Normies and Blindwave upload this episode almost at the same time...mm, talk about a soul bond.
I'm convinced that every single patron on the normies are also patrons on blind wave, RT TV, and imon_snow. They all vote on the same series at the same time for the reactor to watch.
I think they're showing that despite his selfish nature, Rick is actually kind of (barely) selfless. Especially considering he relieved Jerry of whatever torturing hell they experienced.
Maybe the knowledge of how a cat can talk is just that bad.

Yeah...but also no. A) Rick doing one good turn for Jerry doesn't make up for the endless shit he does to Jerry, Morty, the entire family, on a DAILY basis. It's great he helped Jerry when he really needed it, but he's still a selfish asshole 99% of the time. B) Supporting someone through trauma takes emotional energy. Rather than support Jerry, or use this shared trauma as a way to connect with his son-in-law, Rick just erases Jerry's memory so he (Rick) wouldn't have to deal with it. Rick has zero ability for dealing with complex emotions (either his own or others) so he took the easy way out.
It was interesting how quick Rick went from suicidal to normal at the end of this episode. That dude is carrying some baggage.

This was the most WTF episode of Rick and Morty. Rick and Jerry at the end of the episode was everyone after they watched this episode.

Making fun of game of thrones season 8
Clues: dragons, incest, sex, the dragon being voiced by liam cunningham (davos). i'm guessing the theme about the cat didn't have much to do with the actual cat itself but what it represented "don't ask questions and have fun" because season 8 made no logical sense.

That ending was one of the most bittersweet endings to me, despite Rick making it abundantly clear time and time again that he couldn’t care less about Jerry, even admitting that he was actually going to kill him in the S3 finale he still erased his memory so he wouldn’t have to live with... whatever they saw...
The cat was in the uncut version of that scene from Event Horizon.

Mabey the cat is from that movie with the fallen angel Azazal that gets left in a cats body after being traped by Densel Washington, I think it was called Fallen, and Ricks mind scan showed all his demoic deeds or maybe even glipses of a hell dimension like in Event Horison.
One thing I think you missed is the importance of Rick deciding to keep the memories and subjecting himself to knowing everything, even when it hurts him..

Warp Zone there was a an alien cat in the beginning of the episode who help morty escape prison. I wonder if that’s related somehow
@@KryptonKr I think they're different cats. The cat at the start of the episode was just some sort of alien related to their previous (off-camera) adventure. Probably the theme of that episode had something to do with the prison system. The theme of the current episode is clearly slut-shaming / sex trafficking. Which is why I think Jerry's last line is the answer. It ties into the theme. Jerry and Rick are both overreacting to the memory of what the cat did. So it was related to the theme, and it somehow modified the cat's brain. Total Jerryquote.

Honestly, I'm not that surprised the cat had some horrible past. Cats are the kind of creatures that with cuddle up to you one moment and wait until you are about to fall asleep before barfing on your bed. Any creature that think that behavior is 'ok' has a twisted soul.

I think the Dragon bonding might be a reference to the ongoing 1960’s book series Dragons of Pern. In Pern dragons and riders are so spiritually connected that when one engages in sex, the other will seek out sex as well.

I think the cat had something to do with Evil Morty, or the beginning of the episode where Morty saved the cat. Remember Rick said before he went to meet Jerry and the cat he said probably has something to do with the season finale. Either that the “evil” villain of this season has to do something with evil Morty or with the cat world.

I still laughed despite being really weirded out. I have to say though, this episode definitely felt more like I was watching an episode of Family Guy, rather than Rick and Morty.

The soulbonding stuff seems a funny satire on the bond that happens between riders and dragons in the Dragon Riders of Pern books, the first of which involves two characters having sex due to the fact that they are mentally bonded to the two dragons that are simultaneously mating.

The cat wanted to go to Florida because it's retirement central. After Jerry saw what was in the cat's mind he said "I let him in my house where I have pictures of my parents." Whatever the cat/alien does, the victims are elderly people, which is why he wants to go to Florida.

the first time i got around to watching season 4 was when i was in a six person crew during the first wave of covid and we were doing all the airways and codes so splitting up 12 hour shifts around the clock. needless to say at night i spent a lot of time in the call room and it could be due to wacky hours combined with stress and fatigue but i found this episode to be on the lower end of what the show has put out. I just have never ogtten into it
