It must be said that this individual is NOT a Trade Union official, he is at the head of an organisation that is funded by POL and his salary is also paid by them. So he obviously hasn't had the slightest intention of defending sub postmasters. The said organisation has since tried to apologise for his behaviour before the hearing and to distance themselves from him. They are more worried about their PR image than anything else, just as the POL management have been, but at least it is now clear to everyone, including sub postmasters, that their sole function is to serve the interests of the POL management. They can no longer hide behind that ambiguity.
