@Jaxon Abraham i really appreciate your reply. I got to the site on google and Im trying it out now. Looks like it's gonna take a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
First time watching this style of display review, very well done and supremely informative. Sadly not available in my region yet, but counting the days! Thanks. 👍
I have compared my V50 with the note 10 plus and I liked more the Lg display, therefore I understand why the G8 is so good. But didn't expected s20 plus and v60 results...
Yep... checked on Note10+ in the stores and my OP6 (1080p) had always better colors and brightness! Specs do not tell the story about screens... you have to see by yourself!
Not trying to be funny but most of the Galaxy phones looks like pixelated array of off colors. Maybe it has something to do with TH-cam video compression or just could be hot garbage Samsung screens. V60 is holding up.
@Eazy Computer Solutions - I have not seen this test done often but was a great visual for those, especially who get a mind set (called a 'rut') that makes it difficult to climb out of. LG held its own and to those who continue to try and make issue of something you have clearly shown not to be an issue...well, not sure there is any convincing them. Thank you.
Proud lg g8 owner. I've own lg g8 triple camera up to 10 months now. And I'm still fall in love for it everyday. Why? Because of it's display, manual camera and video, quad dac and handful design . And yeah it can beat up some other hi-end device brand, and lg is less known to other people in my country(feeling exclusive) . Cons : hard to find accessories 😅
LG's displays are straight outta their best TV's. So yeah, they are not just color accurate, but more flexible and there's a lot density in pixels that actually show off.
The whites on the Samsung Note 10 device looks "dirty" with it's off-white, egg shell color. Not feeling it's panel at all. I used to own that phone but I gave it up because it really didn't impress me. It was evident from the beginning, both LG phones have the more superior panels compared to the Samsungs.
Great video. It's great that you take the time and have the patience to produce such great content. Thanks for that! I often change the resolution on my G8. For everyday I keep it on 1080p. When editing photos, I ramp it up to 1440. When traveling or out all day, go down to 760p. Samsung devices have always been too warm and brown. I remember when HTC were battling it out...and side by side, the HTC whites were pure, and the Samsung's whites were more brownish. But honestly, in real-time use, it doesn't make much of a difference. That said, you can get the G8 for $300 or less...and it's an absolute steal.
That is a great comparison review of those 5 different phones. The G8 to me has the best quality for the most part and Eazy you know I'm a Samsung kind of guy. Thanks for sharing this with us 👍 up my friend and be safe 🙏
Thank you so much.. I just subscribed to you. Found you from a phone spec website.. this video was linked in response to somebody complaining about the 1080p display... Most people don't realize that Samsung devices actually come out of the box defaulted to 1080p... At least they used to I'm not sure about the s20. Anyway, just wanted to say GREAT WORK!!
Very comprehensive video. Fair and honest. People use 1080p monitors on Laptops and desktops but complain that 1080 is not good enough for a display on a device as small as a smart phone.
I don't like them fake warm whites on Samsung. Also, since LG is dimmer at 50% perhaps at 0% it is too and I love that when I'm using my phone at night.
wow!I can't believe how far LG display has come since the v30. That apple display deal for the XS XR series must have taught them something about quality control! My v30, v40 loose out to my samsung s9+, but my g8x looks BETTER than the s9+. Not to mention dual screen is hard to separate from after using it for just a week. Great video and I have been coming here for a while, no clue why I only just subbed. Now time to look for your s20 vs v60 camera comparison.
I don't know how accurate youtube or my screen, but here is my opinion. Colors look great on the G8, I prefer the whites on v60. More on the white: V60 looks white white, G8 a bit darker' Galaxy S series is darker and lean more grey What happened to the white on the Note?
Another great video. Watching from my G7 and was looking forward to the V60 but that is a big was phone. Would you recommend upgrading from the G7 to the G8? Thanks.
Just want clarify that samsung will only peak brightness on automatic mode when it's needed eg bright sunny day. The displays have reduced harmful blue light being omitted hence why the white balance looks off which I don't like but you do appreciate when using the phone.
I hate how tech companies will say that the LG screen is extremely inferior and that the colors are extremely inaccurate based on their measurements..really because this shows that they are on par!
Sure there are very good. There are a bunch of media just say LG screens are bad but they are not. I do these test all the time please check out my channel and welcome. Thanks for watching
I'm glad guys like you are on TH-cam. Most bigger reviewers here always put down LG for mediocre or made up reasons. Most of them just following the crowd or just mad from the bootloop days. Which I do blame LG for their poor response. Still, these guys need to just move on( the note 7 exploded in 2016).
They all look good nice and bright but still people will protest if Samsung give them a 10p screen you remember how they ridicule the S10e and the regular note 10 so unfair smh!!
LG V60 is rocking, i have S9 and by the time it gets more and more on my nerves because of its "Beautiful screen" or design w/e. Don't lie yourself because of the screen like i did, believe me that flat screen it's better than every curved screen. I'm looking forward to change my S9 with V60, i had G5 and i didn't regret it so i'm pretty sure that i won't regret V60 :)
People don't complain about Apple Retina Display (or even laud it). The V60 has 21% greater ppi than Retina Display, and just 1.5% less ppi than Retina Display HD (i.e. the same). The ppi for the V60 is more than adequate and is the most smart engineering decision for satisfying visual fulfillment, cost, and battery usage. Super high res phones came out when the trend for using your phone for a VR screen was novel. If that's your need, yes the V60 is not for you. Other than that it is the best tech solution.
So i appreciate the comparison. That said unless you can calibrate the diplays its really just a display mode/color science comparison. Much like the difference between an LG camer and a sammy camera on auto. But 1080p is more than enough and most people couldnt tell the difference anyway.
I'm using v60 Softbank variant and there is black crush and greenish tint in it's display. I'll not recommend you to purchase a japense kit but rather consider for a European or global variant for better display calibrations
At the size of the displays you won't see much difference between 1440p and 1080p, assuming you are normal and don't have your eyeball pressed up against the screen. I have the LG V20 (1440p LCD) and the LG G8x (1080p OLED), and to me the OLED looks better than the LCD especially at night as LCD are to bright in the dark.
You omitted the Sony Xperia 1.I don't know how good it is but I think it should have a spot on a display comparison video with the 4K resolution and HDR label and the features they advertise.
So the v60 actually has the brightest display? I'm debating on s20 Ultra or v60... I'm absolutely fine with 1080p and better battery.. BUT I love to have a very bright display.
