Thanks to you and your DEN team for helping make it happen! The operation is incredible!! I’ve been hearing from a lot of folks at other hubs eager to share their stories, too…hope to partner with you all again!
This is so professionally done, as usual. It just blows my mind how a youtuber can create something that blows high budget television programs out of the water. You've done it again, Jeb. Cheers :)
Jeb, as a former ramp agent from years ago, I would like to extend a personal thanks to you for this excellent overview of ramp operations and the many folks it takes to try to make this as smooth as possible, both for the paying customers AND the employees. Safety first.
Matt here from the Ramp Tower! Thank you so much for all the work you put into this great video! It was our pleasure to give you a look behind the curtain at everything everyone does to keep the operation as smooth as possible. It was so fun meeting you and getting my own behind-the-scenes look at how you create these videos! Thanks again!
@@briancrawford69 There are a few paths to end up in the Ramp Tower. It’s not an official training and testing program like you’ll see with FAA controllers, but many in the Ramp Tower have studied at aviation schools. You can also show an aptitude for the operation by working other jobs with airlines or the city/county departments at the airport and then apply for a position when one becomes available.
Jeb, this is just phenomenal. As a United Ramp Supervisor at Chicago O'Hare, thank you for showing the public the inner workings of our operation. All of Uniteds hubs work in a similar fashion. Also had a great chuckle when you mentioned flight 763. That is an exceptionally critical flight for connections upon arriving at Chicago, so thanks for lending a helping hand! All the best.
The transition to end the video was so smooth it KILLED me. The best part was seeing Jeb gas up the ramp workers with compliments and make their days. What an awesome, positive person the world is lucky to have
Back a couple months, I was in FLL, watching out the window, and amazed at all the activity going on. I was watching one bag handler in particular. This guy was working his butt off. When we were boarding, he was on the jet bridge. I told him that I so appreciated him and his crew, all the hard work they were doing and to say thank you. He was so nice and really appreciated me saying thank you.
I currently work Ramp at MSY for United, but for the 8.5 years I worked ramp at DEN, you have made me so proud to highlight the insane operation we have going on there! Thanks Jeb! Shout out to Janel, she was a ramp rat turned Supervisor and now asst. Ramp Manager who was always cool to work with and never forgot where she came from. Also shout out to my old gates and crews: B42, B41/43, B39, B53, and B58/60.
Haha you probably pushed back my flight to DC last Sunday morning, thankfully we left on time and it was a pleasant flight unlike for my uncle who flew air Canada and ended up arriving home a day and a half late!
Great Video Jeb, I just retired from the DEN SOC in April. Miss everyone there. I worked with Bob in the SOC and Matt in the Tower, Bob helped organized my retirement party with my wife. They are a great group of people so glad you got to meet them. They got me the coolest retirement gift ever an engraved window from an actual aircraft with my name and starting and ending dates. I worked there for 36 years. keep up the good work you have the best travel videos. Me and my wife watch every week.
As an airline pilot myself, even I don’t often get the opportunity to see what goes on behind the scenes of my own aircraft. Thank you for highlighting a critical part of the operation. Great video as always Jeb!
Great video. I live in Denver and I do say that one advantage of living in Denver is that you're only a few hours away from anywhere in the Continental U.S. There's also international flights anywhere. Nice to see how the system works.
It's amazing that a TH-camr would be able to produce a documentary of this quality... rivaling anything you'd see on television. Jeb, was it just you shooting and recording this, or did you have any kind of production crew helping you? What a feather in your cap that you were able to get this kind of access and cooperation from United to go behind the scenes like this! They obviously have a very smart PR department that understands the value of good publicity. As a TH-camr myself, one suggestion I would like to offer is that the video might get more views if it had a catchier title. I love aviation videos and even I didn't watch this video the first day you released it because the title made it sound like it might be a bit boring. Here's the title I would have used if this had been a video I made: "I Had Incredible Access Behind The Scenes With United Airlines in Denver!". To me, that seems like a more clickable title.
I worked for United as a temp worker at IAH and boy did I have an amazing experience! We had a week in the classroom in the airport where we learned about the ramp, rules and regulations, etc. and the next week was on the job training on the apron, ramp,, and in the bagroom! I LOVED those areas! It was tough work, but also fulfilling and I encourage anyone to work the ramp. At the end of the temp assignment, United have us a party in the airport and goodies! I love you, United and thank you for the opportunity!
Hey Jeb, I'm a ramp agent for Delta at KFSD (Sioux Falls) and I truly appreciate you going in depth with this. There have been many times that customers have been blatantly rude for issues that are minor or that can't be solved at our station. Keep up the great work!
This is why we watch Jeb. Always so kind. I remember watching when he was under the radar, the channel has gotten bigger with a ton more eyes on him but he’s the same old Jeb. Kind, excited and inspiring.
Jeb, I watch all of your videos and I think this might be your best one yet. It is so informative and answers so many questions I've always had as a former corporate traveler. Thanks for posting. Steve R.
Jeb, as a current Ground Service Agent for Alaska Horizon and fellow Av Geek, this video was fantastic! Many people do not understand the day to day work we do on the ramp, and how vital it is for the airline industry. Thank you for showing the public all that goes on behind the scenes. Absolutely love the videos, keep em coming!
I loved this documentary about the relentless effort and large-scale teamwork it requires to run a major hub for a major US airline! A series about different hubs for different airlines would be amazing!
Denver is very unique in how much available land the airport has in its surroundings for continued growth. Compared to other large airports like JFK, MIA, SFO, ATL and LAX, that have had city development build up around them limiting their expansion. United really picked a great location for a hub
Growing up my uncle had a wheat farm that is now part of the airport. I spent more hours than you can imagine sitting on a tractor or a combine out there.
Denver is actually the second largest airport in the world in terms of land owned by the airport which is definitely useful when there comes a need to expand.
Having all that land for expansion and protection of operations was a very deliberate decision back in the late 1980s. The proposition was put on the ballot and voted on by the locals. Obviously, it passed.
This is one of the most detailed and well-thought-out videos that really detail how everything works at the airport. Every time I land at O'Hare or Newark or any of those United hubs, forget even United just any airline hub it's amazing how there will be the same airline just swarming around you, and all of them go through so much just to move. One time, I even landed at a gate in O'Hare from Boston, and then after a few gate changes ended up actually taking off to my final destination from that same gate. And the crazy thing was, my flight from Boston went somewhere else, another flight came in and went somewhere else before my flight came in. Hubs aviation, you have to love it. Thank you Jeb for sharing this. P.S. my favorite hub is British Airways at London Heathrow International Airport Terminal 5.
Jeb! I loved this video. My dad worked previously for united for many, many years. He had this type of job. He now works with Endeavor Air, in JFK, who are operators of Delta Connections. It's always fascinating to see other people's perspectives on the same role.
The best Airline Carriers. The friendly skies motto speaks for itself. Their customers service is always outstanding from the ground service and up in the air service. Thank you United Airlines for making all my flights safe and confront.
Thanks Jeb. I worked the ramp for 43 years for UA/CO, 15 of them at Denver Stapleton. I've never seen you so giddy as when you were in the pushback tug. Thanks again.
Alright you’re getting a sub, this was just amazing. Been a ramp agent in Denver for over 2 years now and I just started my career with United a couple months ago. Such as amazing insight for passengers to see at least a glimpse of what we do down there. I even saw someone from my training class on this video I’ll have to tell him he’s famous lmao
I am a Colorado native. This was quite eye-opening, and it was an AWESOME video of the "behind the scenes" operations of UAL at Denver International Airport. Thank you!
Hey Jeb. I am a ramp agent for United in Fort Myers Florida and I agree it’s one of the best jobs that one could have at any airport. But for me it’s just the first step. Pretty soon I’m going to start my first officer training through United’s Aviate program. It’s an amazing opportunity and thank you for inspiring me to sour high. I know I will see you soon on one of my flights and I’m very excited for that day. Until that day comes, see you in the skies
For any kid out there interested in filmmaking/content creation show them this. It's all filmed on an iPhone-- but the story, pacing and Jebs passionate/positive personality holds us smiling for 12 mins. Great work Jeb!
That was such an aw sum video! I was in the Air Force and was a crew chief on F-4 aircraft. Love the behind the scenes videos that you shoot. I hope you keep making them I leave next weekend on a 10 day Amtrak trip on 5 trains! I am by my self in a roomette the whole time. Can't wait. Keep up the great work...
I have lived in Denver my entire life, born and raised. My father worked at DIA as an terminal operations manager, and I’ve served as a ramp agent in the past. Truly amazing to see this in depth tour. Thank you for the amazing content!
It's funny I was just looking for some airport behind the scenes documentaries and here you are. You uploaded this video a day ago. Great production of this video. I hope it blows up for you
I love these behind the scenes videos of airports from towers to baggage. Aviation is the greatest industry that opens itself to travelers and us who watch it love it every time
Great video. I started my career at Continental Airlines in Hawaii as a Ramp Agent, Weight/ Balance and Ramp Operations Coordinator, then as FAA Flight Dispatcher in Flight Control over seeing the whole Airline Operations. 50 years in Aviation.
Having worked as a Ramp Lead/Operations Agent for a Delta Air Lines ground handler, thanks for showing the in's and out's of ramp operations! Very well done Jeb!
I work on the ramp in Denver for another airline- but just wanted to say thank you for the appreciation you showed the ramp agents in your video. Most people don't care about us lol not to be dramatic but it was nice seeing your thankfulness to the labor. It's a hard gig.
It's a known fact, that no one cares about the ramp crew. The gate agents crap all over them, the 100% worthless leads will sweep them under the bus any chance they get and upper management will never say thank you. They hear thank you more times from passengers with strollers and wheelchairs. Than they would ever hear from anyone else.
These men and women who pilot these aircraft’s deserve so much respect and gratitude…… They fly hundreds of people in one plane and our lives are in their hands and they take good care of us. I remember when pilots were respected and Thanked . Next time you see a pilot maybe say Thank you or if they are buying coffee maybe buy that coffee for them. I do. THANK YOU to all the pilots from every airline THANK YOU to the towers Thank you to the people on here. I am truly GREAT FULL to ALL of YOU. I fly a lot and I only fly United, I am sure other airlines are Great, but I am a baby as it is when I am flying and I am comfortable with United. THANK YOU ALL AGAIN
@Rich I did a response for the grounds crew in another comment, I should have put it all in one. I would NEVER forget them as you said They are EXTREMELY important….. If your part of the grounds crew at any airport THANK YOU SO MUCH, All I’d the grounds people are HEROS too Thank you Rich
Fun fact: the current airport has only been in existence since 1995. It replaced Denver Stapleton Airport, which was a lot more centrally located but ended up being too close to people’s houses for it to expand, which is why they built a new airport instead. The old airport is now a neighborhood called Central Park. The terminal, designed by local architect Carl Fentress, is known for its fiberglass roof that mimics the Rocky Mountains, making it one of the most iconic terminals ever.
What a great video. You often start your videos with the disclaimer that your "observations" in no way takes away from the awe that is flight. This video shows just how amazing it is that you and I can jump on a plane, fly across the state, country, or world in comfort. The logistics are incredible. That is why when I am flying and someone starts to complain (I will never fly X airline again), I just chuckle to myself, because it is the safest, fastest, most comfortable, and securest (if that is a word) way to travel. I enjoy all of your videos, but this one really shows the miracle that is modern aviation.
Love your excitement, Jeb! Thanks for the incredibly educational video and thanks to United for giving you (and us) a behind-the-scenes look! Well done!
Wish there were more information out for travelers who may be on a flight with a U.S. military veteran, killed in action, being transported home or to a place of burial. Just recently heard about people on a plane complaining about having to wait for a veteran's casket being deplaned. Each airline needs to make this ceremony one to remember for each and every American to witness and honor.
It would cause havoc on flight and airport schedules. Most Americans, sad as it is, wouldn’t care to watch. They’d rather be on time for their connecting flights or just be home on time.
Nice video! The DEN staff is amazing. I worked at United corporate for over three years in IT leading the UX for Aero (see 2:20) and MAP (The mobile version app for agents) and the DEN team was very helpful in testing new software releases. In fact one time they said they were tired of “watching the plane spin” which was the refresh spinner. So I designed a new version with the UAL logo animating as a page refresh spinner which you can see on the video. The staff was also super helpful when we were launching the In-the-Moment app as well. Glad to see someone explain the incredible complexity of airlines.
I generally love your videos, but this one is in a legue of its own. Especially enjoyed how excited you were to see this stuff in action because I would be the same way!
Great Video Jeb! As a colorado resident, I have spent many many hours in concourse B, always marveling at how smooth a crew runs from the ground! Thank you for doing this!
great video. How do you only have 400k subs??? great production and feature. Can't wait to see your next videos. Love that you showed the other aspect of the flights, especially when people are getting frustrated with their delays and cancellations. Gives us a reason to slow down and appreciate all the workers that make this machine work.
Years ago I got worked on a dispatch system for airplane cleaning crews. It was awesome seeing behind the scenes. The precision required to stay on schedule is crazy.
Great video once again. Something really interesting is that I have worked on that exact 757-200 at HAECO Americas in Greensboro, your home town, about a year ago. I worked in that EXACT cargo pit you were standing in, brought back some good memories from my time there. I think an excellent video you could possibly try to make happen is to follow around the maintenance team at United in DEN. I work for United Express as a mechanic and can say that you would really enjoy seeing what goes on behind the scenes in maintenance. The great thing about doing it in DEN is that you could see the hanger maintenance as well as line maintenance. Just an idea for you!
Another great video. As someone who works on the ramp I thank you for showing what we do. And most of the time it runs smoothly like the flight to O'Hare or Hawaii in your video. I think customers like yourself would get a kick to see the bagroom during what we call an IROP day or Irregular Operations day. When the plane gets delayed for weather or mechanical how the bagroom tries hard to make sure your bag is not lost and makes it on your new flight. Keep up the great videos Jeb
I love these behind the scenes videos you’ve been doing Jeb. It helps to know, or remember, that there are so many people involved in getting us to our destinations. And your enthusiasm is infectious!
I was actually at Denver not even a week before this video was posted. Spent several hours there waiting for my flight home, and quite a bit of it was spent just observing the ramp operations. Always a marvel.
As a CSR agent at United at SFO, thank you for showing everyone what it takes to get passengers to and from their destination! It’s a crazy, crazy business that requires a lot of patience, coordination, and time. The revenge travel surge post-COVID has been INSANE! Not to mention that a lot of our stations and our third party partners are SUPER understaffed. To everyone else traveling this summer, please be patient with the agents at the airport! We really are trying our best to make your experience the best it can be, while also keeping you all safe! I can’t even count how many times I’ve had to work fully loaded flights BY MYSELF at the gate (usually 737s!) just because we don’t have enough manpower! But anyways, THANK YOU AGAIN FOR THIS VIDEO! I hope the general public can grasp how many little details play into their flights.
Love this you have a very genuine positive attitude that makes me look forward to flying again. Also appreciate your gratitude to the airline workers. Well done and interesting.
This was such a great video! I love the behind the scenes at the airport, we never get to see views like this on other channels. Been watching you for a couple years. You always make such good videos! Take care.
Incredible video, Jeb! As someone who has lived in Denver my entire life and is a life long United fan this was an incredible video to watch. Thank you for sharing this with us!
I love this video - very nice insight. And for me as a German, Denver is always a special place to arrive, depart or connect. I have often been there, but never in such interesting places you have been ... Actually, Denver was the place where I spent two summer holidays as a teen.
Thank you Jeb for giving props to the rampers! Im almost at my one year as a ramper over at Delta and I think it’s so cool to see us getting some recognition as we kinda get overlooked by passengers in our importance to the operation compared to pilots and flight attendants
Lovely airport. I was amazed to see how clean this airport was. Truly huge airport - bigger than Delta hub ATL - I am confident that Denver has a very good potential with supports the city provides to the airport as well!
This is such an awesome view into the operations and behind the scenes of what it takes to keep planes moving. This really makes me appreciate every single person working their piece of the puzzle to make commercial airline travel possible!
Thanks for helping to pull back the curtain and show the magic at DEN!
Thanks to you and your DEN team for helping make it happen! The operation is incredible!! I’ve been hearing from a lot of folks at other hubs eager to share their stories, too…hope to partner with you all again!

Having worked as a Ramp Lead/Operations Agent for a Delta Air Lines ground handler, thanks for showing the in's and out's of ramp operations! Very well done Jeb!
This was so exciting to watch! I’m so glad you make these great videos!
@@Berserker006 100% accurate lol
This was great!! Best behind the scenes of an airport i've ever seen!
Such an amazing video. Very enjoyable. More please! Thank You!
Wow! Great video. I love seeing the behind the scenes action in aviation.
Great video as always Jeb! Can’t wait for the next video, so I can learn more about the airline industry.
Denver has been my home base for the last 7 years and United the airline of choice. I love both !
This was so cool! Thank you for making such incredible content!
I was completely geeking out on this video. Please do more!!!
Lmao haeco fucked up so many of the mods they did on our airbuses united pulled the contract.
Fascinating! Thanks for taking us behind the scenes. Love airport life.
I love these kinda videos !!! Definitely the reason why I subscribed a few years ago 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
This was absolutely awesome. I never get more excited than when a new Jeb video is posted!
Fantastic video, Jeb! I do this kind of stuff for the other major airline at ORD.
Exceptional. Everyone who boards a plane should see this video. I will share this with everyone I know.
Really interesting and well filmed. Great video as always Jeb!
That was really cool of United to share the process! Thanks to them, and thanks to you Jeb!
I think these behind the scenes videos are your best content, more please :)
I love this video - very nice insight. And for me as a German, Denver is always a special place to arrive, depart or connect. I have often been there, but never in such interesting places you have been ... Actually, Denver was the place where I spent two summer holidays as a teen.
This was so well produced! Thanks Jeb!
Great Video! Awesome to see this from the eyes of the ground crew.
I'll be flying United next month to the US. That operation at Denver was really something
Thank you Jeb for giving props to the rampers! Im almost at my one year as a ramper over at Delta and I think it’s so cool to see us getting some recognition as we kinda get overlooked by passengers in our importance to the operation compared to pilots and flight attendants
Don’t turn into one of the slugs that don’t want to do anything
This was great! Thank you for showing behind the scenes!
Im a Colorado native and this was so cool to see the bts of my local airport
Big nod to the Rhapsody in Blue! Gotta love me some Gershwin! Another fantastic video, sir!
What a fantastic video. Absolutely brilliant.
Love the video, especially with it being my home airport! So well done and wish to see more like it!
