I have a pre safety Marlin 357 I bought new in about 1980 and its maybe my favorite rifle, I have owned and sold several Rossi's dating back to the Puma emblem on the receiver, In addition I have had Marlins and Rossis in 45 and 44 calibers, but none in my safe right now other then the 357 Marlin and a 44 Marlin, in addition I have 25-20 Marlin in the 1894 models, if I have a chance at a Rossi or a Henry I certainly would grab it especially in 357 to giive my 52 year old son, its a great utility rifle/carbine in that caliber, I expect in the very near future I will end up passing all my guns on to my son as lets face it I am old and time on this earth is limited and where I hope to end up I won't be needing them as infinity in heaven will be all peaceful and no need to gather fiid

I went ahead and gave my Rossi Puma 357 mag and my Marlin JM 336 30-30 to my son. My step mother was very tight fisted with my Dad's things he said would be mine when he passed away not long ago. That got me thinking if I want to be sure my son gets my guns I'd better give them now. John 3:16

I have owned lever actions for a very long time, I'm 74 years old. Winchesters, Marlins, and Henrys grace my gun safes. I wanted a rifle in .454 Casull, so I decided I needed a Rossi R92. This weekend I bought one. The fit and finish are excellent, the bolt is smooth with no tool marks, and the wood is of a mahogany color with great grain. I liked it so much I bought a Rossi R92 stainless in .357 with a 16' barrel. Both rifles had loose screws that I could move by hand. When I tightened the screws retaining the stock and forend the fit and finish became flawless. I will hit my range on the farm as soon as it stops tornadoes, hail, and rain in southwestern Ohio. I can always load ammunition.

I'm 72 and live in southeast Ohio. I know how you feel! Bought a Ruger MK 4 Hunter a week ago and haven't got to shoot it. I have a few levers. But when I go on a wood walk, I take my Rossi 357!

Folks, keep in mind, the vid is in mirror image mode - so the loading gate seems to be on the left side (as you hold the carbine to shoot) when in actuality, it's on the right side.

"theoriginalOSOK," That's the very first thing I noticed, in less than two seconds. And then the $htty camera angle, from the ground looking up. So, "mirror image mode" is used for filming because . . . ?

@@scvandy3129 I am sure that he didn't select mirror mode - it's just what happened. I have a channel too and I am no professional videographer lol - so I wouldn't read anything into this.

I OWN 4 Rossi's, 3 92's and one 95. 2 .357, a 454 Casull and a 45/70. I have two new Winchester 92's .44 Mag and 45 Colt along with several other lever action rifles. Liked your video and enjoyed watching. Keep up the good work. The Rossi's run very well for me.

I chronographed PMC .357 at 2000 FPS with magnetospeed with 158 gr bullet (citadel 16" barrel). That's like an AK47 muzzle energy. 🎉

Look up a site called ballistics by the inch. The tables and graph for 357 are impressive, a couple of loads actually do enter the bottom of the 30 30 range. 16" is also the sweet spot in barrel length.

I have several 357 lever guns from 16 inch to 24 inch. Rossi, Marlin, Browning. Fast handling, accurate and powerful. Used them in CAS , now general purpose and are FINE for a traveling rifle, home defense. The 92 and Marlin 94, have a much shorter throw than a 94 Winchester 30/30 action. I have Rossi 16 inchers in 38/357, 45 Colt and and a prof 20 inchers, the 357 is an older one with Puma on receiver, no external safety. Qualify as Best Buy.

I have had my R92 for over 10 yrs, paid around $550 and greatly enjoy it. I don't care too much for the wood, the Amazon basin is full of different woods, I am sure there is a nicer hardwood in Brazil with better grain/personality that could have been used even if it meant costing extra.
