When I’ve used a tire machine, usually you lubricate the tire and the rim before putting the tire on. Would that help putting the tire on manually? Or does it make it more difficult? And was the fire needed or you just having fun? I looked like that tire would have sealed without an issue but I’m looking at a little screen on my phone
Yea lube would have helped on that one I believe. I hate dealing with it, gets everywhere doing it manually for a none profession like me lol. Like I stated I have only done it a handful of time. As for the brake cleaner…. Yea I’ve got them to seal with out but usually fight with it a bit. Haven’t fought much at all with something flammable. And yes it’s more exciting. On the tails I like to carry m-80 “style” firecrackers. Tire comes off the rim light the fuse and boom back on the rim. Idk less work the better.
Would you be able to pry the tires off from the inside of the rim and reinstall from that side so that the rim doesn't get scratched on the side that shows? I've got brand new white painted trailer rims that I'd rather not scratch up if I can help it.
Yea you can, both sides should be the same. Lay out a towel or something on the ground. Hardest part for you will be braking the bead on both sides I think. I’ve used my truck to break the bead by driving up on the tire, but it could leave damage. Also used some lube like dish soap when taking the tire off and on the rim will help a lot.
@@thecheltonchannel5739 I'll see what I can do with them. I'm going to online window shop for some no mar no scratch tire spoons or irons and see what I can find. Another video I just watched a gentleman dipped the ends of the spoons in Plasti-Dip, he says it works well as long as you use a lube on them.
I want to take off good tires to reuse also though so would it be safe to just drive over them? I think I'd want more control of it to make sure I don't mess up the tires. What do you think
I’ll bet the bead breaker was a little more expensive! Lol
A little, just showing it can be done. If one needs to save a buck
Nice
Thanks
After you left your tire on fire for 20 seconds, did you fill the air with the valve core in or out? lol
Valve is in.
@@thecheltonchannel5739 Thanks for clarifying! I think ill give it a try!

I have laid a 2 by on the tire next to the bead to pop the bead by driving up on it. Idk if it could go wrong but it’s worked for me.
You can try to just drive up on it.
