You're right about the enclosure being necessary. I got the Snapmaker one and I find I am using it a LOT more, since noise, odor, and laser radiation are much less of an issue now. Looking forward to seeing your homegrown version!
Very well done. I'm impressed for someone new to 3D printing and modelling. One thing to add @ 4 min 27 is to put a bit of sacrificial timber/mdf below whatever it is you are CNC'ing.
Good luck with your enclosure build! I have the official one and it cuts down half of the noise and rid of the laser fumes, not to mention the boost it gives to ABS printing and the laser protection.
My enclosure is 99% complete - I doubt it will ever be 100% complete because there is always more to add to it. It makes a big difference with the noise, I have yet to test the laser though
I'm not too sure.. I guess it depends on the bit used, and the melting point of the plastic. I tried to cut acrylic and it melted and clogged the bit. The laser can cut as well, but I'm not sure how it would do with plastic.
Hi, good job! Which CNC bits do you use? They look longer than the Standard Snapmaker CNC bits? And what is the maximum Material thickness you can work with them? Thx
Great job! I love your laser engraving outcomes. I just got mine a few days ago, its my first time operating the laser engraver and I’ve been trying to work it, however I couldn’t quite get the perfect setting to work it well, any suggestions on what setting to use for better engraving performance.
I tried a few other projects with the laser and did not get good results - the coasters were my best results so far - I just made sure to calibrate before use, and then adjust the laser power as needed.
Funny that you should mention that, I am building the enclosure right now, the video for that should be out in a week or two. Soundproofing has not been my main concern, because it's in my workshop, but the dust from the CNC and the smoke from the laser are a bother.
Hi really like what you did. I am thinking of cutting out the shape of phone covers from cork material and engraving designs on them. however, I am not sure how I should go about getting the shape of the back of mobile phones. Any Tips?
I only have the laser that comes with it, and that was more than enough power for the engravings. I would like to get the more powerful one, because it would be nice to be able to cut thicker material.
The soap dish looks very nice.
Thanks!

Thanks, great tip, I have done that once, but then forget when I am adding a new piece.
Love the coasters!
Thank you
Very nice video! Keeps moving at a good pace which I appreciate! All your projects are interesting. I see some good ones for me to try!
Thank you, I try not to be boring :-)
Yall know yall messed up when you introduced this to the public, in tough times people gotta get creative, this restores my faith in humanity.
Cool stuff, nice job.
Thanks 👍

@@LogHouseFarm a good hack is to lay the machine on the black foam it came with the box, reduce noise by a huge portion
@@abrokeengineer967 I have kept all the foam, so I can give this a try
Try the CNC vacuum attachment, grom thangs it's worht the time.
The SnapMaker is a lot of fun to work with - see how it was put together here: th-cam.com/video/uQDLSqLH1w0/w-d-xo.html
Brought here by Rag'n'bone Brown, loving the content and your style of videos, subscribed! keep it up!
Glad you like it!
I'm very thankful to Kieth for sending you my way
Great video, would this machine be good to CNC sheets of recycled plastic, hdpe?

I bought some bits and collets from Amazon so that I could cut through 3/4" stock.

Have you created an enclosure or produced a way of soundproofing the tool? Great creations btw

Very good video bro 👍

I would search google for the phone type and see if I could find the dimensions, or try my luck measuring the phone with a caliper.
Hi man, nice video! Did you get the stronger laser engraver from snapmaker to engrave the wood?
I only have the laser that comes with it, and that was more than enough power for the engravings. I would like to get the more powerful one, because it would be nice to be able to cut thicker material.
@@LogHouseFarm good to know man, thanks!
Nice job, very nice done. One question, did you slice the 3D models with snapmaker luban or have you used something else?
All done with Luban, I have started to mess around with Cura, but have not really used it yet.
You lost me when I didn't see what software you used to design the parts. Does Snapmaker come with CAD software?
I used fusion 360 to design the parts, snapmaker does not have its own CAD.
nice
Thanks
i think you stay one month or two for these 3 projects,
it is not ideal for production
