Peak Haze! Watching this for the second time, your videos got me started wild camping a year ago today exactly at 43yo.....I go out almost weekly now, when family time allows, all over my native North York Moors from moors to sea. Cheers Dude, all the best and thanks for the entertainment and encouragement 🙏
There's something very special about doing a long distance walk. 3 years ago I walked 450 miles from northern France to Lancaster in memory of my dad so I can understand you doing your walk for your grandad. You are a very talented film maker and I'm so glad to have found your videos.
Really moved by your love and respect for your Grandfather...what a great inspiration! Great video and commentary...thanks so much for sharing this...Starting on Part II now! ATB!
Even coming in for 2 years later, when I'm feeling like the world's getting on top of me, I still come back and watch this series. Considering doing this with my dad in mind, as he's in the late stages of a terminal illness.
Hey mate, i moved from the UK to the US about 18 years ago. I do a lot of this over here but miss the good old UK land scape terribly. Cheers for the videos!
I watched all of these videos two weeks ago before my own crack at it... now, after a successful completion (yesterday morning), I find myself watching again, with even more enjoyment, recognising every shot and reliving it! Ah, mate - what an adventure it was! And I've stopped now, at 22:45, because it's just made me laugh out loud - I swear that flat bit of land you're camping on there just outside of Stonethwaite is the exact same bit I did just last week! Great minds...
Was dead chuffed when you showed Blacksail youth hostel, my climbing partner and I often talked about walking to that particular hostel. I’m disabled now and spend a lot of time in a wheel chair. Whilst she wheeled me round a local national trust property (Nymans ) she told me she’d looked into whether we could reach it via hired quad bikes. I never told her but I was so touched that she’d looked into it that I bawled like a baby all the way on my drive home. Thank you, I’m loving your adventures.
I’ve watched other hiking TH-cam videos and no one does as good a job. They just hike and don’t show the map or give a sense of the country and how it changes. I’m really enjoying your story. Have always wanted to do the coast to coast but I think I’m too old now and have missed my chance! Thanks for the videos!
'Take your time and smell the roses.' I like that Hazy. A great start and inspiration for the hike = a fabulous story about your gramps! Hey thanks for the tip on cold soaking breakfast - I've never thought of that. Saves time and energy. Well, I wont go on - I enjoyed every mile. Good going - nice pitches. Take care. Mark
Honestly mate, the bants you have with the animals along the way cracks me up so much! Proper chuckling at that I was man. Love you Hazey you're a true gem!
Love all your videos, Haze. You are like the Cam Hanes of outdoor camping. What you're doing, in memory of your granddad, is very special and I look forward to seeing more of your trip. If you ever visit Japan, I'd be happy to take you hiking around my area. All the best.
I also do the cold soak brekkie method, works a treat and saves fuel. Good choice of fortifications - cinnamon, chia and goji berries = boosts of antioxidants, protein, vitamins and importantly fibre. Although with the long days you're doing i'd probably boost the energy content further with some dark choc and peanut butter mixed in. Got to get that energy in:energy expended balance. Inspiring stuff btw
Nice wee video there! i am walking with me dad this July 2021.. excited, and your videos helped, especially with the overnight oats! genius! no messing about in the morning. love it. onto part two. and lovely for your grandad memory
Great to see this brings back some fantastic memories for me. The best long distance walk I ever done. That tent looks the business. Cheers H man 👍 and thanks for taking the time to put the vids together it must take ages. Piece to ya..
Thanks Mr haze re watching your vids of your trip one last time before I set out on my own c2c next month. Different class for all the others. Many thanks
Cracking vid hazel, did this 20 years ago on a bike, nice to see your route ,brings back some good memories mindyou did it in winter which had a fair bit of snow burrrrrr🍻 Will
Oh faintastic! Reminds me so much of my ramblings in the UK in the 90ties. How i wish i could have videod it. All i had was the old pentax ME @ 5 kilos, and the scribblings on my map. Now fading memories. That route looks so much nicer as the southern upland way. That is all bog high and low. Nice going mate keep it up don't blow the gasket! Cheers! Praise! Oh LORD fuck yeah
I’m SOOO happy to see this!! It’s been obscenely hot here (temp gauge on my truck said 109 F today) and I was rather grumpy for suffering thru it all, so to finally get in front of an AC and have a fun and delightfully entertaining video to watch, definitely improved my day and attitude ;) lol .. thanks so much for taking the time to film your adventure and share it with us Hon! I know it’s not always exactly fun to film when you are immersed in your surroundings, so thank you for doing it :) .. I’m sure your granndad is proud of you! The scenery is stunning, & so different from here.. you do a great job with that camera :) Don’t work too hard, I’m sure you’re smack in the middle of your busy season! ATB ~Ruth
Top vid Mr Haze. Props to your grandad for doing the same journey in the late 70's with old school heavy gear. Thanks for sharing Haze, looking forward to part 2. Atb Sconja 👍
This is brilliant! Both the filming and the hike. And the landscape of course. I'm going to hike the C2C walk in late August, so I'm thankful for every piece of advice I can get. This video is a great aid for my planning and I'm looking forward to watching the other parts after work :)
Well made , very interesting , fancy giving it go . Great that you are following in your grandfathers steps . Weird to see you so serious . Looking forward to the next one .
A lovely story behind this. Well done you. Found your channel by chance, searching for vids of C2C walks, and wound up binge-watching the Haze Outdoors channel during lockdown. I used to be a glamper back in the day, and planned last year to do some long-distance hikes and wild camping. Now mother's dementia has gotten worse, and I've wound up her full-time carer, so everything's on hold for a while longer. It's all good. All about priorities - and with Covid, not much chance of getting out and about anyway right now. Thanks for all the vids, and hard work you put into them. Good luck for 2021. (Kudos to Joey D...legend. The ale supping and fishing vids are inspired). All the best. Sorry for the essay. J xx
This is awesome mate gonna watch part 2 now 👍🏻 I no ash is doing this this coastal trek, id love to do it.. Fair play to your grandad, that's when men were men 😂😂😂😂
Hey hey Hazy. Walking in your Grand-Dad's footsteps, with his own copy of Wainwright's guide, is a thing to be proud of. Looks like you're enjoying it, so far. Hope the weather stayed nice, but as you're up north, I doubt that it did for nine days. Looking forward to the rest of the series...
I’m kind of late to all this and only recently subscribed to your channel but I’ve gotta say I’m really enjoying your films and I’m looking forward to being able to get out once this lockdown finishes. Thanks man. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I’ve just watched you videos, and it cracked me up. Done the Offers Dyke last year, and I’m still suffering from Planter Facetious. But your video as made me want to do this walk. Thanks
i'm loving working my way through your videos, top quality style you have got going on, don't ever change that! 'put the nut on, killed it obviously' ha ha ha
Haze Outdoors broken back can't keep me down, be beach camping at the weekend for my birthday! Watched your new vid today, that walking looked laboured! Great way to honour your grandad, hope you made it!
I ran the coast to coast with a group of students in the nineties, six teams, ten miles a day each team, one member of staff each team, three and a bit days-boom. Must do it slowly and see all of it one day. All the best, peace out.

Man I'm chuffed the Lanshan is serving you well and I can't wait for part 2. That adventure foods hot pot is my favourite of all their varieties, the mash warms the cockles. My only gripe was that you didn't review the latch on that first gate ;)
GadgetViper aye aye more latch reviews. Also, Hazy, you look like a big green ball bag in your ultralight getup. I’m not hating on you - but if I looked like a big green ball bag I would want someone to tell me.
Great video series mate impressive pace it seemed to me and walking on a busted ankle is like walking on knives with the heavy pack to boot! Congrats on the achievement and respect to ur gramps.

Very enjoyable viewing. I hope your feet hold up. Get some talc on your feet, that worked for me. Also two pairs of socks helps to avoid blisters. Hope you make it to the end and those 3 little pebbles end up in the North sea:)

Mr Haze. I’m starting the coast to coast tomorrow. You’ve inspired me mate. So hats off to you.

"I don't want any beef... no pun intended!"... man you made my day! :)
"iv done it in past, iv laid the nut on" hahahaha cracked me up that

I’ve watched other hiking TH-cam videos and no one does as good a job. They just hike and don’t show the map or give a sense of the country and how it changes. I’m really enjoying your story. EPIC! So looking forward to this and enjoying the journey. Thanks for taking us along. Kudos for taking a stone for your Grandad (Boom! Fist Pump!).
What fantastic motivation Really enjoyed the story of your grandfather. Best outdoors channel. Legendary crew.
Stumbled upon this researching the coast to coast walk. Very glad I did. Heartwarming and made me chuckle a few times. Subbed as it makes me happy!
Honestly mate, the bants you have with the animals along the way cracks me up so much! Proper chuckling at that I was man. Love you Hazey you're a true gem!
Amidst The Trees it’s when they give it back is when you know you’ve been alone too long 😂
Love all your videos, Haze. You are like the Cam Hanes of outdoor camping. What you're doing, in memory of your granddad, is very special and I look forward to seeing more of your trip. If you ever visit Japan, I'd be happy to take you hiking around my area. All the best.
What a great way to record your adventure. You do the old man proud. Stick in your inspiring people to get out and put the TH-cam away.

Front page. Hazy following in grandfather's footsteps literally. Reinactment of grandad's coast to coast hike from the 70s.
Wow great hike! HUGE LIKE for this friend
Beautiful hearing the cuckoo while you filmed the black lamb at 19.00! Great vid, look forward to the next episode.

Timelapse: Totally worth it! :-)
Just getting to this playlist and am following your trip on Google maps. Different map than you have but still fun to tag along.
Great stuff Hazey, had the C2C on my radar for a while. Looks awesome. Got my own little adventure on Saturday, 108 PW mile race from Edale to Hardraw, aiming for 40hrs non stop. Looking forward to the next instalment. Big up from the dark end of the Peak District.
Always great to see you out and about fella :)
I love the song of the Sky Lark when you were on the hill after your 1st camp.
Excellent work mate , so envious and looks forward to the next instalment atb Dave
Blimey your tent has no condensation so you recommend one? Aw doing it all on your own,I'd love to do that walk but don't think I'd do it on my own.Beautiful scenery so peaceful and no people -perfect! Hey you've got me talking like a northerner now watching your clips 😂
Very enjoyable viewing. I hope your feet hold up. Get some talc on your feet, that worked for me. Also two pairs of socks helps to avoid blisters. Hope you make it to the end and those 3 little pebbles end up in the North sea:)
