      Not only would there be nowhere to fit it, it would be logistically impossibl without shutting down the airport and redesigning the entire secured side. When checking in your luggage the airport should be able to attach an apple tag of sorts that can only be retrieved out of the claim area by the claimant with the same signal and number. As a thief leaves the area a siren will go off bringing an airline security attendant to address the situation and take the bag from the thief.

    • @TC-cd5sm
      @TC-cd5sm ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They can easily implement this. They just don't want to because it will cost the airlines more money for security. LaGuardia is one of the few airports in the US that will not let you leave the baggage claim area with your bag unless the bag tag matches your claim check. No claim check, the bag will not leave baggage claim.

  • @TC-cd5sm
    @TC-cd5sm ปีที่แล้ว +7

    The best thing to do to keep your stuff safe? Don't fly into SeaTac period. As for the reporter recommending AirTags, just because you can locate your bag, does not mean police can recover it for you. You can track your items to their house and police will not have enough to go in without a search warrant signed by a judge.

    Airports need to protect passengers with their own belongings. They need cordon off the baggage area and ONLY allowed to enter from the arrival flights area and should ONLY be allowed to exit Baggage Claim once they've matched the claim ticket(s) with the baggage. Also, anybody coming from outside the airport building can freely enter the claim area and can pick up any bag. Also, most passengers from abroad are hold up for a long time in the immigration counters while their bags are already in the claim counter ready to be pick up by anybody. There has to be a better way to protect baggage. I don't generally pack things that are valuable, or that I would have a hard time replacing.

    It is airports fault!!!! We people them through our tax and airplane ticket prices. The airport needs to do a lot, a lot more on security on the luggage area. They need to hire for people who can keep an eye on the arrived luggages and more police.

    What amazes me that American airport allow visitors from outside to enter the carrousel freely, in my third world country, only passengers that allowed to roaming the carrousel, and they put guards in the exit, and it's a one way thing, you can get out but you must get in from another gate😊

    I MAIL my summer clothes to LA: light weight, but I also have a house to send them to, so I travel with one carry on bag. But the diver guy and out of country delays at Port of Entry? Whole new set of problems. Heavy equipment, delayed by clearing immigration, long walks to the baggage area. Or ship your gear as freight, and insure it well.
