    As someone who struggles with depression and therefore motivation to keep up with my tarot practice at times, it was very encouraging to hear you two say that it isn't about the amount of times you do a practice, but the fact that you're connecting with the practice on a deep level instead. I'm excited to see where you guys take this series! ❤

      YESSS this makes so much sense to me ... like for me, in numerology, 4's are stability but 8's are structure (4 + 4, stability on top of stability = established structure) and I lovvvve this way of looking at it!

    This is super potent to me right now. As I watched this I came to the realization that I don't really feel connected to much these days. I have things that I do and get enjoyment from. I enjoy the art, handling my decks, and being involved on the social media aspect, but I don't feel really connected. A huge part of that is my mental space over the past 3 years has taken a beating. I will be taking a good look at what Practice needs to be for me to re-form that sense of connection and intent.

    I LOVE this 💕 You guys compliment each other so beautifully. Very excited for all the episodes to come! For me when I hear “practice” I think “practice makes perfect”. Don’t worry, I’ve abandoned the idea of perfection long ago lol! BUT now when I think of “perfect” I think of being in flow so for me practice is a stepping stone towards getting into flow… if that makes sense 💖

    I personify everything! My vehicles, my sewing machines, my art, my books, my cards, etc.😊 This is a great collaboration. I'm looking forward to the series. If anyone ever saw my "practice" they would wonder if I had one at all. Sometimes I do a reading daily, then I won't pull a card for a week. But, whether I actually do a spread or not, I am always shuffling and playing with my cards. I love having them in my hands and looking at the images. Some days I just ask them for a story. Often I get a channeled message through them. Occassionally, the artwork will inspire me to create something. There are so many facets to using the cards. They're my happy place. I look forward to gleaning new ways of using them.

    A great idea! Thank you. Ive only been reading Tarot a little over 3 years. Ive taken many (like 6?) classes, some beginner, some intermediate, but this idea of practice was never really broached. I struggle still to find my own "practice," especially since i dont have that in person community very often. And I focus often on the shoulds and not the meaningful stuff. Sad its a whole month til the next one! Ill be patient! Looking forward to the personification episode!

    For me, it's about cultivating mindfulness and remembering that only my Egoic self gets caught up in all the 3D world energetic cords attached to time. My Spirit self doesn't conceptualize time. As long as I'm in a mindful state, anything I ritualize or practice for myself- whenever I do it and no matter how regularly, or not-is happening in the Now, spiritually.

      Thanks, Dawn Michelle!!!🥰🌞 I've been following you since your Boho Tarot days of last summer/early autumn-and Lisa, Dani, Dustin, Kelly etal, as well. The first video of yours that I saw back then was a deck modification! 🤦😂 After that, I saw a video of Lisa's where she talked about wanting to modify her deck... just like yours!!! 🤦🤦🤦😂😳 I think it was the Druidcraft Tarot. While I still don't see myself modifying any of my decks, my feelings about deck modifications has evolved drastically since last autumn. 🧙 I am sooo excited about this new series you and Lisa have just started. I'm here for it! Can't wait to hear the wisdom, born of blood-sweat-and-tears experiences, that you both are about to impart! Thanks for your transparency and willingness to share!!!💐💜

    I don't know if anyone else said this in the comments but I think a good word for what makes something a practice is the intention behind it. Anyway, this has come at a great time for me because I haven't had a tarot practice for the last 8-10 months and last night I just felt pulled to start again.
    Edited because you both say intention later on 😅

    This was wonderful ladies. I enjoyed hearing your thoughts on this. I totally agree with pretty much everything you have said here. There is tons I do not share. There were months and months that I didn't feel safe to share any of my journal because the amount of personal things that were in there. Because I am in a much better place now because of all that work, my journals I feel have been much lighter. I think practice is what I do because I choose to in my life for various reasons, it doesn't mean that it is this rigid routine, but it is a commitment to myself. I get super bored with routine actually and love to change things up. As far as the beauty in my journals that is also part of my expression because it brings me so much joy to be creative. This is also something that I have done for years. I have had many businesses over the years that revolve around my artistic expression. Being artistic and creating art is more of a need than a desire. I can easily become depressed if I cannot express myself in some sort of artistic way, and I have always been this way. I even dream about design and interior decorating and designing clothing and products and all that. That isn't for everyone, and if someone isn't doing that it doesn't mean that their practice is any less valid than mine or if someone expresses themselves through words it doesn't mean their practice is more valid than mine. It is all personal and based on our own individual personalities and souls expression. I look forward to this series, from two of my most favorite ladies. 😍😍😍

    What a great series, can't wait for the next one!! Im still pretty new so I'm experimenting with what different ways and places to establish a practice. just set up a little table in my craft room for all my 'goodies'. Due to some back issues I also take my cards to my 'comfy' chair in the livngroom but then think this isn't so 'spiritual' or a real practice but I guess it doesn't really matter as long as you know your intention and you're doing it. Thanks for doing this series!!

      I deal with disabling chronic illness. Most of my readings are done while I'm in bed and using a lap desk. That's where I'm the most physically comfortable, which means I can focus and concentrate the best. I can't process my readings if I'm physically uncomfortable. Doesn't make them any less spiritual. We don't have to make ourselves physically uncomfortable or debilitated for our practice to be "spiritual." 💖

    • @DawnMichelleTarot
      @DawnMichelleTarot  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely! It’s not about the stuff or the why, it’s about the why that makes it meaningful. I pull cards all over my house. When the intention is there, the work is meaningful. 🥰

  • @WhitsundayOracle
    @WhitsundayOracle ปีที่แล้ว +4

    A great video with plenty of food for thought. I agree with your comments on frequency - practice does not need to be at a set regular time at all. For me personally, tarot practice is however one of the most important aspects of developing one's tarot knowledge - as the saying goes, practice makes perfect, so it does imply some sort of regular attention to this work. And I think this is a really important aspect that needs to be more showcased on youtube, hence why I started my "tarot in practice" playlist series - it might be actual readings, it might be ritual work, it might be tarot spreads, but it all has in common the practical application of tarot in day to day life. Thank you for this discussion 😊

      @@DawnMichelleTarot Thank you, it's a bit of a mixed bag of goodies - but basically encompasses readings that I do or spreads that I try, and how I interpret the cards I receive. So it's very "hands on" if you like. I guess because for me, when I started on the tarot journey - and even now - I am fascinated by the actual process of a tarot reading - the ritual, the shuffling, laying of the cards, and how a reader interprets those cards in the context of their position in the spread and question.

    Such an interesting discussion on routine, habit, ritual, practice. One thing about practice, for me, is somehow through the practice, I seek to improve. To improve the parts of me I want to become better (not the best word for what I mean). A natural process. Thank-you too, for mentioning authenticity as not sharing everything, but sharing your truth for what you choose to share. Knowing boundries, mine and others in my life is an important part of my life.....dare I say practice? lol
