    That's a nice find. I have a Puma 92 in .45 Colt. Found it at a gun show for about $400 years ago. It was a gun someone had bought, then returned unfired because they thought the ammo was too expensive. It was about an hour after the show opened. I bought it immediately. The vendor said a bunch of people looked at it, and said they wanted to look around more first. When I was filling out the paperwork, 4 people came by asking where it was, because they came back to buy it.
    It's actually a rather rare finish on mine. 24 inch octagon barrel, brass receiver and hardware, black stained wood.

    Your pawn shop rocks! All the pawn shops around here try to sell used guns for $10 under new price. A good sale on new stuff beats their prices.

      Same with super pawn in Arizona total goons.
      I seen a pt111 g2c 9mm asking $280 (USED)
      So i show em mine exactly like the display, but much newer with a WML, 4 mags, tritium sights and leather holster and asked him how much you offer me and the goon behind the counter was like trying to tell me it had wear and the components had wear, but little did he know i have more years with firearms than the years he has been alive 😂 but he tried to offer me qoute "his best offer" of $80 😂 i told him GTFOH the streamlight WML is worth more than his display gun 😂

      Pawn 1 is terrible. Sometimes if you bug em enough they'll budge, but my experience is its only after the guns sat in their rack or case for awhile. Mom and pop pawn shops are the way to go.

    I have a stainless LSI Puma model 92 with a 16" barrel chambered in .454 Casull. A friend of mine gave it to me back in the mid-2000s and I love it (I still owe that man a bottle of Scotch). I haven't shot it in years though, and the fiber optic front sight needs some JB Weld and put back on. But it is an absolute hoot to shoot!

    I just started to cry a little when you told me the price. Another great deal from that Pawn ... man you get some great buys there! And I really like the way they used to mill the receivers - much closer to the Win 92's - the newer version has a more gradual milling - which is not bad or ugly, just not as close to the originals... thanks for another great vid!!

    • @mixup98
      @mixup98  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I have a newer Rossi 92 .357 and I will compare its milled receiver to the older .44 Puma shown in this video. Should be interesting. Now if I could only find a used but nice Winchester 92 at the pawn shop.

    • @theoriginalOSOK
      @theoriginalOSOK ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@mixup98 If you can find an actual Win 92 that would be great! Of course, you can add a min of $1000 to the price tag - and that would be for one in good condition with plenty of wear and probably chambered for 32 WCF or 218 Bee.

    I picked up the Stainless Rossi 92 in .454 Casull several years ago and it is a great rifle. I have taken elk & mule deer back home in Wyoming with it and lost count of the hogs she has taken along with Whitetail down here in Texas. I shoot 45 Colt in it… albeit a bit finicky on feeding. If I reload the Hornady FTX and do not trim the case, they shoot great. I took a spike bull elk at 87 yards with the 300 grain Hornady XTP and he fell so fast I missed him hitting the ground in the heavy timber. I did install the NOE scope mount with the LER Vortex scope because my eyes don’t like the buckhorn rear sight and shorter sight radius…

    I had a .357 mag. Puma and it was my truck gun. I carried it for years, I called it the "Pet". I liked it so much I bought a .44 mag. in the same rifle. I did not like it nearly as much. Since the barrel was the same size on the outside it became hot to fast and the group spread rapidly. The .357 Puma however was a wonderful rifle and harvested a lot of game for me.

    *Hows the loading gate....does it flex easy/..is it "finger pinchy," or "cartridge scratchy", it doesn't seem to be?*
    *10:16** We have a "rock" where we shoot too, it's called "Elephant Rock" (name=size) it's walked off at 760 yards respectfully; we set gallon jugs on top of it, for iron sight bragging rights.*
    *That was a hit}**10:55** in slow motion you can see it hit the top left of your rock. - **11:10** high left*

    I have 2 Puma 92's, both 20" stainless steel models. One in 454 Casull/45 Colt that I bought in the late 90's and a 38/357 bought in 2010. They are both smooth, fit and finish is excellent and they are very accurate. The 38/357 gets the most workout for obvious reasons but they are a ball to shoot. So far it has digested over 5000 rounds of anything put thru it from factory and soft handloads to my 180gr H110 hunting loads leaving the barrel at almost 1500fps. The 454 speaks for itself and has had over 1200 thru it without a hitch. The 357 is the King IMHO, very accurate and loaded with 125gr hand cast and powder coated pills with a 3c primer, I'm still working off cases of CCI SPP bought at $30/1k and a couple penny's of a fast powder like Red Dot or 700x and it's less than a nickel every time I or my grand kids pull the trigger. Those rifles are awesome IMHO and I would recommend them to anyone.

    You scored again! I must be shopping at the wrong pawn shops. I shoot a Marlin 1894 in .44 Magnum now and then. Its recoil is heavy - almost unpleasant - with 240 grain magnum loads, but .44 Specials are a whole different story. I like to load Hornady's 200 grain FTX slugs for both magnums and Specials. Recoil is not so heavy, but they hit plenty hard. Nice find with that Puma. It certainly "mistified" that 2-liter. Cheers.

I've killed many deer and always devastating . for dangerous game I would reload 280 gr gas check 20 bhf wide flat points 1500 fps and 1399 ft/lb energy. of course working up my loads checking for pressure signs. I believe this 280gr load is capable at a reasonable range taking about anything in north America. that's only my opinion . normal target shooting 255 gr hard cast 240 - 255gr 1300 fps. Yet another awesome video from you guys in "you know where", that Rossi has been well looked after, you got a deal on it Mixup.
    I envy the US in as much as you can buy a firearm from pawn shops and the like, other than a RFD as we call them over the pond here. I wish we had the same relaxed jurisdiction on guns over here as you guys.
    Still, at least we can have suppressors without having to pay a tax stamp of, $200 for every one, in fact the firearms dept encourage us to have one for every firearm we possess with no charge other than the initial purchase price. 😁
    Keep these videos coming guys, i thoroughly enjoy watching your relaxed style.

      @mixup98  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Even though we have a lot of freedom regarding firearms we also have some really stupid gun laws, especially regarding suppressors. I wear earplugs and earmuffs every time I shoot but I still have some hearing loss, much like a lot of American shooters. Some of our politicians shouldn't be in politics. Stay safe, stay warm and thank you for always watching our videos.

    I have one of these... great little rifles.... Mine's not the saddle ring version. Yes the buckhorn sights is not optimal... I altered mine. Here in NZ we can still buy new ones. Yes they are usually a bit tight when new, although a bit of 'smithing can fix that easily. They are well made with good materials and are very durable. With the right powder you can push 1800fps with 240gr bullets, and that is serious medicine. Such 'full house' loads do kick a bit, but they are not really for plinking. Like yours, mine feeds anything..... 🙂

    Hi mixup.98. from Pennsylvania buddy Jeff. As always awsome. I really like the 44 mag. I hunt with a Henry brass big boy. It's awesome. That 92 looks very nice. You need to take er out and do some freezer filling . I'll bet it will get er done. I always enjoy watching you and your son together. Brings back a lot of good memories. Good Dad's are rare and your one of them. We were both raised right. Good bless my friend.😊

      I just got done reloading 400 44 mags. I have been using Montana bullet works 240 grn hard cast heat treated bullets. Gas checked. In front of max imr 4227. Charge Winchester primer. Amazing accurate and my deer at 75 yards. The bullet went stem to stern and came out almost at her tail. . It makes 44 mag affordable . And works very good from my Ruger super Blackhawk hunter 44 revolver.😊

    Nice little rifles! Had one of the Rossi .44's once...sold it- like a dummy. But I later picked up the .357 carbine with large loop and saddle ring. Won't do that again!

    The ruger super Blackhawk and the Rossi puma was what I carried riding and camping in the mountains in the late 80s . I really liked that little 44 lever gun !

    I have that rifle with the octagonal barrel. A lot of people poo pooed the rifle. They said it was rough and the action was terrible. I was pleasantly surprised when I received the rifle. This platform in .44 is very potent and capable for most anything in North America. That .44 really wakes up with the longer barrel and the sight radius makes it a tack driver. Personally I like the heaviest lead bullet I can shoot in .44. A lot of people like high velocity and I am the opposite. I like a big heavy chunk of lead moving down range at a reasonable rate of speed. A Ruger RedHawk would be a nice companion for this rifle, or a colt anaconda.
