Hi guys! This was recorded and posted a few months ago - it is a re-upload, fixing some audio issues that happened to one or two of my past videos. New videos coming soon. :)
Hi Sophie! I think vowels are a great place to start! Mainly because even if you decide to start with placement (which is totally fine to do!) vowels will inevitably still cause problems, so it's best to learn either vowels first, or vowels alongside placement if you start with that :) Personally I learned vowels first, then breathing, and then placement. But if you want to be really ambitious, you can learn more than one at a time. For that I just suggest practicing them separately - so if you're working on a placement exercise, don't worry about vowels or breathing. If you're working on vowels, don't worry about breathing or placement, and so on, haha. Doing so will make you feel a bit overwhelmed, so focus on one at a time (set aside different practice times for each separately) - it'll really help! Here's an overview of the 3 parts of singing, and the order I suggest (which is just a suggestion, you can do them in any order!) th-cam.com/video/RlnrtKlrNdU/w-d-xo.html And for vowels, here's two videos. The first is an in-depth overview of vowels, and the second is more focused on how to shape them: th-cam.com/video/JCgwjBmlHjc/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/nqrC1W77G9w/w-d-xo.html Let me know if you have any questions at all!! You've got this :)
