    Good part about vent mounting is that in the summer when its extra hot, your A/C is actively cooling your phone.

      @@HobartsReviews *update* no bueno. Turns out this phone holder still can’t fit my iPhone 11 with a Sinjimoru silicone grip on the back. My phone measures in at thickness of approx. 15.5 mm, but the arms on the holder are only 14.9 mm. So something to keep in mind for any one else out there who may have a thicker phone.

      @@redone823 I ordered 3 of them. I just installed one of them yesterday. So far so good. It is def true that you get more vibration when the arm is extended. If you use it closer to the base, you won’t see any movement.

    "Military grade" is literally the cheapest something can be made and hopefully still get the job done.

    I’m a truck driver and I’ve used “heavy duty” phone mounts that they sell at truck stops. Those can be expensive. I’ve had a problem with those mounts and that is that those have cheap plastic gears and they always chip and no longer grip your phone when you want to use it.
    I’ve opened up the cradle and rotated the gears so they have contact on the part of the gear that’s not chipped but it eventually breaks.
    One thing that got my attention about the Humixx is that the movement felt great when it gripped and released. Came to find out that it has stainless steel gears and they claim it’s military grade. That made me a fan of it. No more problems with gears.
    I must point out that the new version of the Humixx phone mount doesn’t advertise that it’s military grade nor that it has metal gears anymore. I hope they didn’t go cheap in the upgrade. That would be a downgrade in my opinion.
    No more expensive trucker phone mounts that break right away.

    For the air vent mount , what happens to the back of the phone when your heating system is on or air-conditioning . The phone cannot withstand the heat coming from the vents .

    • @HobartsReviews
      @HobartsReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmm good point. I love in South Florida so it's always AC for me but when it gets cold the heat doesn't seem to bother my phone. You can always just close that vent.

    • @vhamer123
      @vhamer123 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@HobartsReviews yea this was what I was thinking of. The vent that I was planning to put the clip into were the ones above the radio and not using the air is not an option when it starts getting cold.

    If it's good quality plastic, I wouldn't worry about the threading, since there are plastics that can handle a craploads of punishment 😁 Some metals can't even reach their level of durability, so having a balljoint made out of metal doesn't really say anything unless it says what metal it's made of. Not saying the one mentioned here isn't good one, but just overall. Anyhow, this certainly seems like something for my GTI and Jeep. Seems like a good option and nice review to show how it actually is 👍

    • @HobartsReviews
      @HobartsReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your input friend! Yeah I've had several of these that over time the socket quadrants break off from fatigue. So being that this one has little skinny sections I just wanted to caution to be careful of those teeth so you don't break too many of them off and then you can't thread. It really is a nice phone mount. I'm actually using the air vent one right now LOL.

      @@HobartsReviews The plastic is a bit too hard then and is kinda brittle? That's a shame 😐 But even then, your review sure is helpful so people can take that also into consideration when deciding to make the purchase 👍

    Can the vent cellphone holder be used on vertical vents instead of horizontal?

    • @HobartsReviews
      @HobartsReviews  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jesus, YES! Its got a 360 degree swivel on it. So you can use the clamp on your vertical vent and just swivel it into your viewing position. 😉

    Someone really needs to help asian companies with their branding. "Vic-seed"?? Really?? I don't want a big VICSEED logo on my dashboard. On their website it says, "5,000,000+ Global Trusting Customers". I mean, you kind of know what they mean, but they really should hire native english speakers to review their messaging.
