I'm not sure how to word this.... But you have a great way of explaining/teaching without talking down to / making ppl feel stupid or condoning. Much love 😁💖
The great thing about this (besides all the positive comments already stated) is that it gives a glimpse into a tarot practice. Knowing the meanings of the cards is important, but so many Tarottubers stop there. This video isn’t just about how to read the cards in a reading, but also how to incorporate tarot readings into your life meaningfully. Thank you so much. You’re a great teacher.
This is one of my all time favorite videos for all of tarot tube…I have never seen a video on this specific topic and have always wished someone would walk through a reading for themselves. So very good, Lisa - thank you! 🤗🤗🤗
Totally agree Lisa with the incorporating the guidebook even when not a beginner. Sometimes I feel pulled to read the guidebook for a particular card and a message is on the description for me. I also don’t read them always cover to cover so it helps me connect with my deck more. I also don’t read reversals so the guidebook can sometimes help me if I’m called to read the guidebook and the shadow aspect or reversal meaning really resonates.
This has happened to me a few times this week. What do we do if the reversed meaning resonates more?? Or is more relevant? One example for me is I had a card that SERIOUSLY was way off and didn't resonate at all. But the reversed felt right... I thought hard on it and couldn't figure it out or connect the dots. The reversed meaning felt right though. I couldn't help but worry I was wrong in that and somehow i was missing the message from the original upright meaning. I have this same concern is the card comes out reversed but the upright resonates more. Looking for advice. I'm new to reading. 😍
Thank goodness for this. I love using the guidebooks. Sometimes my brain is tired and I don't feel like"going with my gut/intuition" every single card pull. I can't wait for the next one. Have a great day!
I deal with fatigue and brain fog from chronic illness issues. I use the guidebooks when my brain is just too tired to figure it out without some support. So helpful! 😊
Thank you so much for doing this. I've been studying the cards for so long, years, but my struggle is I don't know how to put the story together for a reading. This is so helpful.
I’m totally with you on the way you utilize guidebooks. They can help me get a bit more on the objective side in readings for myself. There can be so much wisdom and magic in guidebooks. They can add or widen perspective to my initial hits and the readings can build that way.
This was great, Lisa! 🥰 I love how you incorporated the guidebook. It speaks to those who believe you must put it away at some point... use it, embrace the guidebooks!! I would like to see you use the Wild Unknown Tarot for one of these! 😋
This is basically my process for my daily guidance spread. I pull an oracle card for the Energy/Focus of the reading. From that I decide what I need to ask my tarot deck for the next 2 cards. Card 4 is from Sacred Creators Oracle usually advice or lesson with context from all the rest. I LOVE videos on how people actually use the cards in their practice. 💜 Also, I would love to see you do a spread with Dream Visions tarot. I can't justify getting it right now, but I am seriously lusting after that deck. Lol.
Finally!! I feel the same way about the guidebooks. I do that as well. Especially if I feel called to look at it. Regardless if I am reading for someone else or myself.
That makes so much sense. I sort of stumbled upon doing conversational type readings, and it’s true: I get so much more out of them. It was great to see you explain your process. You have such a clear teaching style. I look forward to seeing more of these videos, especially using decks you lean into more intuitively.
So helpful! Thank you! I would love to see the Gentle Tarot in this series. I continue to be completely in awe of that deck and originally fell in love with it watching your walk-through 😍
Heavy life stuff got in the way of my tarot journey and I put it on the back burner. I’m back to watching all your training videos and i’m loving these “new” ones (new for me). I just want to say thank you. I really appreciate your guidance through these videos. I need to take the leap and take your full course. I’m hoping to do it this summer. However, these free videos are such a giving thing and it doesn’t go unnoticed. blessings
OMG, yesterday I watched your, energy, obstacle, advice reading and this morning pulled the exact spread as in this video and had a hard time interpreting it, until I watched this video🤣. How weird!
Oh man, you did it again. I’ve been trying this type of reading for myself for a few days now and I really feel like it makes my reading a lot better. I was thinking, could this also be used to have a conversation with a Deity as it is basically talking to someone/something and getting an answer? Lots of love to you, Lisa. 🥰
Excellent video! So Helpful! You talked about exactly why I've had such difficulties with drawing a single card of the day without any kind of context. I need some context. I ended up realizing my style does best with card pairs or trios, kinda like Lenormand style reading. That way even if I don't have a question, the cards themselves give a context in relating them to each other. I also typically use an Oracle card for a message and then draw 3 Tarot cards for anything else I need to know or consider about that message. Works really well when I don't have an actual question to ask. But I also do readings a lot like how you showed in the video, pull cards which leads to another question, which leads to the next question, etc. I just tend to work with 2-5 cards for each question rather than single card pulls. 😊 And I very much use guidebooks just like you showed. Almost a form of bibliomancy, looking for what "jumps out" at me.
Your use of the guidebook and how you discussed it was super helpful to me. I'm new and have been using the guidebook in a similar way, reading and letting my intuition tell me what resonates for this specific situation. I thought I was still being way too "bookish" and had to move away from that, but now I feel better just continuing practicing this way and find what works best for me :) I also loved this conversational method! I look forward to seeing more of these videos, and I'm definitely going to try this method for daily/weekly readings.
Awesome sauce! I have been working with my cards heavily over the past few weeks and I feel like I have developed a similar process. Regularly reading for myself has made me feel more joyful overall. It's good that you pointed out that the guide book is not just for beginners, that idea and others like it create limitations in our readings, and I think we all want our readings to be as insightful as possible. I also like how you suggested pulling one card at a time and letting the cards inform each other. Your videos truly brighten up my day and I am going to become a member!
Hi Lisa. This was so fun. You beautifully explained daily card pulls, what sort of questions to ask, and how to expand the reading. Guide books as bibliomancy? 🤯 Mind blown. It's so obvious but I've never thought of it that way. I loved this.❤️
Hi Lisa x x This was so, so good! Perfect for where I am in my tarot journey. I struggle hugely with finding a focus for my daily draw so this is really inspirational. Thank you so much. Love 💕 to you and Peggy. Sharon (Milton Keynes, UK) x x x
I love the clarity of your explanations and that I can put this into practice right away! Yes, thank you, thank you! I would love to see more "building a conversation" spreads, but changing up your starting question and follow-up questions. Do you ever do what I've heard called a "waterfall spread" where you build the spread over multiple days, maybe just pulling one card a day, but adding it to the previous cards? (that appeals to me, because you can end up with a bigger spread for yourself, but don't have to interpret it all at once). For reading for others, I'd like to see your "heart of the matter" spread where you just do the central cross from the Celtic Cross (and other all-purpose spreads that can apply to lots of situations). It would be great if sometimes, as you went through the reading, you mentioned challenging things a client might say in response to specific cards/interpretations, and how you might respond. And also if you demonstrated how a card might come up that seemed to go against the flow of the reading up to that point, having a brain block with it, and how you might recover. Decks I'd love to see you use: Rainbow Heart Tarot, Tarot Renard, Tarot of the Mystical Moments, Tattoo Tarot/White Sage Tarot/Wild Unknown Tarot (especially the pip-ish minors in all three of those decks), Affirmators Tarot, Sasuraibito Tarot, and Darkness of Light Tarot. For less RWS decks (if you end up going there): Gentle Tarot, Tarot of Light, Forest of Enchantment Tarot, Witches Wisdom Tarot, and Dreams of Gaia Tarot.
I’m not sure how you were able to riffle shuffle this deck. that was impressive!!! 🧐 i would love to see Dream Visions in this series. I’m not sure if that deck is good for this type of series, but it’s so pretty. I just want to see that deck in use, so I can fantasize about owning it 😂
I absolutely loved thia video, this is so helpful! I've tried the daily conversation twice now (in two days hahah) and it's just what I needed! Thank you so much!
Such a fantastic video! 😻🤩💖 Thank you. Not ten minutes before I started watching, I'd been thinking about how much of a workaholic I am and how little of my time I've given to my partner the last few years. So not only was this educational but it was like having my concerns spoken to. Also, "once a month" videos made me immediately think, "what about if we get assigned 'homework' to work with this process and share our results on Instagram, TH-cam, a blog, Discord or whatever with your hashtag?" It would build community and a shared goal tends to help hold people accountable. This could lead to future classes, webinars, a book, and so forth. Of course, as an author and supply chain teacher, I always think about how to create income streams from ideas and get as much return on your time investment as possible.
Thank you so so much Lisa! i'm newer to tarot and have been stuck on daily draws. i've been wanting more meaningful, in depth info but trying spreads has been difficult as I have had trouble connecting the cards. After watching this video, I tried your process for conversational readings and it worked so well! I also pulled an intention card and that really spoke to me also. This was so helpful and I can't wait to see more videos in this series. Thank you again!
I dont remember you saying it in previous videos - but I loved how you said "Welcome to my reading table" I totally felt as if I was across from you - Thank you 💖
You're welcome!! :D I usually say that in my client readings and since I'm kinda bringing you into that space with me in this series, it felt right! :)
This was amazing! It's really practical advice and you're an excellent teacher, can't wait for more of these videos! And as usual Thanks for sharing your wisdom and expertise xxx
I adored this! I really appreciate you sharing a bit of your personal practice with us, I do love looking at decks and talking about deck theory, but seeing example readings is super helpful to me (and I love seeing how different people do things, even if it's not a way I do things...like different ways of shuffling and dealing cards in a reading!), but also seeing concrete examples of: I drew this card and this is how I interpreted it, in this moment. I would love to see you show some examples of using decks where some card's images buck tradition. For example, I have the Cute and Creepy tarot, and the 8 of cups trips me up a little (I'm mostly intuitive, but as I've been becoming more familiar with the 'traditional' meanings, sometimes I struggle with cards where those two meanings don't line up). Or even decks like the Oriens, where it's a tarot, but it's also an animal oracle and as much of the meaning of the card is drawn from what the animal represents as from the tarot card....I guess I'd love to see how you work with decks that fall outside of the real solid RWS meanings.
Great feedback, thank you!! And I've had a few requests for decks that stray from the norm so I suspect we'll see some of that covered organically as we go forward!! And I can add Cute & Creepy to the request list ;)
This was great! This is exactly the level of insight that I need. For daily draws -- I often draw a tarot card and then an oracle card. I think of the tarot card as my "main course" for the day and the oracle card as "with a side of _______" I'm finding that a useful way of looking at things. Can't wait to see more!
THANK YOU! Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've watched your tarot with training wheels and felt like I was ready, then I've been doing the one-card daily draws and I was still left confused and empty. You just gave me context for what, why and how to do readings for ourselves!
love that you picked the MW tarot, really appreciate seeing, as it was my first deck i connected with! would love to see good karma or gentle tarot as deck recommendations for this possible series! thank you for your videos
Someday in the future (it's best not to jump right to the deep end) I'd love to see a spread that consists of for example 2-3 different tarot decks or 2 tarot and 1-2 oracle decks. I don't know if these kinds of spreads have been actually designed before, but it could also be just some example of how to do your own spread and giving each deck a spesific meaning in it. My inspiration to this is Peggy's monthly pick-a-card readings, where you usually use many decks, and I'd love to see my decks communicating with each other in larger spreads, but with a bit more spesific meanings than overall message of the cards. As I wrote this, my brains immediately started to come up with some possible layouts, but they are still a bit vague especially because it's 3 am. here 😅 But if you have some multi-deck spreads to show us or you can help us to make our own spreads, that would be awesome! And if one of these decks could be seen in this series, I would be delighted 😊 They're among my favorites: The Good Karma tarot, Dark Mansion tarot and Forest of Enchantment tarot. All the best to you Lisa!
This is a great way to put a reading together. I love working with my guidebooks but I build off those messages with my intuition. I would love to see this done with the Deviant Moon Tarot or one of your more witchier decks!
This was an excellent demonstration. Ive been dabbling in tarot off an on for a couple of years and sincerely appreciate the clear way you explained and deconstructed a three card reading. I hope you get into more complex readings in future videos. Thank you.
Even being a newbie and not knowing out the gate what RWS meanings are automatically this was very helpful and shows that what I do as I am learning the system is organic and good for me :)
I love seeing you sharing your daily practice :) I wonder if you can share how do you manage that. Do you do it before you sleep (I do that) or just before you go to work or start your day? I also only do a single card daily draw .. I never do a specific point in life / day but a more "bigger picture" message which is interesting to me ... and I might try to mix and add something of that to my daily practice and see how that works. I rarely open the guidebook and tend to lean on my intuition but I love how you incorporate it with your work. I do see how it is helping you receiving the messages ..
You are so WONDERFUL! I was excited to read the title of the video, as I need to learn more about the cards in context. As a teacher, I deeply appreciate your teaching style, your examples, and the contextualization. I'm so glad that I found your channel. You're a rock star! ❤️🌟
Hi Liza, this was really helpful! Can you do one with a deck that is more intuitive, like the Mary-El, where you cannot rely on your typical rider Waite meanings? Thank you!
You inspired me with some great ideas for daily draws now. I used to find it very boring. I realize the KEY is the question you ask. Have you ever written a list of general questions you use to get us going . I guess that is where I have come to depend on spreads to guide what is being asked of the cards. BTW I love your nail polish.
Excellent! Clear, concise explanation. Love that you reference the guidebook. It can be so helpful, and not just when learning the deck. There are times when you need to be reminded of things forgotten, or that didn't resonate at the time. Thank you for sharing. Very helpful. I think This Might Hurt Tarot would be a good candidate, as it is also very close to the RWS. (And maybe Luna Sol, too).
This was validating. It’s exactly how I read for myself and after one year of study and pulling cards daily, I sometimes wonder if I shouldn’t be a bit further along than this. Thanks for the video. Affirmation: I am learning more and more everyday. PS ain’t no shame in usin’ the guidebook! That’s what it’s there for!
As I watching, I was able to follow along and pull two additional cards to accompany my daily pull. I had originally pulled the Death card, which was pretty vague, until I followed your lead and helped to really contextualize it with two more cards (Ace of Wands and Eight of Pentacles). This was a great video, and I could see the positive results of this kind of daily pull immediately! Thanks for also encouraging to use the guidebook - I found it to be really helpful!
Wonderful video! If its ok, I would like to request the Dreams of Gaia Tarot. I love the artwork so much (I have both the large edition and the pocket size), but I never use it because the structure differs so much from the RWS. I'm just not sure how to incorporate it into my practice in a meaningful way yet, so I'd love to see some example readings with it.
Thank you Lisa, this was just what I needed for the stage I’m at in my tarot journey. I’ve covered the card meanings and doing daily draws so this is a good next step. It makes much more sense 🙂🙏
This was so helpful to see your thinking process as you do the readings. Paired with the tarot training wheels I feel so much more confident as I learn to read tarot. Thank you for sharing!
This is really helpful and fun. I'd love to see you use the Spiritsong tarot or any other of Paulina Cassidy's decks if you own any of them. Thanks Lisa.
Thank you for teaching us Tarot….I really appreciate as it. I have exactly this problem, putting all the cards together and coming up with a reading. I always thought using the book was “cheating” 😇 I can definitely see how using your guidebook and the deck together would add depth to the reading. Do you use or refer to the guidebook in client readings? If it’s someone you don’t know? I do have this deck, but being a beginner not much else. I have the Simplicity Tarot and Whispering Spirits Tarot as well as the RWS deck. 💜☀️💜
No, I don't use my books with clients -- but that's a total personal preference thing. :) My method with clients is a *bit* different in that I lean more heavily into intuitive (and I'll be working on a full course for intuitive reading later this year if all goes according to plan)
Love these types of videos, especially as a Tarot newbie! I also appreciate that you used the keywords established in your Tarot with Training wheels videos. It helped me follow along! I would love to see one of your conversational readings with The Gentle Tarot. I have my eyes on that deck but have hesitations with some of the cards being different than RWS. Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge!
I would like the everyday witch tarot this is a great series thank you was looking to build on my basic knowledge and use the cards as a embodiment for my day this can be fun thank you so much
Yes!!!!! This is perfect 🥰 as a newbie this is exactly what I need . There is so much I don't understand!! Lol . But this is a start, please give us more like this its so helpful. I have done the training wheels course btw. Many thanks for that as well xxx
Such a great, fun and informative video! Looking forward to more from this series. Something you've mentioned in previous videos is doing free form readings (or readings that don't have a set number of draws I guess?), I would love to see a breakdown of that in future. Also, could you work with one of your more challenging decks in the same sphere as the Mary-El Tarot since I am curious how decks that expand and go beyond the "wrote understanding" (as you put it so perfectly!) interact with this more conversational approach? Also, absolutely love your nails in this video, the shiny purple is so pretty! Thanks!
Gorgeous video, I love your teaching style so much, Lisa! I’m not new to tarot but you always inspire me to try something new and get ideas going 🤍 This conversational type of reading opens the opportunity for asking more random questions, if that makes sense. I tend not to use tarot when I don’t have some clear question or one thing that disturbs me in some kind of way. And I don’t do predictive readings so daily draws always seemed off. But now I can see some ways for me to make it my own so thank you so much! And I would LOVE to see a video with legend, the Arthurian tarot. I love this deck to pieces and the guidebook gives so much since every card is linked to some story. You said you want to give it a try this year so this new series can be a great chance to finally do it! :)
Ooooh a legit challenge!! I definitely want to spend some solid quality time with Legend before I use it in this series but this gives me something to aim for, thank you!! :) And I'm so glad this was helpful to you!!
I'm not sure how to word this.... But you have a great way of explaining/teaching without talking down to / making ppl feel stupid or condoning. Much love 😁💖

I couldn’t have said it better😜 So glad I found this channel
Did my first reading of a day and it actually helped me to be more positive and helpful to others instead of being focused all day on things I like.
Totally agree Lisa with the incorporating the guidebook even when not a beginner. Sometimes I feel pulled to read the guidebook for a particular card and a message is on the description for me. OOOOh yesssss Thanks for watching - I will definitely add Wild Unknown to my list!!!
agree with deck recommendation and the comment in general lol
I’d love to see how you would piece together a conversational spread using oracle cards along with tarot
That would definitely be fun and interesting to see! 💖

This is so helpful Lisa. Definitely want to try this to keep my daily draws more organic ❤️
Yes, liked. Yes, value in it. Just YES! Good resource for review and connection with fellow readers.
This is the type of video I've been needing!!!! Thank you Lisa 😊
I forgot! I'd love to see you work through your Energy/Obstacle/Advice spread. It has become an absolute favorite for me to use! 💖
This is absolutely brilliant and so refreshing. Thank you so much for sharing.
I wish I could shuffle like you omg! xD
Love your channel, thanks so much~ 😍
I adored this!
The Gentle Tarot, please!
You got it! :D
Wonderful lesson to watch the process. Thank you 😊
This was superb I learned so much just from this first video Thank you 💗
Excellent 🎉🎉🎉😊love it 😊
This was such a great video! So helpful! Thank you for sharing🌞
Hi Lisa. Tried this today. Thank you so much for this. Very helpful. Love your teaching style.
This video was really helpful Lisa, thank you! 💜
This was so helpful. Thank you 💖 you have an amazing way of teaching.
Ty Lisa! I got it and found it easy to follow along with what you were saying & how you got there.
This is so useful and I’m glad I found your channel x
This is a great way to put a reading together. I love working with my guidebooks but I build off those messages with my intuition. I would love to see this done with the Deviant Moon Tarot or one of your more witchier decks!
Thank you, so helpful.
This is so helpful 👏🏻
This was an excellent demonstration. Ive been dabbling in tarot off an on for a couple of years and sincerely appreciate the clear way you explained and deconstructed a three card reading. I hope you get into more complex readings in future videos. Thank you.
Even being a newbie and not knowing out the gate what RWS meanings are automatically this was very helpful and shows that what I do as I am learning the system is organic and good for me :)
I love seeing you sharing your daily practice :)
I wonder if you can share how do you manage that.
I really enjoyed this! Thank you 😊
This was great! Thank you!
You are so WONDERFUL! I was excited to read the title of the video, as I need to learn more about the cards in context. As a teacher, I deeply appreciate your teaching style, your examples, and the contextualization. I'm so glad that I found your channel. You're a rock star! ❤️🌟
❤️ this! Wouldn’t mind seeing this with the Deviant Moon Tarot ☺️
ok!
I liked this a lot, really helpful as I'm trying to find more practical ways of using my decks!
Omg i loooooveee this new series 💕💕✨✨, i dont know if you have the Moonchild or starchild but i would love to see you using them. 🤍
I have them both! I'll add them to the request list! :D
@@Lisa_Papez thanks ✨🦄
Hi Liza, this was really helpful! Can you do one with a deck that is more intuitive, like the Mary-El, where you cannot rely on your typical rider Waite meanings? Thank you!
You inspired me with some great ideas for daily draws now. I used to find it very boring. I realize the KEY is the question you ask. Have you ever written a list of general questions you use to get us going . I guess that is where I have come to depend on spreads to guide what is being asked of the cards. BTW I love your nail polish.
Thank you!!!! Good question about questions! Let me think on that!
Really helpful! 💗
Thank you for this. I found it very helpful.
This was great, thank you so much!
This was great Lisa, thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. I loved it and cant wait to see more xx
Thanks Lisa.
okie dokie!!
Really appreciate this reading video. Thanks Lisa
Totally love this video. It is a great teaching moment. Thank you and please do more videos like this one!
YAY! And yes... planning for one monthly!
@@Lisa_Papez So Glad...thank you!
Great video Lisa, thank you so much🌻🌷🌼! It gives me a lot of new insights!
I would like the everyday witch tarot this is a great series thank you was looking to build on my basic knowledge and use the cards as a embodiment for my day this can be fun thank you so much
Hey Lisa, can jou do a celtic cross with me episode ? Love you ! Joshke
Already did... Before this series! Here you go: th-cam.com/video/xGdsyRlkxhI/w-d-xo.html
Considering it was my birthday recently, I would love to see you do a birthday spread.
Happy Birthday!
@@Lisa_Papez thank you!
Oh I'm going to love this series so much. This was fantastic. Thank you.
Yes!!!!! This is perfect 🥰 as a newbie this is exactly what I need . There is so much I don't understand!! Lol . But this is a start, please give us more like this its so helpful. I have done the training wheels course btw. Many thanks for that as well xxx
I loved this Lisa, it is very informative. Thank you for sharing your process. 🙌
This is such a wonderful idea for a series, thank you so much for sharing this.
Thanks!
Great idea, thank you!! I'll add that!
Gorgeous video, I love your teaching style so much, Lisa! I’m not new to tarot but you always inspire me to try something new and get ideas going 🤍
This conversational type of reading opens the opportunity for asking more random questions, if that makes sense.
Hi, do you have Light Seer? I’d love you to use it.
