Beautiful beach in Tassie. Great video 📸 but I do agree with the Dragans comment. I have bad knees and the sand scoop stops me from having to kneel down all the time. But it is heavy to lug around. I have a pool noodle around the handle so when I go in the water, it floats and I don't have to pull it through the water 🌊💦. Carry on mate, great videos 😊
Thanks Steph. Agree that a scoop is faster, and definitely required if you have issues kneeling down. For me, I’m happy to trade speed for convenience, especially given the sparsity of targets on the beaches I hunt. Happy hunting!
@@MrDoccus yep, it's on the list. I'm using the handle from a soil leveller thingy and put some bolts through it. It worked alright at first but it's starting to rust and the bolts are seizing up. Love WD40 🤗
Great video once again-I do enjoy them, always pick little tips up👍. Some nice finds there-result. First place I head for are the drain channels, nearly always find something in those. Heading down to my favourite beach this weekend, hopefully some good finds. 😊
Another good video. And appreciate the tips also. As for the scoop, I just think your showing off how good your knees are, but no worries once they start creaking we’ll see the scoop come out. 😅
😂🤣😂🤣 Thanks for watching Edward, and I’m sure you’re right about the knees too! Once they start creaking and groaning (after I’ve wrecked them from metal detecting too much), I have no doubt the scoop will come out! Happy hunting mate!
Thanks Dragan. I’ve used a scoop plenty of times before, however due to the sparse nature of signals on the beaches I hunt, I find it cumbersome to lug around. If the signals were more regular I’d definitely be using a scoop as I agree it’s the faster way to retrieve the target. For me, it’s just a preference, and I’m happy to trade speed for convenience. Hunting in the water is a different story of course - a long handled scoop is a necessity in this situation. Happy hunting!
@Coils and Coins Detecting yep, you've got the point there. I'm not a big fan of beach detecting because of scarce targets and also I'm mostly looking for pre-decimal coins which are very rare on the beach, but I have to admit beaches are beautiful and just walking on the sand is good reason to detect there. Happy hunting mate 👍
Ey up Steve, greetings from UK. I love your videos, not sure why you dont get more views. We are heading to the beach this weekend and we`ll see what we find (we live 70 miles away..!!) Last time there, we found 3 superb toy cars that we gave to a family nearby and the little lad loved them. having said that, we also found so many bottle tops, and coke tins. The little sqeaks are the ones to listen out for not the ear splitting 28s...!!! I also use beach 1 for detecting pasture as it seems to be really stable. i went over a field that i have detected to death and found a 1943 silver shilling and a victorian sixpence just yesterday. Like you, i find the scoop cumbersome on the beach and prefer to use my spade. i forgot how nice it is to dig soft sand. last time i commented on one of your clips, the grass here was waste high, now its boggy and muddy after every dig but Spring is here now. There are two guys i watch on YT, their channel is the metal detecting channel, and the guys are Rick and Mike, they are so enthusiastic and never get disheartened, check them out
Thanks for watching Gary - I appreciate your kind words. Beaches are certainly challenging, as the “good” targets are often free and far between, but I enjoy the scenery and it’s a nice change from detecting on the green stuff! We’re just in to autumn, and soon it will be winter. The ground will be much softer and the digging easier ( I hope). All the best and good luck out there!
Thanks for the scenery and the tips.
You’re welcome!

The carbon fiber handles are really light. ….but a little harder on the wallet.

Thanks Phil! Beaches can really test your patience, but it’s that one nice find that keeps us going back! Good luck out there mate!

Great video mate. I think you're wrong about scoop. You would retrieve targets much quicker and much less kneeling 😉 nox is a beast

You make me nervous when you don’t use gloves at the beach 😂
Sorry about that John!
