This episode cat subplot is so meta. General conclusion: 'Don't overanalyze everything. Don't ask questions... just have fun!'

@@rosemontave1 Uwe Boll movies are terrible... Last Jedi was just mediocre. And characters weren't bad (or mabye just a least of the problems) - the plot overall was badly written, messy and didn't make much sense in bigger scale. But i was able to squeeze some fun from watching it despite all the problems. :)

Liam Cunningham (Davos from GoT) was the dragon and Matthew Broderick (adult Simba from Lion King) was the cat 😂 it’s definitely one of the weirdest episodes but I really liked it

I think the whole point of not showing you what the cat did is that nothing they show you can be stronger than what you can imagine it to be. The formless shadow of a monster is always scarier than a clear image of one.
The writers wants us to be curious why the cat can talk for the the irony

Depends on the GM. Games can range in tone from Lord of the Rings to Game of Thrones if the GM is dark enough.

Dragon was voiced by Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos from Game of thrones) and the cat was voiced by Matthew Broderick
They seriously need to pay more attention to the guest stars in the end credits.

i feel all those who complain about most episodes in this season, will be disappointed for Season 5. I feel they set up well what is the style of the show, and simply many don't like it as they are expecting something different

I think that it got the last few episodes of this season are much of an improvement. I don’t hate this episode as much as others but it’s definetly not my favorite.

Kiara Sp I might be alone in this, but I really like the more character growth centered episodes (not that I can’t enjoy some of the filler, a lot of it has the best comedy of the series, and the writing is always fantastic) but I love the episodes where the characters actually seem to grow or backtrack as people.

I think it’s pretty clear the cat wants to go to Florida so it can feed on the elderly in some way. Hence why jerry said “it was in my house, where I have pictures of my parents.”
That sounds right. He didn't specifically say "pictures of my family" but of his parents, who all we really know about them are that they are elderly. And that his dad likes to cuck dressed as Superman. But you do hear babies also crying in the scan. So maybe the alien cats invade human dimensions and feed upon the infants and the elderly. They would be weaker prey. And Jerry doesn't have any infant children to worry about, but he does have elderly parents.
But oddly they let the cat go. Morty didn't let Fart live when he found they were going to "cleanse" his planet. I wonder why Rick didn't shoot the cat?
Maybe I shouldn't ask so many questions and just have fun.
There may be a lot possibilities - one, cause it may not be cats fault (maybe he was experimented on, doing all horrific things like r-word, which lead for him to getting proper consciousness and voice) or he is not sane animal, who goes on full on bloodrage. We do know that he is not proud of what he did after all. Or maybe Rick was so disgusted that he didn't even think about killing the cat - he just wanted him to leave.
i think the joke with the cat is similar to the joke with the corn planet

The Best is The Acid Vat episode
This is basically a big satire of the influential book series THE DRAGONRIDERS OF PERN, where dragonriders form a soul bond with their dragons. In the first book this also means that when one dragon mates with the queen-female dragon, their two respective riders wind up overcome by similar emotions and sleep with each other.

I love how the B-plot was about not overanalyzing and deconstructing stuff yet was also the most mysterious and intriguing plotline of any Rick and Morty episode😂😂😂😂
I'm guessing that Rick & Jerry saw the dream sequences from Felidae or something like that. It would explain both why the cat can talk & why Rick almost killed himself.
As for the cat someone asked Dan Harmon during the online Comic Con panel if we'll be seeing it again to find out where it was from and he said that he forgot about the cat when writing season 5 (and he's already completed a good deal of 6) so don't expect it to be back anytime soon.
For the Slut Dragons I'm guessing someone on the crew stumbled onto the dragon dildo site for the super sexual dragon idea.
Morty's mistake was getting a red dragon. He's not nearly evil or chaotic enough to keep that thing amused.
the show makes fun of everything including those things sacred. Interestingly there are a lot of people who hold "dragons" sacred, ahem some will even get dragon tattoos. And so for those folks this must be the worst ever ... As for me after seeing it the first time I wanted the memory eraser device used on me. But that's also why it's a true Rick & Morty episode I think ... because in the future if you ever try to explain this episode to anyone they won't believe you that these things actually happened in this episode and you also can't believe you actually watched it and is trying to explain it to someone who can't possibly believe you. And that's why it's funny - it's great for a reaction video so that you can see somebody else go through it and end up like Morty wanting to take a shower and forget the slut dragons ever happened. haha ouch.
Not the western dragons - religions involved with them got lost centuries ago and I don't think like Welsh people would get offended about it (cause they are the only ones in western world using dragons on their flag). Dragons hasn't been sacred since forever, unless you are type of some strange furry or hippie.

I find it funny how people are still expecting it to go into a serialized plot with character development. I mean theirs been character development but you have to realize that Rick is basically God so I'll never expect a serialized plot to ever happen. Rick and Morty is about these weird and wacky adventures that Rick and his family go on for basically no reason at all, they just happen. If you expect an actual story that you can completely follow then this series will never be for you.

The cat's backstory is like the Lovecraftian approach to horror.
If the horror was clearly defined, it wouldn't be nearly as intriguing.
Instead, let the viewer's imagination come up with ideas, and still think it might be worse.
This episode is one of my favorites. Absurd Rick and Morty bs paired with a message telling everyone to shut up and enjoy the show :)
A lot of people call this episode bad, and tbh... i think it’s mostly just their way of expressing how uncomfortable this was to watch for them; which in turn speaks more on their level of repressed sexuality than anything else really. Speaking as someone from one of the most socially liberal countries on earth, most of my friends really liked this episode. And the reactors and comments i’ve seen react badly to it were quite disproportionally american, which is curious but definitely in line with the concept of more socially conservative communities reeaallly not liking this episode; funnily enough, largely without knowing exactly why themselves, which quickly turns into a sort of blame-game, making up other reasons for why it’s quote-unquote "trash"
Or maybe implying sexual perversions with your family disguised as "bonding" is just perverse.
