Hello dear stranger :) Check out my CURRENT SINGING VOICE on my new Music video!!: th-cam.com/video/t_W55Uf0KSk/w-d-xo.html
And check out my current SINGING VOICE with my newest song I made by myself: open.spotify.com/intl-de/track/4XSeLrFUjNxZJGF2Xtij5A?si=e00d79f665ee478f
I am so overwhelmed by the amount of support and touching words here in the comments also in my instagram Dm’s and my Email. All of that is just too much for a 16 year old like me to handle. 2 years ago, when I wasn’t able to hit one single note properly and just sounded like a tyrannosaurus rex laying eggs, I said with so much fear, doubt and desperation but most importantly with confidence that I will prove to myself and to the world that hard work can surpass talent. That 14 year old David said he will inspire millions of people one day.
Fast forward to now 1320 beautiful people decided to follow my journey and 100.000 have watched this video with 6500 liking this video.
Without God's help nothing would be possible. All Glory to Him.
    THANK YOU
But this singing journey of mine is one of the few things I worked on disciplined I also worked on my music producing, composing, songwriting, editing and playing all the instruments such as
Piano, Drums, Acoustic Guitar, Bass, Electric Guitar and Saxophone skills in those 2 years where I also can make this kind of transformation video.
I decided to work very hard on those aspects to create my own songs by myself. And Im very happy to tell you that 7 SONGS are already OUT

I even put more effort into my songs because not only my singing skills are required but all of my other skills. Its especially really hard because I’m doing everything by myself.
I know it sounds like an annoying Promotion but it would mean the world to me if you can support that since I’m VERY desperate because my lack of marketing skills.
So please feel free to E-mail me: davidtran06@web.de
    Or DM me: instagram.com/david.tran06/
Also I saw many comments saying that I should work on my belting because it sounds like I’m screaming. Thank you so much for pointing out and also giving me tips!
I am no brilliant singer yet I do know that. I know what I need to work on. I will get better trust me.
Since many people asked what I do to train my voice…
What I did was watching A LOOT of TH-cam videos such as „how to improve singing“ After watching that I started to sing songs I love everyday and then realized where my weaknesses are in singing which was for example breathing properly and runs and riffs also singing high, falsetto and all that so I made a Plan. Like a workout plan. The TH-camr “Jacobs vocal academy” saved my life he has a looot of videos of like “Chest voice workout, falsetto workout, runs and riffs workout“ and so on.
So I made a Plan which consists a certain different vocal workout everyday.
For example Monday: Chest voice Tuesday: Head voice
Wednesday: mixed voice And so on… I also included the „daily beginner vocal exercises“ which I really recommend.
Before every workout I did a vocal warm up also from “Jacobs vocal academy and after the actual workout I did a cool down.
And after all that workout I sang many songs with Piano or guitar to practise actually singing songs. It’s very hard to force yourself every single day to do your plan which you will put together yourself.
You have to be Consistent that’s key.

Not everybody can sing like Celine Dion/JB (and theres alot of them singing on the streets/bars) but that does not mean your voice cant be iconic(ed sheeran, dua lipa etc). Practice the extent of your voice, once you can use it on command just put soul and musicality then congrats your a singer.

Yeah there is a lot of stupidity floating around that you either have it or you don't. It's typically people that just sang a really long time that sometimes have not much training and can sound great. Then again, these are the people that also can have bad habits. There are definitely people like Michael Jackson i.e., but much more commonly is Kelly Clarkson who covers his sing and can't perform it better than a 10 year old. Nuff said.

To hit high notes you gotta open your jaw downwards and increase air velocity. Maximize the surface area your larynx can produce sound. Don't stretch your neck and DEFINITELY don't look up. Look straight forward and keep your chin down. You'll get there champ. I'm a low baritone (possibly bass) but can comfortably hit high tenor parts. It just takes a little getting used to

Hey man, it's normal to feel frustrated. I've been singing basically since I was born and took a bit of voice lessons. And I noticed that alot of ur problem really stems from ur anxiety. I recommend trying to relax even on high notes. It will feel a little awkward and counter intuitive since you wanna be louder and higher, but when you try to sing louder and essentially scream the song, it leads to poor control and technique. I hope this helps, keep it up king.

@@goldenhourss The ugly truth is that our recordings will always sound worse than what we hear 😔. But regarding support. Besides just learning songs and making sure to take breaths between lines. While breathing, you expand ur stomach but not ur chest. This ensures ur chest has breathing room and lets you have better control. If ur struggling to take in air fast while singing, another tip is to breathe with ur nose and ur mouth at the same time. I personally don't do this as I don't really struggle with breath management nowadays. Hope it helps

If you’re having trouble with talking also, that probably means (but I’m guessing because I haven’t heard you) you are not breathing enough and not using your air efficiently. Speak and sing using your breath and air flow. Gently blow over your finger and make sure you have a similar airflow when singing. Take better breaths and speak/sing with energy. Again, I’m guessing. I'm 54 now, started 19 months ago, It was a long painful TH-cam journey for me, loads of frustrations along the way, but here I am today and I can pretty much sing 95% of most songs now. If your going to do it, just save some cash and get vocal lessons. I managed to do it via TH-cam and Various Online Courses, but if I could go back in time now, 12 lessons would have given me enough to correct all the things I was doing wrong. I can now sing low, high, mixed voice, it all came together for me, so it is definitely possible, as long as you still have a head voice, i.e, can talk like mickey mouse, its not too late to be able to belt high notes, in a fuller sounding chesty mix, once you learn how to do it.

Breath Support, Resonance, Placement, pharyngeal are all things I wish I had learnt in the first few months, and done the exercises on the back of them. If you do the exercises without learning all that stuff first, 9/10 you will be singing from your throat and doing them wrong and getting no where. I don’t think anyone should ever be ashamed of their voice. You know the saying that the eyes are the gateway to the soul, for me, the voice is the gateway to the heart. This timeline of your voice is a reflection of how you’ve grown as a person, even if I don’t know what you’ve been through. My point is as humans we all grow, our hearts mend more easily as the more pain we feel the more we are able to come to terms with it and be stronger. We become better people much like our voice becomes better.
The voice is a reflection of you, your identity and what you love, and from what I can hear… it’s bloody beautiful mate, keep it up ❤

i know this was meant in a complimentary way and i'm not trying to criticise your analogy (although I guess that's what im doing), but personally to me that makes it sound like if your voice is ugly, so are you, your identity and what you love, which understandably creates more insecurity/shame. but the growth analogies are very nice and true, and I also believe David has a gorgeous voice

    • @LittleOwl2003
      @LittleOwl2003 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@nel2670 It’s not a subject of beauty, just because someone sounds slightly pitchy or has an unpleasant sounding voice, their voice is their voice, and the fact it is still their voice is what is beautiful, one’s own identity is still something to be proud of and plus voices can always be improved upon, how far it gets them is subjective. My point is there is no ugly voice, at least for me, think about it, sometimes especially in Musical Theatre or any kind of Acting, voices are all for the purpose of shaping the character so whether it is unpleasant on the ears, it’s still serving it’s purpose that sticks with you and perhaps endears you to it

Gotta say it brings a tear to my eye. I'm in the exact same situation you were at the very beginning. I thought I could sing until I recorded myself and heard how absolutely awful I sounded haha! It kinda broke my heart and I quit singing for about a month. I honestly even just quit talking. I felt I didn't deserve to speak, cause I've been singing for a lot of my life. Nothing serious just basic singing. And I still sounded like a deaf dog. But the last two years I've been really wanting to get lessons. Your progress is really need to see! My only tip in your higher register is to relax your neck. You have a great sound, you are engaging a few too many muscles in the neck which MAY tire you out easier. You can see what I'm talking about around 12:57 - 13:01. A practice tip that helped me is to sing on "aye" as if calling out to someone and then on the vowels of the note, just so you get that nice open sound. Like I said, really awesome progress and you have a great sound, just be mindful of potential tension issues.

I feel your frustration. I have to admit, all the things that you struggled with came naturally to me as a kid. I sounded good. Then puberty came and hit me like a bullet train and suddenly I can no longer sing how I used to. My chest register was the only register I could sing in and not choke myself while doing so. I am now 21 and there's a lot I've realized. People can sound good and still not sing well. Sounding good is something you are born with but singing well is something that takes time and effort to master. Fortunately, with practice, I can now sing in my falsetto and head voice once again.
Being forced to sing in my lower register for the rest of my teenage years also taught me this: it's okay if you don't sound like other people---you're not supposed to. You're a great singer David and it's great seeing you just close your eyes and sing your heart out.

hi ! lyricalsinging student here. it's awesome seeing this much willpower and passion put into singing ! i guess you know it, but if i can give any piece of advice, it would be to try to get rid of any useless movement you are doing that create tension in your body. you are the instrument, you should be stable. it would be unthinkable to change the shape of intrument while playing it, so try to be as stable as you can while singing so that your instrument stays the same. no face expressions, no shoulders movement. nothing that you dont need. (paradoxically, singing while walking around the room is great to get rid of those tensions in the body, making your voice sound more free). just let the sound go out, never should you force any sound.
keep up the good work, it's really motivating !

Thank you so much for this. There are hardly any videos of voice transformations online, and it's really helpful to use this as a reference as I train my voice for the same goals. Your voice is really beautiful and I admire your dedication!!

I can't imagine what it's like consistently listening to yourself sing for training. I never used to listen to myself sing when I first started out (at a young age) and I shudder anytime I hear myself singing in the past (one year ago+)
    Good on you!

I love this. I feel like one of the hardest things with getting good at singing is that yes, youre gonna have to sing loudly, badly, and often for a LONG time before suddenly all the elements of tone, breath support, pitch, mouth and tongue position, and general musicality line up!
Im 1 year into raling voice as a 30 year old after a lifetime of singinf in choir. I loved xhoir becauae i coule blend in and could nevwr sing at home because my bro and sis we babies when i was in middle school. It has been wild to sing solo, loudly, and actually get to know my own voice.
This is will inspire me to stay on my journey as i too want to be able to belt out songs.

Also, my vibrato tip! Seems like you sing primarily in your chest and head voice. Chest can be hard to get vibrato on as it requires so much more AIR to sustain the notes. I'd try holding a note in a comfortable head voice range note. Then, think about "undulating" the sound out about a half step back and forth. As a guitar player, when you try to get vibrato, you mash you finger into the string and manually bend the note. The same thing happens with singers, but it's taking place in the vocal chords by way of air support.
So, you're gonna keep wobbling the sound. Won't sound like vibrato at first, but focus on speeding up the back and forth on the notes. Really support your air. I think of it almost like if youve ever had a hose. To get the water come out harder you put your thumb on the edge of it. That builds pressure in the Jose and the water comes out faster. Same thing with the voice "support" needed for vibrato. What's really happening is balancing that intra abdominal pressure sufficiently that you can manually manipulate it, a la mashing the string on the guitar.
If also just recommend holding single notes for counts of 10. Not even worrying about the "wobble". To have enough air to get to the end, you start really focusing on that "support" aka "sustained pressure". I think this is why so many people say vibrato comes "naturally" when you have healthy support. It's not natural, it's just the ability to control the "water coming out of the hose" for a particular sound, note, technique

Great progress, my dude! I've been on the same journey myself, started 2 years ago... I know how hard it is and how frustrating it can be from time to time, especially when you got those dips and when shit stagnates for a while.
Let's continue with the consistancy and become great!

Dang. I can feel the pain you've been through. Not losing the will to keep improving and refusing to stay discouraged is a very strong feat. I'm still working on my voice constantly with vocal exercises found on youtube. I still have problems transitioning to my mixed voice smoothly and I find it hard to do riffs and runs. I wish you the best in life and hope that we achieve the results that we so strive for.

Keep going bro. Dedication is the key and you've got that. Here are a couple tips that have helped me:
    * Sing over the pencil technique. This helps for improving the resonance of your voice.
    * Use TH-cam's playback speed feature and the TH-cam Looper chrome extension to slow down and practice difficult parts of a song on repeat.
    * Do daily singing exercises in chest voice, head voice, and mixed / blended voice registers.
