We had a couple of cedars that got blown down during the Blizzard of ‘93 that were everbit as big as that SPX cedar. Thy fell on my horse barn and Ihad to drag them off the barn, limb them up and drag them out of the horse paddock in the pouring down snow. One time when I got off the tractor, a gust of wind blew me to he ground. I did not have a saw anywhere as big as what you had. I only had my 395 Poulan and 3400 Poulan bow saw, but they got the job done. I drug them out of the horse paddock with my 5000 Ford tractor and a 100’ steel cable with drag hooks on each end. The horses were scared to death. I still had to cobble back up the parts destroyed by the falling trees. I do remember the horses settled down after I got things cleaned up and put a new bale of hay in the hay rack. It was a hell of a day.

Sounds like a tragic accident. Keep this person in your memory for moments of fear so you can rise above it and be super safe.

You do realize that those natives were routinely warring with one another (and killing one another) for the right to "nurture" those lands long before any Europeans or Asians came in, right? I always chuckle when I hear these sorts of sentiments. The ONLY difference in this historical fighting and taking is which particular group had it when the world changed enough to establish actual property rights in a system that lasted. It's basically a game of musical chairs . . . . the winner isn't any better or worse (and consequently the loser isn't any better or worse, nor do they have any more rights to the chairs).

    Wow. Just wow.
What beautiful wood and an incredible work of love.
I've cut cedar here in Kansas and Oklahoma, but the largest has been 24 inches. And that smell -- you're right -- nothing like it. I can only imagine how rich it is on a 1500-year-old cedar. The only thing I've had even close is using a power saw to re-cut 130-year-old yellow pine 4x10 beams. It's intoxicating; old yellow pine has a rich aroma.

If everyone is ok with a giant tree being taken down for Christmas decoration at the White House, etc… what better use can honor this tree! Also it doesn’t look to be green, so why not give it a prestigious place in history that all can see! Great job guys.

Some of the Huon pine from down south or Australian red cedars I've seen in old-timers photos of must have been several thousands of years old.... the Huon is especially slow growing and they were ripping out huge ones on mass for ship building.... there were ones they just left in the river as seconds that would be wayyyyy over 1000

We cannot hold a candle to the level of respect that native cultures have for the environment and nature.... Such a beautiful and moving piece of work!
    Love you all...❤️❤️❤️

Wow... There are many good video's on this channel, but sometimes one comes by that actually touches my heart. Which is kinda strange, because well.... it's simply an image on a digital screen, right? But still... this is so freakin' amazing. Thanks for sharing, Billy ❤
