Only been climbing a few times to cut big branches, first time was on the low side of a big leaner, it took me 3 tries and watching a buckin video to finally figure out ya gotta climb the high side! Totally exhausted and banged up, but i made the cut! Was sore for freakin days

I've run half marathons, done spartan races, cycle 75 miles and in great shape my whole life. When I first started climbing, I found muscles in my legs that I didn't even know were there. It's a whole different kind of conditioning.

Just want you to know how much you’ve inspired me. A little less than 2 years ago I found your channel. I was looking for videos because I had some big trees close to buildings that I needed to take down. Now I’m climbing trees and porting my own 371xp. Got an old power Mac 6 I’m restoring too. I started watching his videos shortly after I started climbing and on his climbing videos as he's cut and pitching or chunking out I realized early on I'm thinking what he's gonna do before he even does. Most definitely gave me the confidence that I'm a natural. Also started watching the Iron horse because of Bucking Billy Ray's videos talking about his old Iron horse saws.I even enjoy the story's that both bucking and Iron horse tell. That guy Iron horse knows his saws. Also really kool he was a motocross rider many years ago.

You know, you make it look so darn easy! I wish you could do a video explaining why some trees kick out and how to avoid that horrifying occurrence! I used to cut a lot years ago, but it only took one tree to put the fear of the unknown into me! It's amazing power and the transference of energy into the cutter is astounding to say the least. That tree kicked right into both of my legs, just above my knees as it threw me back some 20' and the saw about 15' to my side! It only took half a second to fly away, safely! 🙏🏼✝️✝️✝️

Watching you climb was amazing. I don't have a desire to climb and cut at the same time. I'll leave that to you. I do however cut my own trees now. I've always cut trees for firewood, but I really only cut what was already down or small trees. Now that I've been clearing a spot for my new log home I've been cutting them all down with a friend who does all of my spotting. You have really inspired me to even take down some leaners, which came down like a champ. I've been getting better at my undercuts and putting the tree right where I want it to go. Keep those video coming. Thanks again.

Love the dbl line and the prusik has been with me since my early climbing days on trees and rocks. That type of pine cuts nice. I found out how dangerous white pine is as it was the first tree I ever climbed and cut. White pine branches basically explode when you scratch the bark, let alone when you cut them. I learned never to have my arm over a branch when leaving a stub. A 3inch stub 2 feet long rebounded back up and just barely slapped my arm from underneath. Great video. Newbies please remember...it's not a race. Take your time.

Worked in a hardware store , was funny to see people, mostly deer hunters looking for a saw to set-up a tree stand, see those "Arborist's saws" and want to buy one and wondered why they cost so much. I had to explain to some it was a one handed saw, and for "professional use". I steered many toward the basic MS 180 Stihl. And/or if they had money to spend, those HT pole Saws. But I did sell a few of these 200T's as well.

There is so much bad practice going on here. I’m always amazed people have the balls to put themselves on you tube like this. I like this guy but damn, have you never had to bomb out of a tree because of wasps?

I bought the little exhaust pipe from west coast saws for my 200T and was gonna buy the three point dogs from them as well but Johnny had some better dogs in stock at walkers, they made it look and work like a big saw 😎

Awesome vid. Great skill. So my lines are steel cable sheathed in nylon so they can’t be cut with the saw, also being sheathed means you can do a prussock hoop. Loved the old school no chain brake saw you used to fell the stump

Absolutely right, kindness will do this world alot of good. Most of the problems we face these days seem to stem from lack of acceptance.

Buckin- I know you have said it before: Please keep telling young climbers to learn the new safer ways to tie-in. There are plenty of climbers on TH-cam showing a range of safety practices. The old school two-in one lanyard is still great, but it should be accompanied by a climbing line that let's you get to the ground. you know it's smart - like wearing chainsaw pants. I don't care if you do it or not, but new climbers need to be aware of the range of safety practices, and they need to know what bad things can happen so they can make their own choices. I climb differently than you and that's fine - I have learned things from you that are helpful and I'm grateful. Thanks for the videos & have a great day.

I can’t believe you climbed for 20 years with a single line and no accidents. I’ve seen videos of saws cutting through steel lines in less than a second.

Awesome fall! Every time I see you make a down notch I cringe!!🤣 I learned the up notch from you and the control and smooth fall that makes is remarkable!! I rarely make a down notch anymore…I don’t like the fall. And those old Macs…I just don’t think a better saw has ever been made!

Impressive, seems like it would be better for the rope not to be tree colored LOL. Takes some balls to do that.
