For those of you wondering why Iceland was so important to NATO:
Their position in the middle of the channel between Greenland and the UK and Norway made it a chokepoint that Soviet subs had to get thru to get to the Atlantic, and Iceland based listening Sonar stations made it immeasurably easier to locate and track them. Losing Iceland as a host to these would have made it much easier for Soviet subs to slip thru and get close to the coast of Europe and the USA undetected.

      The Book of Truth
When things were at their very worst:
2 Suns, Cross in the sky, 2 comets will collide = don`t be afraid - repent, accept Lord`s Hand of Mercy.
Scientists will say it was a global illusion.
Beaware - Jesus will never walk in flesh again.
After WW3 - rise of the “ man of peace“ from the East = Antichrist - the most powerful, popular, charismatic and influential leader of all time. Many miracles will be attributed to him. He will imitate Jesus in every conceivable way.
Don`t trust „pope“ Francis = the False Prophet
      - will seem to rise from the dead
      - will unite all Christian Churches and all Religions as one.
One World Religion = the seat of the Antichrist.
Benedict XVI is the last true pope - will be accused of a crime of which he is totally innocent.

British fishermen used to reply on radio to the Icelandic Coastguard by playing rule brittania and the coastgaurd developed devices that cut the cables from the trawler to its net in the water so they only noticed the loss of their catch after the damage was done.

I loved this video because of the tourism and scenery. Totally makes me want to take the family to Iceland and rent an RV.
However, the analysis of the war was really oversimplified. It wasn't about loving fish and chips, it was about control over important economic resources. It would've been really helpful if you had mentioned the changes in fishing technology that allowed countries to fish further and further off shore, and I was hoping to hear about Icelands tactic of sailing behind British trawlers, cutting their nets. Iceland did more than just threaten to leave NATO in order to win the war.
It should be said that many other nations quickly came to recognize the benefits of the much larger Exclusive Economic Zones, and so backed Icelands claims.
Keep the videos coming. Very informative and entertaining.

Even though I personally consider Europe as just a glorified peninsula connected to a much larger landmass, she did say "continental Europe" which from my understanding does not include offshore islands like the British Isles, and most of Iceland is technically a part of the North American Plate according to geologists.

Flores is not a part of Europe Geologically. It is on the North American tectonic plate. And if you want to go by national status, then Greenland would be the most Western part of Europe since it is a partly selfgoverning body under the Kingdom of Denmark. But the part of Iceland he shows is on the American plate too, so it is not the most western part by any definition.

@@adamgriffin8197 considering this was in 1812, most of Canada wasn’t Canada, but British territory, granted USA wasn’t as powerful as the royal army in general, but considering their army locally was bigger thier was no excuse for them to have not won other then defence is general has a better chance due to not really mobilizing.
The eu/British military would have taken a bit to cross the sea to reach Canada and I’m sure the number of people in Canada was small at the time due to the country belonging to a overseas government/leader/the royal/whatever you want to call it.
