    I highly recommend getting the ORCA Card any time someone rides public transportation in Seattle! The card is only $3 and you just load it up with funds. It supports electronic transfers between all modes of public transportation (between Du Pont in the south through Everett in the north) within a 3 hour span and you're only charged the highest fair out of all of the trips that you do. You'll save a ton of money by using this instead of paying for each separate trip.

      Including the monorail?

    • @TheTikeySauce
      @TheTikeySauce ปีที่แล้ว

      @@raffinataonline Yes, the ORCA card can be used to transfer onto the monorail as well. You can use it to transfer between any of the below services:
      All Pierce County Metro services
      All Kitsap Transit services (including the water taxi/fast ferries)
      All King County Metro services (including the Seattle Streetcar and Monorail)
      All Community Transit services (including the Swift BRT)
      All Everett Transit services
      All Sound Transit services (Link light rail, Sounder commuter rail, and Express busses)
      You can also use ORCA to pay for fares for the below services, although transfers aren't supported:
      All Washington State Ferries from WSDOT (does not accept ORCA regional or monthly passes)
      Amtrak Cascades between Seattle and Everett (requires ORCA monthly pass)

      I'm looking at getting an orca card when I arrive in seattle next month, I'll be there for 5 days but not sure how much I'd need to put on it? do they do set number of days pass or anything?

    • @TheTikeySauce
      @TheTikeySauce ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lordteabelly Depending on how often you see yourself riding public transit, you can make $25-30 stretch for a fairly long time because of transfers. Otherwise you can load the ORCA card with the $8 regional day pass which will work on all fares up to $3.50.

    Thank you for explaining this option so clearly. We are 3 seniors traveling to Seattle during the week of Labor Day. We will be buying our Reduced Fare Pass before our trip. I originally was going to rent a car at the airport for the week but as public transportation seems fairly easy and our hotel,is charging $35 a day for parking then we are going to opt for the light rail. We’ll rent a car for a few days versus the whole week so we can travel outside of Seattle.

    I was looking for an in-depth video to show how you get to the light rail from the airport as we fly in on Saturday and I have never been to Seattle. However, to deem something as “lazy” is really unfortunate. I specifically needed to see this route because my mom can’t walk. She has a rollator which I will be carrying along with all of our luggage. We hope to have a wheelchair waiting for us as requested, but one never knows. But this looks like it is not going to work for us. Just a note though, if you want to appeal to all travelers, maybe dont ostracize people.
