- This video shows how I fixed my Microsoft Surface Pen after the tip had apparently died. I found this recommendation at / surface_pen_tip_not_wo... . This is the 2nd pen that I've had the same issue, and I was excited to get it working again!

It worked for me, too. I tried everything, reinstalling Windows, downloading and installing this driver and that. Nada, nothing worked. Who knew that banging the pen on the ground getting all your frustration out over it not working would actually fix it!!! Pro tip: I didn't tap the thing lightly, I mean I did at first but it still didn't work. It wasn't until I started banging it so hard that the pen eventually blew apart: battery went one way, body of pen went another and there I was holding the eraser part. I thought f$%k it surely won't work now. NOPE!! I put that bish back together and viola!!! It worked, it actually fff'ing worked. 🤯

I've had two die for good and have recently switched over to aftermarket pens

It worked for me. started with 2 gentel one, but 3 good smacks to the pen back to life. working now!

This should not work as a fix, but it did😂, you just saved me a lot of money bro. This pen costs R1800 in South Africa (99 USD at the time of posting this comment)
I agree that it shouldn't work! But note that the "fix" might be temporary. After mine died for good, I've been using www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0987J23K1/ for about 1/3 the price with good results.
its not working and I just look stupid hitting my pen on the table😭
I found it to be a temporary solution, but one that did fix my pen long enough to get a new one! I also no longer buy Surface Pens, but have switched to RENAISSER Raphael 520C Stylus Pen for Surface for 1/3 the cost.
"Fixing" might have been short term, as the same pen is now not working again even with additional smacks!
