about 1960 (13 years old) I discover The Ridge Rink in north Seattle, if I wasnt at a dance I was there. I am sure it had something to do with my love of Hammond organs. B3's and skate dancing just go together
I don't like the sound of a Hammond connected to a tone cabinet. I like the sound of one playing through a Leslie 122 or Leslie 147 (something like that).
Granted, this was about organs and organists, but it is too bad everything played was blues music, or as it was called "Boogie" or "Jersey Bounce" music and shot during crowded all skates. I wish you would have also shot some of the dance skaters (of whish I was one for many years) doing the traditional skate dances.
You know...I have been on this earth 64 years. And a musician all of my life. I have never been able to find a clue on how to please everyone...all the time. The fact is...I was shooting myself...for ACTION shots. And got them.
Oh man ....! I just went back in time to Saturday night, 1970 , Mattoon I’ll. The rollerskating rink....❤️❤️❤️
Miss the old rink and friends from there!!!
Thank you Bill Butler for releasing us from this .
I really enjoyed all 10 minutes of that video !!
The best shuffle music in the bill clark style
A piece of american music history and inspiration for us young keys players working bands
Great video. I lived about 30 mins from this rink.
Oh, those were fun times at the roller rink!
Is that Marty...behind in the music room?
It is Marty...with Corey, Ralph and I was the guest organist.

Yes A100..working as new..with a dozen Leslie cabinets mounted around the skating floor. Sounded great...fantastic time!
It could be an A-105
It WAS a great night! I have some more for later videos...but, this was the best look at the crowd from the booth.

I wish the other person that recorded video that night would have recorded "Bad Boy" from down in the rink, too.

Looks like a nice safe gathering of normal people, like it used to be in the USA.
Which organ were you playing? It looks like a Hammond A100 or something, judging by the reverse-color keys on the left and the drawbars.
Nothing does it like a Hammond!
Until you play a WurliTzer TPO.
What is the name of the song Mr. Dumic and Mr. Brown are playing at the end of this video?
I have that same keyboard. I love it. I only with that the keys were make stronger. They feel like plastic spoons.
