- The Neomorph is an endoparasitoid extraterrestrial species encountered by the crew of the USCSS Covenant. While they share some characteristics with the Xenomorph XX121, most notably their process of gestating inside a living host organism and their elongated heads, they are otherwise very different.

Seems like even if they kept their helmets on, the black goo "motes" could still find a way to "infect" the humans through any genital or anal orifice (any ANY type of bodily orifice, ears mouth eyes nostrils etc.), and/or probably any open sores or cuts? Microscopic insects searching for blood to propagate and complete their life cycle. Seriously terrifying bit of plot there.

The planet was breathable, which eliminated the need for breathing apparatus. Granted, they still could’ve worn ballistic helmets or face masks.
there are more unknowns that they should have accounted for, like airborne pathogens (such as the spores)
@Himath to be fair we'd have even less defence against an alien virus.
As to the point of the helmets? These guys weren't scientists, they were frontiersmen, colonists...so they probably didn't anticipate the issues they faced.

They look amazing and I love how they moved, it's the first time in the series that we saw xenos and neomorphs moving freely in a natural habitat.
I loved it so much! My mind compared the immature neomorphs to monkeys in the way they move so quickly with a long tail, it was incredible to see so many scenes with them in their natural state instead of on a ship trying to kill crew members😂

There was one scene in Alien 3 that does feature the xenomorph eating a victim. Outside of that very enjoyable video!
I was hoping somebody else would comment on that! I noticed that at least twice in Alien 3 in fact. Also when the runner alien in that film carries the victims away into the airducts, and the piston scene towards the end? That was the one film which seems to be at odds with the statement in this video!
Also in Game Alien vS predator
AVPR also seems to feature a hungry Xenomorph, after the swimming pool scene. I thought there was a chance that the methodical mutilation could have something to do with the hive building process, but even if it does, it's still definitely eating that bully.
It makes sense. You would think they would eat the victims they kill and drag the lives one to be turned into a egg.
They do require some form of nutrition, as seen in alien, the xeno stayed close to somewhere with water while around the time of being in its cocoon state, which probably can help with its growth, stamina and straight. but they put the hive as there main priority, if they need hosts they will go without but if they can they'll feed when possible.
Well the lore with Neomorphs is that they have a very short lifespan and when they die they 'decompose' rather quickly into more of those fungal-looking egg-things with more spores in them, so when other organic life comes close, more Neomorphs can thusly be made and that's how they slowly spread wider and wider.

Well that’s something that comes up a lot however there is a reason behind it, see they were colonists heading to a planet which had similar readings to their original planet but when they found a scan of a planet that was almost exactly like earth (which includes the breathable atmosphere) why would they hesitate to check it out? And if the super computers they hand on the Covenant ship said that the air was breathable why would they bother with helmets or gas masks?
@@smiler6110 I don't know maybe just because air is breathable doesn't mean there are not viruses and bacterias very deadly too humans gosh before I came to Africa I have to take several vaccines for sickness those guys are going different planet who nows what kind of sickness they can get and they act like they are in the park for a walk
Ozan Yücel hey for all we know the computers told them there were no known, diseases in the air or diseases at all. Like with the engineer head in Prometheus the computer said “no contaminants found” when there was clearly something wrong with it so what it meant was “no known contaminants found”
@@smiler6110 but doesn't mean there isn't we born in earth it took generations and many vaccines for our immune system to live thorough viruses this is completely different eco system and its not possible to know what kind of effects it will hold in humans, such expiditions arranged by experts in any logical world so even crew member are not scientists they take many test and go thorough some training after all these people are colonist they expect to colonize a new planet and such expeditions are costly so they are definitely not your everyday guy yeah I know its just a movie and for plot sake they do this but also that make it a sloppy job and average movie

In Alien 3, the xeno was seen "eating" one of the inmates. He was clearly dead, yet the xeno was still chomping on him, sort of. From that scene, I gathered that they eat their kills... sometimes...
They probably only eat when hungry and don't get hungry quickly

I think in 3 (or maybe it was Ripley 8 in Resurrection) implies Xenomorphs eat humans by saying the Xenos aren’t far from where the people are hiding because they “want to be close to the meat”. And in AVPR, the Xenomorphs are very explicitly shown eating people lol.

I wanted to watch this too, and now I can't. Not that well put together at all I would argue.
I did love this movie. It shows as a good prequel to the Alien movies. Plus the flute scene made me and my brother laugh our asses off with the "that's what she said" content in the dialogue.
It wasn't until rewatching this video that I learned that the Neomorph ripped the jaw off the Covenant crew member with it's tail! I always thought it was from a stray bullet from one of the other Covenant crew members. I love watching movies over and over because there's always something you may have missed, just like with your awesome videos!
Because after you've seen it once you can focus on different aspects of each scene. I do the same thing.

Those eggs and everything is real. Xenomorphs are serpent race from Genesis 3.15 and Genesis 1. The real precisely translated Bib le, Strongs Concordance, also see Jonat%han Kle%ck You Are Exiles, will blow your mind.
I've always thought that the original Alien being bio-mechanical was the result of David being 'infected' by a face hugger. How that happens I couldn't say but the fact that David is also bio-mechanical it seems that the bio- part could allow a doorway for the infection to make an "Alien" replica of all of David, mechanical as well, the same way it does with animals.

It's called a host for a reason. Unless it was at a perfect moment for it to escape the body, otherwise the it would die along with the host. Kinda like a miscarage.

I'm a big Alien franchise fan, always enjoy Covenant (not a popular opinion) And the Neomorph, scary, terrifying creature. So cool you know the actress that got her head eaten off, that scene always got me. The Neomorph is creepy when it's standing upright, just watching.
Personally, I get the sense that in the finale, the colonists will somehow find a way to kill the fully organic neomorphs. David, upon seeing the looming xenocide of his children, will devise a protocol to let one of them use his body as a host, which is why the xenomorphs that Ripley tangled seem to be partially robotic. Upon seeing the birth of the queen who will be his legacy, David can finally rest and for the first time in his life empathize with Weyland's fear of death, wistfully dreaming of all that will follow.

I believe the spore pods form from the decomposing wildlife that was infected by the black goo. It said in the movie that the goo doesn’t affect plant life and it would explain the neomorphs more feral behavior if it came from a wild animal.

If a fully grown Neomorph and a Xenomorph fought, what one would win? Would the Xeno's acidic blood have an affect on the Neo if it came down to spillage of blood? I would have to guess yes, the acidic blood would cause damage to a Neo as it can with a Xeno as depicted in Alien Resurrection. Hm, would be cool to see a fight between the two go down.

I watched prometheus last night with some sticky buds, and realized that those guys had no chance in hell to begin with. Taking off your helmet regardless if the air was breathable was STUPID. Dude; just because the air is breathable doesn’t mean parasites and such aren’t present in it. You COULD drink water out of the Nile river, but would you? The planet could’ve had a mosquito like creature that attacks eyeballs only! 😂 And, right when the guy took his helmet off and yelled “Whoo!”, I thought what an idiot; then the rest of the crew followed, I was like “oh, yeah. Kill ‘em all.” They didn’t take anything seriously; Not the mutated cobra worm, not the fact that the guy was turning into a raisin… it was just too much. Did you guys seriously bring a ship with no missiles? Because thats all it would’ve taken, instead of a suicide collision. One chick died because she was too stupid to roll out of the way of a rolling ship. No one should be this intellectually loose when exploring a hostile planet.

Actually, the outstanding Alien 3 - with solid acting performances, cinematography, and cool practical visuals (a puppet) - which also is the first film in the series to introduce the alien taking on physical characteristics of its host, showed the xeno feeding on a body and taking the body into a corridor or other place to continue eating. Interestingly, the only real fault of Alien 3 is unceremoniously killing Hicks and Newt off screen thus hurting the franchise for many people, kind of like they did with Alien Covenant killing off Shaw and the Engineers after investing so much into them in Prometheus. Theoretically, if Alien 3 is considered cannon, then it is likely that the xenos do not kill certain humans in order to swell their numbers through the collection of more hosts. But, in Alien 3 there is definite feedin' time going on.
Still one of the best intros on TH-cam.

I have to say, the Xenomorph has been depicted eating human flesh. I believe it was in the movie Alien: Resurrection. I may be misremembering the exact movie. I know I remember one chomping on a human after it was killed.
What I personally found interesting was when David dropped the bio weapon and it made contact with the inhabitants and if you look closely you can see appendages and extra limb like protrusions violently burst from their bodies. I was wondering if their biology was being mutated at an increased and violent rate. Care to share some thought Niat?

The Xenomorph were seen eating humans in Alien V Predator Requiem, Hybrid/The Abomination also did so, I think
In AVP 2, that was the Predalien, not a regular Xenomorph. And the Hybrid was again not a regular Xenomorph

The neomorph came out of the spine because most funguses and spores collect in spinal fluid after ingestion.
I think the alien from Alien 3 was seen feeding at some stage, as they were trying to lure it through the tunnels.
This movie wasn't a very good addition to the story, but it was very entertaining. Absolutely love Neomorphs though. Awesome.
