    As a Seattle local, I am a big fan of SEA airport. It serves as a hub for both of my 2 favorite US airlines, Alaska and Delta. I am also a fan of the design of the airport, such as how the people movers are after security so you can move between concourses without having to go through security again. Very nice airport.

    Great video. As a Seattle resident I naturally LOVE Alaska Airlines, their lounges and their regions service, and presence at SeaTac. Thank you so much Jeb. I encourage more Alaska footage possibly a Paine Field video on Alaska. Thank you for all you do for aviation.

    • @MarkJohnson-zy4fd
      @MarkJohnson-zy4fd 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      And as a Seattle resident, perhaps you can appreciate that Alaska Airlines now has very little to do with Alaska. Talk about cultural misappropriation.

    • @Jack-rc8pc
      @Jack-rc8pc 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MarkJohnson-zy4fd I agree that there has been cultrual misappropriation though I do think that there is not as much of a market up there and they need to stay afloat. They do have the Milk Run still and provide quite a lot of service for passengers as well cargo compared to other airlines. I also believe that it doesn't make them a bad company just because they don't have as much affiliation with the state of Alaska. They are still a faithful company that provides nice customer service (in my experience).

    I live next to Seatac and drive the road next to the massive wall shown in the video every day. I have memories of going with my dad to SEA when he traveled for Boeing, we used to park right in front of the terminal. I followed his passion for travel and airlines. I worked for Western/Delta for 15 years out of the building that is now the Delta hanger, it used to house the reservation sales office as well as the planes below it. When they closed the office I left the industry after 18 years. I worked every position you could except cleaning, FA and pilot lol. Some of my favorite memories were early mornings working in baggage, on the tarmac as the plane from Alaska rolled up to it's gate position and we waited with the belt loaders, just as the sun was coming up. Seatac is extremely well run and it's neighbors don't have any complaints about it. It has come a long way baby!

    Seattle used to be my home airport for a while, but it’s amazing how busy it is now. I remember back when it was regularly smooth departing from there, but I was there just a month ago and I couldn’t believe how full it is! It’s also interesting how now every time I fly there, the plane does a minor deviation to delay their arrival.
    You should do Phoenix, my current home! You can talk about the terminal 3 modernizations and the terminal 4 expansion, plus how the excessive heat impacts operations! Plus there’s some cool air national guard operations there

      Those deviations aren't actually that common I don't think. They seem to happen only during exceptionally high traffic levels during rush hour or during a runway change when the wind shifts to the opposite direction.

      Phoenix is where I grew up; I moved to western WA State in 1985, so I've done many flights between Seattle and Phoenix. Terminal 4 is my favorite, but last time I flew to Phoenix I took Alaska instead of my usual Southwest Airlines...and Alaska's gates are in Terminal 3, which was new to me, but looked very updated. I began flying out of Sky Harbor as a child in the late 1960s, then once in 1979, and finally a few times in 1984 and 1985 before I moved. I guess it's REALLY changed since then! I can't even remember what it was like that long ago!!!

That retaining wall is just massive!!

    As a Seattle resident for the past 20 years, I love the dynamic growth and development of the city and SEA airport. As the airport renovations finish, SEA becomes more attractive, slightly larger and for Alaska Airlines customers, efficient to use. At the height of Thanksgiving and Christmas rush this year I got to my gate both times in 10 minutes with TSA Pre-Check but there's also a line reservation system at SEA that helps general travelers beat the TSA lines too.

    Fun seeing my hometown airport on here. It's amazing how much they do squeezed into such a small footprint. Another reminder of the project to add the 3rd runway (a project that there were a lot of vocal opponents of) on SR509 on the west side of the airport there is a now closed exit from SB SR509 that leads to an overpass over the highway and then an entrance onto NB SR509. Both the exit and entrance are completely closed off, but would have been used by all the trucks bringing dirt to the site.

    One important, and sometimes hidden gem at SeaTac is the USO. SeaTac's USO is one of the best I have ever seen. It is open 24/7 and staffed by volunteers to help Military Service members who are traveling to the far East on military flights. These wonderful volunteers will store your bags, have a lounge, snacks / food, and a place for Service members to get some sleep before their flights. This is very helpful since we usually have numerous bags (especially if we are traveling for a permanent change of station) and long layovers. If you are back at SEA, I recommend you stop by and see what these folks do for our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and Guardians. As USOs go, they get 5 Stars on the Steve (can't use Jeb Scale) Scale for USO lounges. Great video, and I look forward to seeing more.

    Great video as always Jeb. My dad started his pilot career with Horizon in 1988 (An airline that just celebrated their 40th anniversary), so for the 33 years that he’s been a pilot with Horizon and Alaska, he’s spent a great deal of that in Seattle and was one of many pilots who were thankful for the third runway. Especially with how much traffic they get today. Would be impossible to manage without that third runway now. Safe travels Jeb, and can you live in the PNW, cause somehow when you’re always here it’s sunny.

    I’ve spent lots of time at SEA over the past 5 years and it has always impressed me by how smoothly things run there given the volume of traffic that comes through. Last time I was in the north terminal, it’s was under construction and I look forward to seeing it now that it’s close to being complete. I like the fact that the secure area of the terminal is basically continuous, which has given me many opportunities for long pleasant walks before flights.

    Was just at SeaTac a week ago, having to hoof it to A20, which is a bus gate to remote stand for the Delta E175. Definitely it’s a tight gate situation when not all of them are online. Still always one of my favorite airports despite its age. Great food and shops, many open at midnight for those red eyes.

    Nice video! I flew into Seatlle airport in about year 2007, a long time ago. I enjoyed this airport a lot.

    SEA I think is one of my favorite Airports in the Country. I flew into Sea-Tac for a recent Trip. When I arrived into SEA I didn’t go right to Baggage Claim. I spent two hours walking around the Airport and riding the People Mover Trains before taking the Link Light Rail into Seattle. I didn’t fly out of SEA on my way home. I actually believe it or not flew out of O’Hare because I also went to Chicago on my trip. I didn’t fly between Seattle and Chicago, I took the Amtrak Empire Builder. which Jeb has reviewed before. It was an unbelievable experience.
