so sorry for your and your family's loss Ben. On the hammock, idk if you're able to with the sleeping pad and such, but typically it's best to lie in a hammock at a diagonal to get a straight lying posture. No need get all the circulation to your feet or lie in a 45 degree angle!

We got hit with that really nasty thunderstorm/wind in the wee hours of the morning too.

My condolences to the loss of your family dog. On another note, there is a way to sleep flat in a hammock. Hard to explain, but don't sleep straight in the hammock. Put your head on the right side and your feet on the left side. If that makes any sense. Then you will be able to flatten out.

Ya, do the research on hammock sleeping. There are much better explanations on TH-cam. As for me I think it was my daughter that told me about it.
