Always loved your style and humor. Without getting too personal can you give us a timeline of your life? Work etc? Your the kind of person I could sit down and have a beer with.
Hi Michel. Thank you for showing that it’s possible to fill T slots without the aid of a 3D printer. 👏👏 I have hundreds of questions for you. The most important being, “how is your health, I hope you are as well as can be?”. The second question is, “where do you get the motivation to make weekly videos?” Well done on 10k, subscribers. Here’s to 100k! 👏👏👍😀
Congratulations on 10K. I appreciate your down to earth style, in content and in presentation. Looking forward to your future videos and thanks for taking the time to share. 👍😎
Friday afternoon by the computer at the home office, beer and your weekly video; that´s all I need for each Friday. Great videos and great work. Always interesting to see the shaper at work. I have a shaper myself (of unknown brand- could be an Elliot) which I will be rebuilding in the near future. Keep up the good work. All the best from Iceland
Congratulations on your 10k subscribers, Michael. Now, you need to work towards your 25k by next Christmas. Thanks for your contributions over the past years. And before I forget, Happy New Year from Canada's banana belt. 🤞🇨🇦🍌🥋🕊🇺🇦🕊🇧🇪🎂🏁👍
I have a question for the Q&A: What meter rail museum(?) are you helping to rejuvenate? May we please see more? Are they diesel/electric engines, steam, or what? I’m happy that you are getting recognition. You do a good job of sharing information and I (along with 9,999 others apparently) appreciate your efforts. Thank you.
Michel, congratulations on *passing* 10K subscribers! One recommendation for the threaded holes in the "plugs" would be to insert set/grub screws. That ought to prevent chips from catching in the threaded holes -- a set/grub screw won't have threads to catch chips.
Michel a huge congratulations on the 10K 👍👍 My questions : 1 when did you get started in metal working? 2 and when did you get interested in machining? 3 any other family members doing the same, past or present. Enjoy the new year !
I love your channel and watch all your videos. I am a retired technical paint expert, I notice all your lathes are lacking in their paint coatings and badly have chipped paintwork. If I was local to you then I would gladly spend time and repaint/ respray your machines in their origional colours, I keep my lathe and mill in perfect condition and repaint any areas that become damaged in any paint areas. Keep up the great videos and keep healthy as we need you to continue the great videos.
Great fun watching the shaper chips from the “ride on” camera angle. Congratulations on 10K subscribers. Well earned. Very best wishes to you for 2025 - and beyond! 🎉
Well done 10k! 🎉 A question for your Q&A is one I'm sure we're all wanting to know...how is your health now? Youre certainly looking much healthier, and we don't want to contemplate the idea that you might not make a video!
Nicely done. I would suggest that these screw holes be countersunk and screws be kept in them so that the threads don’t got fine particles in them, making it difficult to get the screws I for removal. Sometimes even air can’t remove them completely. It’s good to see you feeling better.
Hi Rustinox Happy New Year to you Love your channel and really like all your machinery especially your deckel milling machine. I hope you continue making great content and your sense of humour I really like.
Well done Michel on reaching the 10k mark.Thoroughly deserved as a result of your talent and commitment to making machining a fun experience. Take care and here’s to many more subscribers in 2025 and beyond. 👍👍
Thanks a very inspiring video. Your clamping tools on the shaper made me think the same kind could be used on a mini mill too. Thanks for the idea! You were using steel for the plugging. In this shop plastic is a possibility. BUT.... There's a problem. The threaded hole will get invaded by chips.... Solution is pending. Cheers.
Congratulations on the 10k subs, and a special thanks to the other 9999 subscribers who are joining me to promote you to this milestone. Enjoyed the little project very much and I always look forward to my Friday morning videos as a result. May you have a happy, healthy and prosperous 2025 Michel, cheers!
Great content, thanks you for posting all the videos you deserve the 10,000 members and soon to be 10,000!!! My question is, How long have you been working on a boat? Seems like a nice job, but how do you stay warm in the winter in your latitude? Thanks again for all the laughs and videos! Craig.
here is where a 3dprinter comes very handy, and YES!! FINALLY!! 10k subscribers! Congrats Michel!!, i'll celebrate this whit a fine single malt in your honor.. i think a Lagavulin 18 years will be in place
Well done on the 10K subs. People should have given you far more. Making these kind of videos isnt easy at all. Keep the great videos coming and Happy New Year to you
Questions for the 10k party: What first got you interested in machining, and when & how did that happen? Was it a long time interest that you finally started doing later in life, or did you jump right in and start moving metal soon after you caught the machining bug? I'd like to hear more about what got you interested in the railroad stuff too, and when & how that came about? Do you usually volunteer with that railway, or was the work you did recently more of a favor for a friend? I think I've seen all of your videos. ...But I've got a [very] short memory these days, so I apologize in advance for any of these you've already answered. Happy 10k! 🥳 And if you decide to throw an actual party... Well, I'm not likely to make it to Europe anytime soon, but I'll be there in spirit! 😆
Congratulations on reaching 10,000 subscribers! The question I would ask is what is your professional background? How did you learn machining? Was it always your profession, if you don’t mind sharing of course. Thanks!
Hi Michel, Happy New Year and congrats on the 10k subscribers! How did you get your machines? How did you move them to your shop? How do you learn machining? Greetings from Texas!
G'day Rusty. Congratulations on your 10000 + very good news. I was Impressed with all your Lockdown & extension pieces that you have made. Maybe you should do a segment on the tools, accessories & extensions you have made on your various machines. My question if it's not to personal is .. we have seen your Rooster next door, your trailer supplying with metal, & Your Daughter helping you. Are you Still married. Hope this is not to personal. Keep up your Great work Thanks Ted
Happy New Year, Rusti! Congratulations on the 10k mark. You have earned those subscriptions with your engaging, endearing style & humor! 👍 I would be interested to learn about your shaper’s history. Perhaps you spoke about it in old videos, but I can’t recall. 🤔
T-slot protectors can be bought in different sizes and different lengths. The advantage is that you can click them in from above so there is no need to slot them in.
I have the same lathe. This is the first time I have ever run across anyone with a Celtic 14. I think I will make a pair of slot fillers from hardwood or plastic. I am in Alberta, Canada.
Well done on getting 10k subscribers Rusty ! I usually have my compound slide set just a smidge over 1/2 a degree, which means a 10 thou advance on it will take one tenthousandth of an inch off the diameter. Handy for those finish cuts, but don't forget the extra longitudinal travel if you're working up to a shoulder !
Nice little project Michel. Congratulations on your reaching ten thousand subscribers!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 You really deserve many, many more. The question I have for you is simple, who manufactured your shaper? The question occurred to me in this video as I was looking for a name on it. I will be there next week 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉 party!
Nice job on the t-slot covers. I also don’t have a 3D printer, so I machined some from some scrap plastic. You could also remove the round plugs with a magnet 🧲. Congratulations on your 10k subscribers Michel. Happy New Year with good health and happiness. Cheers Nobby
Congratulations on reaching 10k subs! I really enjoy the work you do with the shaper. I hope to see more in 2025. My question is, seeing as how skilled and creative you are, do you have formal machine shop training?
Congratulations on reaching 10K subscribers. You have one of the most enjoyable and informative channels on YT and deserve many more. As for a question, how did you come to start in machining? From your earlier videos you shared that you had worked on a barge. Were you doing any machining work while doing that? Thanks for providing us with these years of entertainment and education.
Hooray, it’s Friday. Time for another episode of Rustinox. Glad to see you’re doing well this new year. Congratulations on reaching 10k subscribers. Here’s to the next 10k. My question is, where did the name “Rustinox” originate? Thanks, Randall in Kentucky, USA.
Nice work, as always and congratulations on the subscribers milestone! Question for the Q&A episode: Shaper, 2 lathes, toolmaker milling machine and blacksmith forge would probably cover almost any possible project - is there any other machine or equipment that’s on your wishlist?
Always loved your style and humor. Without getting too personal can you give us a timeline of your life? Work etc? Your the kind of person I could sit down and have a beer with.
Hi Michel. Thank you for showing that it’s possible to fill T slots without the aid of a 3D printer. 👏👏

The second question is, “where do you get the motivation to make weekly videos?”
Well done on 10k, subscribers. Here’s to 100k! 👏👏👍😀
Well done on the 10K milestone, Michel. I like your modular clamping arrangement for the shaper.
Regards, Preso

Hearty congratulations on 10k subscribers Michel. Very well deserved. I wish I had T slots on my cross-slide. They are so useful for all sorts. Cheers

Great to have you and the shaper back on Friday evening. I hope your health stays good for a long time.

Clean it, oil it, use it. Who cares what it looks like?
Its a shame to repaint the patina that tells a tools story
Question for the party: What is your favorite band? Favorite band to listen to in the shop?

It looks like you have plenty more chips for your new chip receptacle. Bonne Année !

I like those little T-slot clamps for the shaper. ...I'll have to search back and see if you did a video on making them.
I didn't make these. They came with the shaper when I bougt it.
