@@giathuanleviet4138 The raytracing shader has nothing to do with the reflections. Those are part of injecting some sort of screen space reflections. Everytime people showcase the rt shader make the mistake of using those reflections that apply to every surface indiscriminately, and prople like you also make the mistake of asuming it cannot be disabled. The rt shader uses the depth buffer geometry to apply a kind of raytracing that only works screenspace. There are good examples of it working really well, but it will never be perfect since it's not implemented in engine.
Even after all the remastering and the raytracing stuff Halo still has pretty clean and uncluttered graphics. I think a lot of modern games would benefit from taking aping this sort of graphical style, often times enemies tend to blend in with with the environment with all the clutter objects and overly complex texture work, the solution most often implemented seems to be to add an arrow or a floating healthbar, but that can be quite immersion breaking.
This looks great in some areas but really out-of-place in others. Also, the reticle being reflected on surfaces seems like it'd throw me off quite a bit.

I don't think you realize what Ray Tracing is.
@@Augmental_Art I know what Ray tracing is, but why does it make the ground look wet when it clearly isn't in the original. This was probably done with ReShade, which is a more universal method of injecting graphical effects so it doesn't have the specific information on what should have reflection and what shouldn't (that's my only guess as to why the ground looks wet).
@@Augmental_Art Ray tracing never mean to make non reflectable surface shine like oiled asshole
This is just like one of those shader people use in GTA to make click bait video and make the ground look like something American army would want to invade
And btw i think you are the one that not understand what ray tracing is
@@Augmental_Art
Wow, that dude destroyed you.
I NEED TO PLAY WITH THIS BUT THERE IS LIKE 3 THINGS IN THE DESCRIPTION
That legendary soundtrack
true :D
This looks great in some areas but really out-of-place in others. Also, the reticle being reflected on surfaces seems like it'd throw me off quite a bit.
Everytime I see the RT version it feels like someone splashed pure concentrated awesomeness into my eyes.
Imagine this but on Halo 4, arguably the best looking halo game.
I can't wait for the halo4 mcc release :D
hahaha shut it kid
sean hurley hahaha shut it kid

madcowkiller10 ok
This is the best showcasing of RT and its abilities I've ever seen...wow
Esse jogo até o 3° eh muito foda. E eh, até o momento, o melhor remaster já feito... E com o reshade ficou mais top ainda!
I love all Halo through Reach and even 4 to some extent but the OG will Always hold a special place in my being
I seem to have problems with the depth buffer. It detects it just fine but after a while smaller copy of the buffer appears in the top left corner.
Reshade is an absolute must for this port though.
I have the very same problem. Everytime when I fire a gun. I will try older version of reshade today.
@@carny15 cool. Let me know if it fixes the problem
@@carny15 Did you ever end up finding out if that fixed it?
I am very happy this project happened. I played halo since I was 3 years old. And the only two halo games I'll play with mouse and keyboard are halo ce and halo 2.
I don’t need it. I DONT need it. I NEED IT!
haha :D
Wow ray tracing really makes the music sound awesome
That must be a huge hit to performance. Looks like going from 60+ fps to sub 30fps.
Damn.... It's nuts what a difference good lighting can make...
I'll stick with the classic graphics anyday. This is still cool though.
@Moai cuz CEA's art style isn't consistent with the original
Anywhere with harsh lighting like on the AR looks so good.
So, is this a mod for pc? I thought this was what it looks like directly from 343industries, I was excited for a moment :'(
yes mods are always just for PC.
@@DigitalDreamsyt I mean, I thought this was without mods.
Wait for the series X
@Bryce Czirr
tell me you're joking....
@@BOBBY-xd5wd series x will have mod support?!
It seems to me that ray tracing just applies a shine to everything. It does drop the light intensity though which is great!
Should have shown off the original graphics with ray-tracing
I already did a video with that mate :)
@Chris Goody Go back to your dictatorship....
This looks beautiful, images how it'll look like in the other games, it will be gorgeous
1:29 is all I need to see. The game might look beautiful with RTX, but runs at like 30fps. Maybe when I get a RTX 3080 TI this might be worth it, but it the mean time I'll take 144fps over 30fps.
If you open your eyes it is running at 4K, and NO ONE needs to run this at 4K.
This isn't RTX. Just fyi
Damn the raytracing in this makes the flashlight actually useful
true xD
lol you can see the frames grind to almost a halt when it's on. It looks pretty and all.. but I don't know if I prefer it. Seems a bit too much. A tiny bit more AA and contrast from reshade is more than enough.
Ok boomer
@@deadshota736 what?
Dude i remember when i played it on the first xbox and look this video makes mi cry a bit for the nostalgia
Imagine thinking something this underwhelming is enough to sell people on the next generation of consoles.
Robert Kreiling ???? This is for the PC release
Robert Kreiling It's a re-release of a 10 year+ old collection, on the PC, and this is just some graphic mod/tweak to make it look somewhat closer to the original Xbox game released more than 20 years ago, not the Gearbox travesty later released on the PC. You dolt!
big brain
Brothers, this usurper defiles the holy relic with his heresies, remove this filth
I like how much darker it is
Makes it look more like classic Combat Evolved
true :)
This looks like half baked rt. Certain lighting not showing in reflections, flashlight light not properly reflecting and bouncing off surfaces and creating more light on other surfaces, all this is doing is making thinks looks wet and more reflective
That's because it's screenspace
yeah you can tell it is just screen-space reflections at 2:28 when the reflection in the floor does not allow you to see under the arms of the shield tutorial machine thing
Halo combat evolved anniversary is what got me into gaming. I loved it so much. My dad got me into it I would love it when he would give me ago and he would help me. If I ever got messaged he would message them back sticking up for me. Now he doesn’t play any games 🥺 I miss the old days
It has no care for the properties of the material, it just makes everything shiny regardless of what it is. Super lame.
made by people who have never been outside, most things aren't reflective, not even metal structure unless the coating on it is glossy or chromed
You sound jelly
I agree, it's weird seeing a military ship polished in such a pristine way. Just goes to show - just because you can, doesn't mean you should
@@dani_i8942 the main advantage of rtx is the improved lighting and projectile ambience, the shiny surface is just a small side product of that which most people can deal with, its really not a big dealbreaker
@@solaire7046 This video didnt show any RTX features. In fact, this mod is nothing but a shader that makes everything look like it just rained, glossy and all that. REAL RTX doesnt make everything shiny.
Wow! This is what this game needed! It brings it to life! Now, if we could just get the sound fixed...
I wonder how much of a performance drop there is. Even though it is a far cry from true ray tracing graphics, I bet you cant go beyond 60fps on an rtx 2080ti
Golden Shoe he’s running a 1080ti with no rt cores so it’s a wonder his fps isn’t getting raped
I bet you can.... I get about 90 fps with RTX 2080
@@randomhiphop5055 Nice.
The later half of the first level looks great- gives the game a darker tone- something i always wished halo had
How do I install this i need this
You need to be a patron at McFly's patreon
Unknwn. Give it a week and mods will pour out
@@chiffrygaming yeah no shit wheres the tutorial is what im asking
I like how it makes the floors shine
I'm just subscribing because I want you to do ray tracing with the remaining Halo games
The reshade + RT ON is how I thought the game looked when I first ever played it on the original Xbox
its freaking crazy what ray tracing does for old games damn..... thats insane.
This music never gets old😁
This is so good, next gen games will look amazing with this tech. This will help Infinite and Halo 2 anniversary a lot.
Definitely catches the darkness of the original. Wish this is what is looked like shading wise when it came out, especially for the flood levels
Can already feel my pc about to blow up just by watching this
Wow RT really brings things to life
