- Another highly requested video. Originally, I was not going to make a video on the Big Boy Boxing Demo, however, that was several months ago. The original demo of the game only had one fight, but now the demo has a list of fighters. Overall, a very fun demo, and I highly recommend you play it!
Big Boy Boxing is a fighting game currently in development with inspiration taken from the hit series, Punch-Out. As of the time of the making of this video, the developer has not yet confirmed an official release date.

Honestly, it’s not the same feeling as Punch-Out. The opponent doesn’t block at all and attacks less in comparison, so the whole “puzzles with punches” feeling is gone. And when you do get hit, it feels way more punishing, with you only having 3 HP.
I get it’s supposed to be different from Punch-Out, and there’s a whole rogue-like element planned to be added in the game if I remember correctly, so we’ll see how it goes in the end.
From the looks of it i think it's supposed to be a bite-sized punch out where fights are meant to be really short and simple. Given how much fights there are for a demo, maybe the amount of fights in the final product will be balanced out with how short they are.
@@darksoulsismycityFrom some promotional stuff, there is still a lot in the works. We will likely see multiple phases on many more bosses, or at least harder versions. Plus, you must remember that it is still a demo, and as such, a lot of changes could be made in the final product.
I definitely agree. It feels like most of these fights comes down to hit left hook into right hook with good timing. It feels more like a rhythm game than a strategy/puzzle game like Punch Out.
Maybe these short fights are just for show it's just a demo after all
My main beef with this is how it looks like you can just stunlock your way to victory. I know they don't want to make it extremely hard but I feel like some fight back is warranted. Maybe increase the damage overall but you can only punch if the opponent makes themselves defenseless.
Short and sweet is nice but sometimes it's better to drag things out. Leave short and sweet to a boss rush mode or a survival mode.
The game has a lot of charm to it, like if they took a 90s pc educational game and gave it Cuphead’s fluidity
To me it looks more similar to pizza tower (more so antonblast but i say pizza tower cause i have yet to play antonblast), Cuphead's artstyle is on a whole different league than this
I mean... one of the main inspirations are Punch-Out!!! and Cuphead according to the Steam page
Remember, this is a demo. Nothing here is a finished product and we could easily get a lot of changes in the final version. This is simply a showcase of what they have been working on.
I hope they make fights longer in the final game as alot of characters go down in SECONDS! Which is why Titanic 5000's Survive for 2 Minutes challange is hard for me

I hope the finished product is more difficult. It's pretty boring when all but one or two of the opponents sit there and let you wail off half of their health bar in one combo string. Either punch damage should be reduced during an extended combo, or the opponents should recover more quickly. 30 seconds per fight is mobile game levels of turnaround.

Here are what I believe are all the infractions in this game, but I'm not well versed in the rules of boxing, so if I'm wrong then you can correct me. Mr. Adyltmen has multiple infractions for bringing foreign objects into the ring, being 3 people, wearing a trenchcoat and... being too young to fight. Wild/Hobo Dude isnt even supposed to be there if he comes in similarly to how he does in the Very Early Alpha, he also taunts the player multiple times and wears a T-shirt and sandals, and probably doesnt even have underwear knowing his origins. Freezy Boy has a head covering, which unlike TD Glass Joe he doesnt have permission by a doctor to use, during his transition to ICE COLD KILLER, his knees touch the floor which can be considered a knockout and ICK does moves that could definetly kill Thunder Jr. Chad Joe brings 2 weights with him which could be foreign objects, as well as bringing glasses, which I don't think is allowed. Coach Skank is the best character, and he has a rubber ducky in his buttcrack. He also does a jump attack, and taunts the player by shaking his butt and showing it off, which could be seen as not taking the fight seriously, and finally his tank top doesnt even fit him all that well as his buttcrack is exposed! Similarly to King Hippo. I don't think falling on your foe is allowed Titanic 5000 but he doesnt seem to do much wrong
Chad's tie is also against regulations, and his speedo is not considered regulation gear.
Coach Skank would be ruled as down once he hits the mat, but he isn't; his facial hair, glasses, and hat are also all illegal, as is attacking with his butt. Looking at his moves, I'm pretty sure he also does an illegal haymaker.
Trigger Happy's entire outfit is illegal, plus she gets two more for bringing a weapon into the ring and using it.
Falling on someone would definitely net Titanic an infraction under one clause or another (either attacking someone as you go down or not throwing a proper punch, so maybe two), plus his backhand punches are illegal, and he appears to be wearing some kind of hat. And of course, he's not ruled as down when he hits the mat.

For non-boxers, I'd like to mention how reckless Coach Hank's behavior as a coach is in the Very Early Alpha Prototype, not checking if his gym is ready for a new face, with the boxing bag nearly hitting Thunder Jr. In the face, as well as how dusty it is, he also just abandons Thunder Jr. when Hobo Dude appears. Plus the bouncer isnt doing a good job at making sure minors dont get in the ring, they basically just looked at Adyltmen, and let them go in, no ID check, nothing! Even when he might've figured out their trick, he doesnt do anything about it, which is child endangerment. And I think that should be it.

@@Star.6739Titanic would just be classified as "heavyweight" because they haven't invented a weight class for that yet, so funnily enough depending on the weight class of the player character that wouldn't necessarily be an infraction
Honestly I don't see the punch-out inspiration. It's a cool game with a lot of style but the gameplay came off as blindly punching until you just well, win in under a minute.

basically Trigger Happy:
I gotta be honest. This game is looking meh as all hell. If the full game comes out and it's only a little bit bigger than this demo, I feel bad for anyone wasting their money on a game that'll be cleared in 20 minutes with no real effort.
The game's soundtrack is way more intense than the gameplay, which is very disappointing for a boxing game.
That's fair. There are a few fights in the beginning that are able to be cheesed, and the fact that you only have to knock them down once to win doesn't seem all that realistic. I hope they change that. I also wonder if the 3 lives counter will be changed out, because right now I can only see this feature being there to amp up difficulty where there isn't much difficulty to begin with.
So i've only seen one person count up the infractions so i did it myself.
(if i missed one or got something wrong please tell me i ain't an expert on boxing rules)
Freezy Boy:
Wearing headgear.
He was officially down since his knees made contact with the floor but still got up.
Ice cold K is something I'm not quite sure on the legality of but he does destroy his boxing shoes in the transformation so it counts on that.
Mr. Adyltmen:
Wearing a coat.
Not wearing Boxing shorts.
Had outside interference in the form of the pillows and the Boxing glove.
We don't know if the fists are wrapped properly in the glove.
IT'S THREE KIDS IN A COAT.
Wild Dude:
They let a homeless drunk in.
Isn't wearing Boxing shorts.
Isn't wearing boxing boots.
We don't know how he wrapped his fists around the gloves.
Jim Chad:
Brought barbells into the ring just to lift them and throw them.

Titanic 5000:
Literally weighs 5000 KG, nowhere near the man character's weight.

Thunder Jr is wearing a hat, a vest, and is likely wearing sneakers. He also low blows Coach Skank quite a lot. (4 infraction)
Freezy Boy is wearing sneakers and a helmet when Thunder Jr isn’t. (2 infractions
Ice Cold Killer uses the side of his fist for his one attack. Also, his sneakers no longer fit properly. (Yes that’s a seperate infraction) (2 infractions)
Mr Adultyman is NOT an adult man and is in fact 3 children. They lied to a Big Boy Boxing tournament official. None of them are wearing proper boxing attire. They have two foreign objects, and use them to attack the player. (2 seperate infractions for each of the objects, I believe) They are wearing a trenchcoat, a hat, and glasses as their disguise. They also use the side of their fist for their one attack. (13 infractions)
Wild Dude has 3 taunts to use against Thunder Jr. Surprisingly, both his attacks are legal. He has a beard and he is wearing a t-shirt and sandals. (6 infractions)
Jim Chad is lifting weights IN THE RING, he is wearing a tie, and is wearing reflective shades. (3 infractions)
Coach Skank uses the side of his fist, is wearing reflective shades, a vest, and a hat. I’m pretty sure his shoes and trunks are improper as well. (6 infractions)
Trigger Happy… NO NO, NOTHING AT ALL! (please don’t hurt me)
Titanic 5000 is 5000 kilograms of WATER!! That’s more than Bear Hugger and (possibly) King Hippo combined! He uses the side of his fist, the back of his hand, and ignores a TKO. Oh, and he wears a hat. (5 infractions)
