    • @oztabletpc
      @oztabletpc  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      First I would try changing the battery. If that doesn't work, sometimes the antenna wire inside the pen barrel breaks causing the issue you describe. Unfortunately it's not really possible to repair. I've seen it happen a few times over the years. The Pro 3 pens were especially noted for this.

    Hello! I just purchased a surface pro 7 and have been binge watching your videos. I was very undecided between this and the new iPad pro but ultimately went with this mainly for the portability and access to Photoshop etc. Just wanted some advice for a couple of points: is there a tip for the surface pen that's closest to the apple pencil e.g a hard tip? I don't particularly enjoy the friction with the standard rubber tip and just want the best experience for writing notes/ small diagrams. Could you link one? Im in Australia too. I love the eraser so don't want to switch to a different stylus.
    Would you recommend a screen protector that might enhance the surface pen experience? E.g. the paperlike one for the iPad?
    And lastly - could you recommend anyway for me to get mobile/ android apps on the surface pro? Firstly I can't find a good calendar/ organisation app particularly one that I can use my pen for - I used Google keep, calendar, photos etc alot on my iPad and would love to have this on the surface pro. I also have subscriptions to certain medical reference apps where the mobile application allows me to download offline content as the internet is quite flimsy at work. Thanks so so much!!

    • @oztabletpc
      @oztabletpc  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Whoa! Huge comment, lot's of questions! Thank you! Before I start, let's keep in mind that a Surface is a completely different beast to the iPad. It's more like a better Macbook (that doesn't need an iPad too) than an iPad. Through that lens, a lot of things change. But firstly, there are 3 different pen tips styles and they come in a pack. The hardest tip is the one you want. Nice and fast on the screen, but still less than half of the noise of the Apple pencil! You'll find that at a Surface retail store (JB, HN, Good Guys in AU). For calendar, I use both Outlook and the Windows Calendar app. They each have their advantages. The Windows Mail and Calendar apps are touch and pen friendly and do a pretty good job IMO. My suggestion for Surface would be to ditch Google Keep and go to OneNote, Sticky Notes. I understand that this might be a big ask. Since Google refuse to make apps for Windows, I tend to steer clear of them. These days Microsoft make apps for every platform, so for me their products beat Apple and Google every time. Instead of Chrome, I use Microsoft Edge (built on the Chromium engine), but you can use Google's browser extensions in Edge. So that might get you started with Keep etc. I can't comment on your medical subscription apps, but it would be worth checking with those suppliers. There may be an option for an app from the Microsoft Store or something that you can download directly from the supplier. Also, if a reference is offered online, there may be a way to keep it available offline in the browser. It would need a bit of research... Unfortunately the Microsoft Store is nowhere near as populated as the App Store on iPad - perhaps because it is not a walled garden, but one of many options for obtaining software. But things are slowly changing on that front.

      @@oztabletpc thank you so much! I have purchased those tips and look forward to receiving them. I love google photos and so started using keep and the calendar but I have to say, I'm not a huge fan of those. May I ask - which smart phone do you use?
