Custome pull start on B&S Opposed Twin engine

What do you do if your battery runs dead in the middle of the woods? With this mod installed, you pull out the pull rope, start your engine, and go home or keep on ropin! keep in mind the dangers ,i met a kid in the hospital physical re hab ,he cut his hand under a mower while dis loging a rock that stalled the thing. he was twelve at the time. the blade split hes hand all the way to his wrist bones. add that story to your safety lessons.

Nice I'mma do this with an old transaxle pulley, the starter is always sucking the battery dead.

Would not be a bad idea, but typically leaning over the engine while it's running would be il-advised normally hahahhah

thanks! now that im older though, i would make some tube steel spacers to hold the pulley off the fly wheel, hard part would be balancing that well enough not to vibrate your socks off

that extra weight on flywheel play a factor in how the motor operates ?

milldabeast519 no, as long as it's relatively balanced it has no affect what so ever. Only issue I could find was stuff getting caught while going through brush or what ever.
