- How to install 35's on a rzr. What has to be done to clear 35 inch tall tires on a Turbo or XP 1000 RZR. This video walks you through the needed upgrades to run 35's on a RZR without breaking every other ride. We tell you what it takes to clear the 35's and then what kind of things need to be upgraded for strength and durability. I will put links to everything I can think of down here in the description.

Your machine is badass !!!!!! I have an '18 XPT 2 seater...... You have convinced me that I should have gotten a four-seater ....... I agree on tenders...... I bought the RZRAID tenders and what a differance it made !!!!!! :-)
4 seaters are more practical for me. More room for stuff and people. Longer wheelbase so it feels better on steep climbs.

@@DomDavidson The gear reduction is one of the best things I've done to mine. I might not have gone so lo if I wasn't running 35's but it makes everything better for me

@@GrimRZR you hit pretty much every detail and upgrade I can think of and also have on my buggy. I think a clutch kit or new clutches could be added to the list for better acceleration on big ledges.
I have the 12% gear reduction in my 2016 transmission to pair with my 2018 168 hp motor. It does pretty good but I have some performance left to be desired for. Especially in technical stuff.
My buddy Jason Hawk has the same transmission as I do in his Z1 rzr bouncer but he has STM Clutches. He said that is a good combination for him. I'll probably add clutches or a clutch kit in my buggy to pair with the 35's.
35's are also really bad on wheel bearings. I would like to find a better wheel bearing than stock OEM. Thoughts on a better brand?
Something I have found to help with wheel bearings wear is using a single thicker axle washer than the traditional dual oem washers.
@@SXSVideos I run very little offset wheels so only had to change 1 wheel bearing so far. I do think some clutch changes will be a good investment just haven't wanted to get into it yet. Thanks for the info. Everything we can add will help someone

I'm curious about the offset. How many ride do you have on your car with 35's?
I'm running 4-3. I didn't realize that a 5-2 would make that much of a difference.
@@SXSVideos I'm not sure about mileage or anything but at least all this year in 35's. Only got 1200 miles on the RZR but all the other bearings are original. Mine wheels are between 5-2 and 6-1. Got a weird metric offset on the system 3 wheels

@@ericstyer2890 I would say most things are doable in a 2 seater it's just not as easy on the steep stuff. And it's always okay to pull a winch out instead of wrecking
I love your videos, some great wheeling and I love your editing and delivery. This was mind boggling to me as a krx owner. I went with 35” zillas on all stock machine and have had no issues in over 200 miles of hard wheeling at windrock. Maybe one day we’ll run into each other down there. Great video I'm running 32's and want some 35's. Do you disconnect your swaybar when your hitting those trails

I like to ride with both disconnected but if you disconnect them, make sure you get limit straps
2020 trails and rocks edition. Went to a true 32" (XTR-370, 32 1/4 inch). I broke EVERYTHING in the drivetrain with the N/A xp1000 engine. now running a fully built turbo(not s) front diff with HD extreme offroad components, rhino 2.0 shafts all around, super atv CV driveshaft, and every transmission strength upgrade I could find along with a gear reduction(yes I reduced even from the stock trails and rocks edition low gears). She's better, but I still break the front diff every time I hit it hard. Can't change to the Turbo S/RS1 diff due to a lower gear ratio in the diff itself
I didn't have any luck with turbo diffs either. It does suck not being able to ride without breaking. Hopefully this video will help a few people
@@GrimRZR also went with Tender aid springs, as you did. Love that upgrade, but for me it was more of the comfort in ride quality

I have the 53-12-12 reduction on my xp4, did you get any gear noise in low? I get a slight chattering sound sometimes, only in low. The reduction made this thing a beast.
I haven't noticed anything. I'm pretty sure I have the same reduction
they do make more noise when you gear them down and it depends on how many miles are on the machine.
Looking to go with 30" zillas on a 2020 1000xp 4 seater. Any modifications needed in your opinion? If so what would it be? Thanks
You could put 30's on without doing anything.
If I were to go with portals do you think I would need driveline upgrades? Or just get the steering and suspension components
I would do suspension and steering first but I haven't run portals yet so it's not hard science. Lol
I have 1.5inch super atv forward a arms and still rub in the front end of my rzr with tender springs, maybe I need to lift my tender springs?

My buddy is running a pro with 35's but he has widened it to a 72. I really don't know much about them yet.

No. Some are needed for clearance. The rest are just things I've personally done after breaking parts
Has the power steering effort been diminished in any way with the 1.5” forward swept a-arms?
Also, where did you source the bracket s that mount the RS1 diff in the turbo XP? They weren’t listed in your parts list.
I really didn't notice any difference in the power steering. I forgot to put the bracket that mounts in the RS1 diff. It was the Joe Coughman bracket. You can find it at all things UTV
@@GrimRZR I have +2” super atv arms and that’s the first thing I noticed, significantly harder steering effort. That and the larger turning radius, slight improvement in ride quality though with the extended wheelbase

I believe HCR a-arms r really reliable and heavy duty that’s what most guys are running in Moab on their RzRs with 39s

2018 turbo running stock do I need anything done to run 32
I ran 32's on my stock turbo for a long time. Still had to upgrade lower a arms and radius rods from bending them.
I'll stick to my 32's I like my speed, also story to ur shirt? Lol
32's are definitely easier. Forgot I was wearing that shirt but my wife got it for me
You can run 32”s for the price of the tires on a stock turbo. Do you still feel it’s worth the extra $10-15k to run 35’s?
I love 35's. I don't know that it's that much difference in price since it would have been things that I changed anyways
Have a 21 XP 1000. Has many add-ons like roof, windshield, doors, but still on stock tires and rims. All of the suspension and driveshaft components are stock as well. Was thinking about switching to 30s or 32s on bead lock rims. I have been told that if i run 30s, i do not need to upgrade the clutch, but if i run 32s, I do. What is your opinion on 30 vs 32s and even if i go 30s, what would you recommend for suspension upgrades, if any, etc?
The truth is it depends. There are people that ride 35's on stock parts but drive gentle. Then there are people that go to 27's and break everything.

@@mackdaddy6652 I like a gear reduction better than clutch work for how I ride. Hard to make a recommendation. It all depends what and how you ride. Usually 32 is a good size to maintain a reliable rig
@@GrimRZR I ride mostly smooth trails in Michigan and Wisconsin. I live in Indiana. Once a year, we spend a week on the H&M systems in WV, but usually stick to the greens and blues, so no extreme riding for the most part.
@@mackdaddy6652 I would say you aren't going to have any issues with 32's. A gear reduction will still help on some of the more technical trails and you will still be able to Cruze easy trails in high. I'm honestly thinking of making some videos to help with folks knowing how to keep from breaking parts without upgrading. Just driving techniques
Any suggestions on running 35's on a 2021 xp4 Highlifter?
I'm sure some of the same things would need to be done. I don't think you can put a RS1 diff in a highlifter though
Highlifter is already 50% gear reduction.
Road with a guy today with a XP 1000 30% gear reduction and forward arms was his only upgrades and running 35 super stickies..He was torturing his machine without any issues in some narly situations.
@@easye0212 I don't think I've ever rode with anyone that had a highlifter on 35's unless they were on portals.

I think so. Pretty similar. They come with the better front diff and I believe the stock axles are a little stronger
how much gear reduction?
Mine has 53 percent in low and 12 in high. Ranger low gear with ace main gear swap.
What kind of $ amount are we talking for what you've done so far (as far as what this video has covered)?
I will have to go back and add it up. I really try not to tally it up. Depression starts to set in

@@RZRMINERBDR easily $5k before you get tires. You could try starting with A arms then adding as parts break. That's also a lower to middle range on part selection. There are much more expensive options out there. For example if you went RCV axles that was be $3200 by itself

How much does the gear reduction take off your top end
Not sure I never get to the top end
The reduction I got in high is close to my tire size increase also so high is about the same as stock with stock tires
Curious as to % that ranger low gear is?
Mine is around 50. I haven't done the math but it's a ranger low gear with ace main gear set

You know you got the two front tires swapped right? Your tread pattern is going backwards on both front tires.
It's a 2 part experiment. Trying to get them to climb out of ruts better. They are like that on purpose

It was an experiment to see if I could get them to climb out of the ruts easier. Not sure if it helps or not .
