I'm not a trucker, but I'm CERTAINLY a night owl. So several times I've driven cars across the Nevada desert in the early morning hours - to visit my relatives in SLC, Utah. When driving late at night, it's relaxing because everything is so quiet, it feels like you have the whole world all to yourself on these late night drives. With an extravagant, heavily star-lit night stretching out in the sky above you.

@Ron T time is subjective though. if he is was born in 1991, was 21 while trucking, and is now 30, that may have been back in the day for him! time passes faster the more you age, it is proven by science. when you are 10, one year of your life is 1/10th of your life, when you are 80 it is a mere fraction of your existence. I think your comment indicates some sense that he is trying to portray an image that he hasn't earned, instead think of him as someone who had a different but equally successful experience in the field you love which you can learn from :) much love

So you have hurry up and offer your prayer before the sun fully sets or the prayer is invalid. And if you calculate the time the of the sunset part of the day, its usually pretty short like 30mins or something like that. And if you look at time the prayer clip was shot, in the background, the sun was almost all the way set hence that's why he probably had no choice but to pray in front of his truck in the fueling Isle and I respect him for his sincerity in his belief

7 months was my CDL Class A driving career. #1 most difficult career/job I have attempted. Drove with Werner out of Fontana, CA immediately after Road Runner CDL school. I was not a good driver, I will state that. Decent driving, good-enough driving will eventually get people physically hurt or killed. Thank God I only damaged a Werner truck, a bent rim, and an iron gate that a security guard & I picked up and installed back onto hinges..... All in one day. I'm thankful for living a dream job/on my bucket list of things to try if only for 7 months. 6 months driving with Pam Transport, They treat you like shit. Hours worked don't show on your paycheck, Cause you only get paid when the wheels are turning. Then 16 years driving local, then let go because of High blood pressure and sleep apnea issues, could no longer pass DOT Medical. Now driving a Small Non-CDL delivery truck for the last 10 years of my working career till I hit retirement age. This shit was a waste of time. if I could have done it all over again, I would have chosen another career.

@@Scott6510 research schools and companies figure out where you want to go first. Some companies offer training through that specific company. So there's an option if you're just getting started.
You should have clothes, toilet paper (yes, you read that right),food, bring plenty of water (comes in handy if you're stuck somewhere where you have no way to get water...or if you need to clean up a bit). Bring an electric skillet or a microwave unless the truck you get already has it. (Try to avoid eating the truck stop food as much as possible, better yet meal prep before going out on the road) your body will thank you later.
Exercise everyday even if it's just going for a walk...(when I got out of the truck it took me months to be able to stand for more than a few minutes at a time. Because I didn't exercise, it's not fun just keep active.
Try not to keep too much stuff in the truck, it is a pretty small space even for just one person.
Always! ALWAYS! look at the signs make sure you know where you're going and what roads you need to take. You don't want to end up stuck under a 12ft bridge when you're 13'6".... Unless you want to drive a convertible...ehh...just pay attention to every single sign on the road.
Most of your experience will come from actually being out there with your fellow truck drivers. Be cautious about where you are while you're out there though.... The world isn't as nice or polite anymore...
Pro tip I got from my trainer...
The moment you think you know everything there is to know about the truck... Hang up your keys. Being out there you need an open mind.
You're going to see some beautiful places and some horrible places
And a lot of accidents from cars to big rigs.....I've seen some messed up crap being out there.... Just make sure you don't drive if you don't feel comfortable doing so, and don't let the dispatchers push you past your physical limit. (They will try to you to do more loads than you should be able to do, but don't let them control you. Just remember that you're the captain of the ship, they're not the ones driving....
Anyway I'm not trying to scare you away from being a truck driver. It's honestly a great job, dangerous but great. Just make sure you drive safe and make it home safely every time and you'll be just fine.
Hope this answered some of your questions. Good luck!!!

Great camera work and showing ur trip! Im an outlaw trucker in Saskatchewan, hauling super b clean oil.
Love to watch u while away from home. Enjoyed the last vid of u and ur dad with the oil change/dropping the pan, ect and about ur Tacoma.
Very educational stuff and ur dad is interesting too with his tattoos, preffering 10spd and getting RIGHT in there covered with oil lol. Also like the maintenance issues u go through along with the paperclip sensor trick and how the Cascadias bunk can turn into tables + chairs.
    Keep it up!

It's nice to have all the sensors to keep an eye on your truck's "vitals", but when they start going haywire, it's a PITA to deal with them. My first job was as an asset manager and our company used to move a lot of trucks as well through auctions or direct to drivers. I miss working around em.
