    Ok, I've been doing FB Ads on and off for the past couple of months. It has been hugely frustrating for me because all of my ads took hours/days to get leads...and I was getting relevance scores in the 3's and 4's. I watched this video and decided to create a new Ad implementing what you suggest in the video. I got leads within 5 minutes of launch, and I just checked my relevance score...10. Wow! My cost per lead is now 90% less than what I was paying before. Looking forward to learning more good stuff, and making more sales. Thanks Miles!

      Ok, so I got quite a few leads on the very first day but now they're slowing down to a crawl. Is that normal?

    Hey Miles. Haven't been to your channel in a while, but wanted to thank you for all the videos, you're a straight hustler. I started watching them about 6 months ago and they gave me a ton of value that was much easier to absorb than most other content. I have a couple clients on retainer now and have been getting solid gigs charging $50-80/hour. I took months just to learn constantly and you helped a bunch with that so, much respect brotha, keep it up. I'm waiting for your channel to blow up any day now, it really needs to.

    Hi Miles. I have to tell you. I implemented the story telling technique, and I am seeing Relevance Scores of 9 now. I used to have 5, 6, and a few 8s. Yippee this works guys. I am an English teacher and story telling always works in the classroom. I never knew it would work for FB ads too. Thanks a bunch Miles. You rock!

    hi miles,so i own a shopify store and run fb ads to sell my products,so i did split test with an owl watch.ran and add that said ,love owls? get yours here today before there all gone sale ends in 3 days.i then ran same owl watch with a short story about owls.300 words i did a sort sales pitch more content then and asked them to comment about owls and the link to purchase on my website,i scored a 4 on my relevance score and got 9 comments 3 shares and 18 likes and no sales from the short ad.the other ad scored a 9 and got 157 comments 229 likes and 73 shares,23 add to carts and 17 purchase and made a whopping $357 that day.i ran both ads 5 days and $7 ad spend a day.i definitely learned something new.thx man,i now use story telling in all my ads and they convert.that is the most money i ever made in one day.now i do a constant $200/250 a day.

    Hi Miles.
    My response is a fairly long one, but I hope you can find the time to read through it, as I think it represents a a big portion of our small business owners/start-ups with the same “Catch 22” problem, who have been following your video series for a while now.
    First of all, congratulations on a brilliant video series which I have been following since end of last year. I think I watched about 95 videos so far, and are learning something new with each video.
    The problem you’ve created though, is that some videos are contradicting each other, not because any of them are untrue, but causes this “catch 22” problem for a lot of users.
    On the one hand, like you’ve mentioned and stressed in the majority of your videos, you must be willing to give and build trust, before you can even start trying to promote your own services or go the “affiliate marketing” route, Like I have this discovered and you have mentioned, this takes up almost all your time and effort (producing videos/blogs and other content of value), and this can takes months and even years.
    The flip-side, as you have highlighted in your video, “Your #1 Priority As An Internet Entrepreneur - Get This Wrong And You Will Fail!” This Is very true, which creates the problem. Most of us have bills to pay, houses and cars to pay off, which means we do not have the luxury to spend months/years to build up trust and client lists, as much as you want to spend all your time doing it, as that is a fulltime job on its own. Its’ not possible though, if you know the end of the month is coming with looming bills to pay hovering over your head.
    I am highly motivated and are used to putting my head down and grinding away 14-18 hours a day, but despite that, I am starting to get despondent, not due to a lack of trying or motivation, but finding it hard to find the balance.
    You can’t have the one (time to build up and share content and build up trust, in order to create leads, that turns in to clients) without the other (already having some kind existing automated income), freeing you up to do the first thing that will create the second in the first place, and vice versa. One further complication is, there are a lot of courses you recommend (like the recent “storytelling” for successful ads), I badly want to make use of as I know the value of a successful ad on Facebook and don’t have the time to learn the art of storytelling the long way, but are holding back because you know the little you are currently earning, needs to be reserved to pay bills ate the end of the month. I think you know what I am getting at.
    I know it’s a lot to respond to, and maybe there is no clear solution, but I know it’s a problem a lot of us are battling with.
    Maybe you can address this issue somewhere in the future in a video?
    Thank you anyway for the wealth of information you have been selflessly been sharing over the past year. This is pure gold, and detailed information, other “gurus” normally charge thousands of dollars for.
    Thank you and keep up the good work!
    Wessel Wessels

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Wessel Wessels thanks for the comment... Remember that one great 20 minute VSL or long copy sales letter can build the trust needed. It is difficult to do, tho.
      Also one video and one blog post can build the trust...
      Two emails after an opt in can build the trust...
      Just because I'm all in on giving free videos out like it is my job, that doesn't mean you have to!
      Is what I'm doing building trust? Sure. Is it the only way? Not at all!
      In my wife's business we run an ad to a squeeze page followed by a VSL... That is enough for some new traffic to turn into leads and customers.
      Then we follow up via email... That converts even more leads to customers over time!
      You just need to find the right funnel and content that works for your audience and offerings!!!

    Great stuff as usual Mr. Beckler...I really like the point about creating long-form sales copy above the image, and how that impacts your relevance score. I've only read Michael Hauge's books but I'll grab a copy of the course you've recommended. The one thing that's helped me more than anything is deconstructing, and writing out sales copy from Mike DIllard, Eben Pagen, and Gary Halbert.
    Also, I've bought FB ad courses from Jason Hornung, Mike and Andy, and Amy Porterfield...your material is every bit as good as the courses I've paid hundreds for! Have you given any thought to creating your own FB ads course?

    Hey Miles, quick one, if a newbie wants to start watching your videos about Facebook Ads, where should they start? You have a LOT of videos now, curious if there is a play list or do you have it organized on a website somewhere? Something easy to follow along and not have to search thru dozens of various Facebook vids

    • @MilesB

      I don't... It removes you from your place in the auction and re-enters you to the auction (meaning you can get worse performance after the change)... The only change I make is budget based. Other than that I start a new ad set.

    Here's the first draft of my Hero's Journey. I'm not sure if I'm on the right path or not so all critiques are welcome. It seems too long for a FB ad but I don't know how I could make it shorter.
    The raw natural beauty of the island was breathtaking. Lush green mountains soared above an amazingly blue Pacific Ocean. Fingers of jagged black lava rock reached down to the ocean encircling pure white sand beaches, and waterfalls cascaded from the middle of the jungle covered mountains.
    It was an exchange to Kauai, Hawaii with my wife for our 7th anniversary that proved to be the catalyst for me turning into "The Timeshare Expert."
    We had owned our timeshares for three years and had dutifully been using them in our home resort on Hilton Head Island. But now my wife wanted a little more of an adventure. I would have fine going back and golfing the amazing courses there for many years.
    I was selling timeshare at the time but was a newbie in the industry, and I was suspect that I’d able to exchange to Hawaii. At the time, it was the hardest exchange in the industry, and I feared not only NOT getting the exchange, but I’d end up losing out on my golf trip.
    But my wife was insistent, and I had done an incredible back packing trip there many years before and wasn’t opposed to going back, just skeptical that I could make it happen.
    There was a gentleman where I worked named Reuben. He was what I thought of as old probably being in his mid to late 60’s. His thinning hair was completely gray, and he was always impeccably dressed in a custom suit as compared to the rest of us.
    Reuben was called “The Governor” and was the top salesperson. While the rest of the salespeople had to scramble to find a 24 inch round table each time they had clients, “The Governor” had his own desk set up in the corner of the giant salesroom that was surrounded by palms and travel posters.
    One day, between tour waves, I approached him and asked if he wouldn’t mind answering a question for me. I’ve found that top salespeople are usually generous with their knowledge and Reuben was no different. But my question surprised him because he thought I was going to ask him to give me some sales tricks and techniques like many of the other salespeople.
    I explained that I wanted to exchange my two Hilton Head weeks to Hawaii but was afraid I’d be unsuccessful. He gave me counsel that not only made me a better salesperson but set me on the road to becoming “The Timeshare Expert.”
    Reuben told me I’d have to be willing to do what other timeshare exchangers were unwilling to do. He said that both RCI and Interval International were very good at filling members exchange requests when done properly, but most weren’t.
    He explained that the exchange system didn’t work the same as making a hotel reservation as was commonly believed and to be successful one had to either do many exchanges or pick the brains of the experts. Reuben said that because timeshare exchangers usually do only one exchange a year, the only real option was getting expert advice.
    Rueben went on to give me many tips, strategies, and secrets he had uncovered in his many years of being a professional in the business. I was secretly embarrassed at how uninformed I was about how the timeshare exchange system worked.
    I went home and excitedly applied Reuben’s advice and announced to all that I was going to spend two weeks in Hawaii for my 7th anniversary.
    What surprised me was the negativity I received from friends, family, and peers. Few of them believed I’d get an exchange to Hawaii, and none believed I’d get two weeks back-to-back.
    But I put my faith in “The Governor.” And suddenly, I started talking with prospects that already owned a timeshare and had successfully exchanged to Hawaii. They added to my knowledge, and many of these prospects bought more.
    A short time later, the confirmation for my first week in Hawaii came through, and not long after that, I got my second week. Rueben’s expert advice worked, and over the years I ended getting two back-to-back weeks in Hawaii seven times.
    Now I want to pass on some of that information to you. Over the 25+ years, I worked in the timeshare industry, all of my prospects, whether they purchased or not, got the tips I learned from Reuben and those that I’ve since uncovered.
    But relative to the whole, I could only educate a few of the millions of timeshare owners.
    If you feel like you're not getting the best exchanges with RCI or Interval International, or you feel like you're not achieving the best exchanges with your timeshare, you’re about to learn some simple, actionable steps you can take today to guarantee you better timeshare exchanges.
    Imagine, you, your friends and family all enjoying the resort vacation you really desire. You have taken charge of your timeshare exchange destiny and are no longer at the mercy of RCI and Interval International.
    You’ve spent a lot of money for your timeshare, isn’t it about time to start learning how to get the best exchanges?
    It’s easy! Just click the “Learn More” button below for your FREE timeshare exchange checklist and enjoy your next timeshare exchange to its fullest. Do it now because the best weeks and resorts are already going away.

      Way to go! So I think I would keep the "me turning into "The Timeshare Expert." " part out as it may put people on their defenses... What did you actually 'get' that others want?
      Let them come to the conclusion you are the expert on their own! Help them have the ah-ha moment : th-cam.com/video/D-h4P05aeiY/w-d-xo.html

    Hi Miles. First of all, I just want to thank you and let you know that your channel is amazing! I've learned more about online marketing from you than all other sources put together.
    I'm intrigued by this approach and I can see how it would work great when you are selling a product that leads to a transformation, for example, a fitness program or selling a marketing service.
    Just curious if you can give me any tips on how you'd approach selling clothing?The product is obviously not going to change someone's life or business, so the story seems less important. I'm guessing the ad copy is less important than a good product image in this case.

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would probably focus on videos for clothing, really... Chubbies shorts did really well with some viral videos. The brand story is still very important... But video is probably a better medium than the written word.

      Yes, I understand that Miles.I was refering to the time when an ad's CTR begins to fall and frequency starts to rise. This would mean the target audience are seeing the same ad over and over and are not clicking. Will it be a good idea to keep everything else same and try another ad with this audience? Probably a different image or headline?

    Miles, I've learned volumes about Facebook marketing / advertising from your videos. I've insisted that the people how craft my Facebook ads watch your videos. I do wish you would spend more time with other categories other than self-improvement / motivational products. There are categories that are impulse purchases "Restaurants" and then there are product categories that require more engagement, big ticket items & services . Again, no complaints here, I just work with local businesses and events that want to increase their market share with Facebook.
    On relevance score: It is not an opinion, it is a researched fact that relevance is key to customer response and market share growth. This is true of any media traditional or digital platforms. To perceive otherwise will result in "marketing malpractice".

    Great video! Thanks for the great content. Question- When you start to get leads on Facebook conversation campaigns, what is a normal rate to actually get on your email list? I just started running several ads yesterday and in ads manager, I am showing 35 leads but have only had 18 show up on my email list. Is this a good rate?

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Are you running a double opt in? if so check in your autoresponder and see if the other 13 simply did not confirm their address. If that is the case consider turning off double opt in.
      I run single opt in so my lead number in Facebook usually matches within few percent of my lead number from my autoresponder system. And my opt in page converts just under 50%

    The relevance score is perhaps the most irrelevant thing on Facebook Ads. What are you trying to achieve? A good ROI, a good CPC, a good cost per conversion. Just read Facebook's own description for relevance score and it is determined after such few ad impressions that there simply isn't enough data for relevance score to actually mean anything tangible other than to act as a very basic guide to newbies

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I 100% agree that the main KPIs to monitor are cost per lead and cost per new customer acquisition.... As I've covered in many videos.
      What is happening is that people are running ads and getting zero results because there is a mis-match between their ad copy the landing page copy and the audience... How do I know? Tens of thousands of micro-conversations in comments.
      Almost every time when I help them 'debug' their ad campaign it turns out they have a 3 or 4 relevance score.... Which is a glaring data point to the problem. Message market mis-match.
      So I hear you... But I think you are oversimplifying this or are forgetting that most Faebook advertisers are new and don't have it all figured out..

      Really do appreciate the reply and I do agree, by stating that I am in someway limiting myself- however I have seen both videos and that is the difference; they are videos, not image ads.
      My niche is the activewear industry; highly competitive and most if not all players rarely put long blurbs on their image ads with read more. However, if I was selling a course, software, etc... I understand the merit behind a long story.
      Either way, the content you provide is free, high quality, high value to a lot of people and even to myself, but in this instance I don't know how I could use that.
      Thanks for your time.

    • @MilesB
      @MilesB  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First off, you can put a video ad in Facebook just as easy as you can an image ad. So no need to limit yourself to images.
      Second, if you want to become a successful entrepreneur and advertiser, it takes a ton of work... Testing, researching, testing, researching...
      Remember, magazines have used images and stories to sell clothing for decades (a century?) before Facebook was invented.
      Go grab a cosmo magazine to see what the pro's do. Go look at big brands on Facebook and see what they are advertising...
      If you open your mind to the possibilities you may find them... But if you remain closed you won't see that there have been successful story based image ads run for clothing companies for probably 150 years.
