I'm not and never have been a trucker, but after watching a few of this young man's videos, I think that this is what a REAL trucker should be, and is all about. This guy should be a mentor for all new, or any trucker, out there for that matter.

Ct, was ticketing chicken haulers 50.00 too 100.00 per light out. they all finally baned together and boycotted running thru that state. So did i, aftetr about 6mths or so, they stopped it. Ticketed only mandatory lights. Ct loss a lot of revenue there. Truckers band together and stay strong, these states will eventually stop their bs..

My dad drives a 1988 kenworth t800 with a 350 Cummins and cleans it every weekend and when people ask why he says, DOT stays away from the clean trucks for the most part because that represents a well maintained truck

I drove tractor trailer for UPS for 41 years, both local and sleeper team. Good video, air hose grommets....one of the most stolen items off trailers. Running cross country I carried most of what you have. Check out my photo to see the wreck I survived. Partner was talking on his cell phone and ran us into another trailer at 75 mph.
Brake cleaner for cleaning hands. Lol. Awesome. I don’t have brake cleaner in my work shop. Different trade. But I do have kerosene. And it makes a great hand cleaner. Dissolves most crap.

I have a question about Jake brakes. I just started driving and I use a brand new Kenworth t680 automatic 12 spd. It has an engine brake switch next to the turn signals is that the same thing the peterbuilts have that fckin zing when they hit them? My truck makes the sound but it’s very quiet. Are the pipes the main difference?

You cheat because you're a mechanic :p In all seriousness, I didn't realize you needed that much equipment with you just in case you have to fix something on your truck. If it were me, I would most likely have the essentials that are the easiest to use because I am no mechanic, but could learn basic everyday care of my truck and leaving the other stuff to someone like you.
I did have a CDL but I have farm deferral plates I pull three 40 footers when I move hay or just a 53 foot stock trailer when I go on the freeways or highways. You make truckin look fun man me and the old lady have always thought about trucking just to see how it is but the Pete sleeper cab we have on the farm is not big enough haha. Love the videos, you show the road how it actually is.
Can you show us the inside of your Truck like if you keep extra food or water on hand just incase you're somewhere that you can't get food and you need it. Just wondering and Thank you for all the videos you put out... Drive Safe.....

At this point, my company spring ride volvo tractor is primarily held together with zip ties, duct tape mechnics wire and a prayer that it all holds together another trip. God i needa new truck 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I always carry a small tarp and rain gear because some people dump piss on the asphalt. Nothing worse than laying under trailer and realizing piss is everywhere. I also carry airline stuff in case I rip a line in log truck
Great content you Learn something new from others perspective I made a quick list of the things you covered that I don’t have, also noticed a couple things you didn’t mention that have gotten me out of a pickle, air hose with glad hand connection, tire gauge and a tire plug kit helped me one time at a scale house I also keep a overall set and pumice for washing my hands in case I gotta crawl under the truck thanks again for your videos
Great video!! Also air hose that hooks to the glad hand. Tire pressure gauge and car wash soap and a water hose when you find time to wash!! Truck safe and looking good!
forgot the peice, shifter hi\low air hose and the seals,brass things. some times you'll spring a leak in those little hoses, need to fix that or you'll get a ticket and more. can't shift with out air.

do you keep spare parts and tools for the tires (valve stems and cores), spare DEF fluid, axle/tranny/gear box fluid, etc etc? what about a solar battery charger/maintainer? spare hoses? how about a good electrical wiring kit (I don't even currently own a vehicle and I have a kit)?

Thanks for maken these videos. I am a railroader, furloughed and all i know is haulen freight. In these times with my work history, i am turning to trucking to support my big family. I dont know many people anymore but its cool to be able to see these videos from people like yourself, thanks a ton. My familys life has been turned upside down by the state of the country. I am going into Roehls driver program to get my CDL, wish me luck.
