I retired from AA (Former TWA..went to AA 2001) 2004 and flew on a 777 from Paris (CDG) to JFK on my retirement flight...this baby packs a punch on take off! :)
I flew on this flight 12 times a year for 2 years, and yes I remember a few times there was a pilot who would full throtle takeoff, but he didnt have to because the runway in LAX is more then enough for this plane, usually it was a nice and slow glide up to the air.
Wow, just fabulous! Thank you for keeping your camera so still, and for imposing the engine over the background as you did. That contrast of seeing a part of the plane over the receding background is very powerful. It demonstrates too how much space is out there. At that speed, you'd think that by the time of the turn, you'd be well past Catalina, but there it was sitting out there. Amazing to see Palos Verdes, Redondo, Hermosa, Manhattan Beach and El Segundo pass under too. Great work!!!
Great Job, Onecunningfox. Just like being on board! I love the sound of the engines and getting pushed back into the seat on takeoff. Better than an amusement park ride.
Love the low pressure vapor cloud that forms as the engine spools up. My only favorite thing about flying out of or into LAX is the scenery on a clear day.
Great 25R departure, the triple 7 is a beauty. What a great airplane and a good airline, the double A. Thanks for sharing, look forward to more great videos.
Absolutely amazing vid possibly one of the best I've seen, that whine when the engines are increasing in thrust is awesome and the scenery of LA is great . Thanks
I still love this video. I put it in Favorites some time ago because I think it's one of the best around and I watch it fairly often. I love the variety of scenery, and something about the way it's shot makes me feel like I'm actually on the plane. I think you did a great job putting this thing together and I want to say thanks again, I've really enjoyed it.
07:35, appearing Rancho Palos Verdes, San Pedro and Long Beach under a cloud. Los Angeles is beautiful. When I was working for Mexicana Airlines, I enjoyed every flight to anywhere, just like you. Thank you for sharing this video. Saludos desde la Ciudad de Mexico.
I saw this about a year before my own flight to London from Denver....which happened to also be on a 777. I was on British Air. Great flight. I was thinking of this video on take off. Think I had 7 Johnnie Walker/Coke on that flight. Good Stuff!
I always love watching the 777 vids, because my father worked for Boeing when the first began building them. It always makes me wonder if I am watching something he helped build.
Man when I was going from Tokyo, Japan (Narita NRT) to Toronto (Lester B. Pearson YYZ), it was Air Canada that brought me home to introduce my future wife to my family. And let me tell you the 777 is a dream of an aircraft. Just simply the most beautiful aircraft you would ever want to fly on. I sure hope you get a chance one of these days, because it is a just a mezmerizing aircraft. Good luck to your future experience.
What a fantastic video of this beautiful aircraft ..on all my journeys east I have flown in this apart from one run from Singapore on the A380. But this is a classic video....I just wish it was longer!! Well done......
I agree. You know it's almost over. I do however love the sound of all 4 engines on a 747 spooling to full power on takeoff when you're right behind the wing. It's one of the most beautiful man-made sounds in the world.
This is one of the most beautiful take off videos I have ever seen excellent quality on both counts and even better the sound of Rolls Royce Trent engines is music to my ears welldone keep up the excellent work.:)
i just came back today from my first flight. ive been on three now in the first time. i went over there and came back and we had to stop to get on another one. i was a lil scared but it was awesome. i love planes!!!!!!!
Not as far as I know, it was a fleeting visit. Yes the pilot said afterwards that the plane wasn't full at all, and he got to try a full power takeoff, and that they don't do it that often. Made my trip down under very enjoyable! Looking forward to those 777 videos! :D
I love how you can see how powerful the engine is right at takeoff! You can see the moisture in the air being pulled into condensation just inside the intake at 1:46 until the speed of the plane builds...
Well appreciate the info! Sounds like your educated in the field of aviation. I am an aircraft mechanic myself but I have not had the privilege on working on either engine. I do know that Rolls is popular with the triple spools where GE and Pratt seen to prefer double spooled powerplants. Thanks for taking the time to give the description on how to identify these jet engines. Your answer was alot better than the one I got from onecunningfox!!!!
Very nicely done. I sit in business class quite a bit on the media shuttle-JFK/LAX and back on AAL on one of their 15 767-200s-what's interesting is that if you sit aft of the engines as you would most likely do in coach, the sound of the engine is much more pleasant for whatever reason you don't hear the compressor buzzing like you do when you sit fore of them. As you can clearly hear in your video the compressor buzz overpowers the whine/wail of the engines after the initial spool up.
onecunningfox, This video looks unreal. The lighting is amazing. And I love the sound of the blades. Too bad though about the Airbus though. I really liked the A330.
I retired from AA (Former TWA..went to AA 2001) 2004 and flew on a 777 from Paris (CDG) to JFK on my retirement flight...this baby packs a punch on take off! :)
She does indeed! Sorry for the late reply! You probably flew with my mother - (JFK 1992 - 2021, just retired).
How did you retire on an AA 777 when you were fenced in St. Louis at that time ?
Love the sound of the "buzz saw!"
I've always LOVED planes. Those engines sound GREAT!!
Really powerful Trent engine manufactured by Rolls Royce , the greatest British engineering that I always loved with its unique roaring rev up sound.
Trent 892. 0-60mph or 96kmh in under 6 seconds (Light load). 99%+ dispatch rate (cant say same for 787) ceiling FL430 for 43,000ft.
I flew on this flight 12 times a year for 2 years, and yes I remember a few times there was a pilot who would full throtle takeoff, but he didnt have to because the runway in LAX is more then enough for this plane, usually it was a nice and slow glide up to the air.
01:34 love the howling sound
look at those beasty engines
The 747 is still The Queen of the Skies and the most beautiful!
Pursar? Trent's? Soda's? Then you praise your video like there's no tomorrow. Such class.
Wow, just fabulous! Thank you for keeping your camera so still, and for imposing the engine over the background as you did. That contrast of seeing a part of the plane over the receding background is very powerful.

Amazing to see Palos Verdes, Redondo, Hermosa, Manhattan Beach and El Segundo pass under too. Great work!!!
best sound ever. subbed !
Maybe the best takeoff video I've seen. LAX is one of the best cities to take off and land into.
Why does rr say they have quiet engines when their loud he is the winner I my opinion
love the sound of the b777 engines :-)
Great Job, Onecunningfox. Just like being on board! I love the sound of the engines and getting pushed back into the seat on takeoff. Better than an amusement park ride.
Love the low pressure vapor cloud that forms as the engine spools up. My only favorite thing about flying out of or into LAX is the scenery on a clear day.
Ten minutes of my life, NOT wasted! Well done... super-coo!
Thanks
The engines, the winglex, the engine sounds had me all mezmorised

One of the best of these videos ever, what an airplane.
Outstandingly steady camera work and great sound reporoduction. Visually, a really enjoyable video especially of the iconic LAX.
Oh, the Trent 800, love the 777. I prefer the GE-90 but the Trent still sounds awesome.
I love the way you took the shot of the wing cutting through the sunlight at 6:23. Great video.
That is one angry engine. Something about the Rolls and their sounds. Greatest engins sound clip ever.
I just LOVE the sound of those engines revving up!!
Nice ! I used to love the sound of the 707 on take-off. Smooth & like a rocket. These 777's have a different sound.
Love the sound of all three 777 Engine Variants. Also throttling back to Climb Thrust sounds nice :D

An engine at work in his natural environment. Nice reel!
I always love watching the 777 vids, because my father worked for Boeing when the first began building them. It always makes me wonder if I am watching something he helped build.
Really awesome! LA is great, the 777 is great and the AA is great! Thanks for this video!
I loved THIS..I've only flown three or four times, but you GOT it! Thank you....
Smooth! Great sound from the Trents.
Man when I was going from Tokyo, Japan (Narita NRT) to Toronto (Lester B. Pearson YYZ), it was Air Canada that brought me home to introduce my future wife to my family. Very nice! The sound is incredible, and you have a perfect view of the engine from your seat!
Thanks for supporting Boeing, my dad worked on the 777 when they were first produced, so I too am biased. :)
EXCELLENT video, thanks for sharing.... probably the only time I'll ever get to fly First Class!!!
Beautiful wing flex! I can't wait till those are my wings when I'm a pilot! Best 777 video I've seen on TH-cam by far. Nice work!!!
"Fly Delta, they pay better," is said in the industry. When you think of that importance of that across the board, it makes sense. I love them.
AWESOME!!!!... The Zeiss lens makes all the difference. Beautiful quality... great vid. Aloha...
beautiful sound, the most powerful and serious engine, no doubt.
I love how you can watch the wing flex as the plane takes off!
What a fantastic video of this beautiful aircraft ..on all my journeys east I have flown in this apart from one run from Singapore on the A380. But this is a classic video....I just wish it was longer!! Well done......
Wow - those Trents - surely RR have gotta be the best aero-engines on the market today!
Nice. Thanks for posting. I will be flying Cathay in 2 weeks from LAX to Hong Kong on a 777-300ER. I am so excited !
Amazing, almost does not seem natural that something so massive can fly, let alone take off. NIce video
Wow. That is really intense vacuum right in front of the compressor face. Look at it creating it's own cloud.
a great video.. as if i was in the plane... thanks for sharing.. and the engine noise was awesome
i really admire these flights,LA to london, such a long journey!
In-flight instruction 101: Please turn off all personal electronic devices for take off. Loved the video :)
Great sound and Vid! LOVE the resonance and harmonics sounds that are there!
I agree. You know it's almost over. I do however love the sound of all 4 engines on a 747 spooling to full power on takeoff when you're right behind the wing. It's one of the most beautiful man-made sounds in the world.
Great video and superb description by onecunningfox! Thanks for posting!

This is one of the most beautiful take off videos I have ever seen excellent quality on both counts and even better the sound of Rolls Royce Trent engines is music to my ears welldone keep up the excellent work.:)
A heavy takeoff, and it still climbs like that! That's impressive.
Amazing!! Thanks for posting this, I hope you had a nice trip.

Dam, its so much power, incredible nice video right here.
I love that seat view man! I will have to choose the same very soon for my trip overseas. Nice post indeed!
The sound of those turbines whirling up to 100% power from idle gives me goosebumps...I'm flying on a 777 in a couple of days! :D
Awesome - I've always loved this vid of the 777. Nice work

Very nice vid. Love the 'buzz-saw' noise!
I love how you can see how powerful the engine is right at takeoff! You can see the moisture in the air being pulled into condensation just inside the intake at 1:46 until the speed of the plane builds...

Someday, I hope to fly on a 777. But until then, this video will have to suffice. Very nice. Thanks!
Beautiful engine sounds.
Lovely engine sound!
Great video! It felt like I was on the plane..lol...hopefully one day to London!
that little black and white thing spinning around would keep me going for hours lol

I prefer to see more of the scenery from the window instead of the engine, but thank you for posting this.
Great LOOP 4 Departure!
Gorgeous sound
Awesome video, I'm from Argentina, don´t know if I will ever fly on one of these giants, but this is pretty much like doing it. Thanks a lot.
onecunningfox, This video looks unreal. The lighting is amazing. And I love the sound of the blades. Too bad though about the Airbus though. I really liked the A330.
