Rotating all of the fluids. Brake master gets engine oil. Power steering reservoir gets brake fluid. Radiator gets filled with power steering fluid. Crankcase gets filled with antifreeze. See how long it will run or how many laps it will run on the track.

Month of freedom is just something else, I’m Australian and all I can say is i could watch these boys all day just a bunch of legends living their best life’s. 🙌🏻
A lot of people don't realize diesel is low octane. They assume because of the high compression in diesel engines that the fuel must have high octane. What they don't realize is that the high compression of a diesel doesn't bring as much energy as a bright spark. The RVP of diesel is so very low, however, that it's very hard to atomize without the heat of compression and high fuel injection pressure.
Agreed! The channel garbage time tried this idea with an old v-twin fiat 126. They even got the poor thing to run happily on kerosene. It would be interesting to see how the v8 fuel injected motor of a crown vic would handle the same variety of fuels.
I absolutely love the month of freedom series. You guys killed it. This was a blast, and I looked forward to watching your videos every day. Thanks for the great content.
The science projects were always one of my favorites because everyone inner goof is more evident. Seems like everyone really enjoys it instead of the rush and fix and video on race season
My truck driving(over 2.5 mil miles) late great dad filled up our 1970 Plymouth Fury III sports with diesel.I d estimate about 80% of 35 gallon tank capacity. He drove thru it but man did the 325hp Super Commando run rough tho.I did rebuild that engine after this and some couple thousand miles to a pristine 383 sixpack with mechanical Holleys, that is not vacuum operated. They came from a 440 six pack Stock racing engine that ran 11 s in a 1971 Cuda.Finnish hot rodders love their Mopars.Back in day Finnish retailer for Mopar perf/direct connection was biggest unit outside USA and once they ordered 200 perf starters for SB mopars and USA end had 3 in store! My kid bro built a 1970 Chrysler 300 convertible with 440 six pack and street raced a 1970 Cuda with 383.
Back in the day of carbureted engines, during the hot summer, they would put some diesel in with the gas to prevent it from air locking (evaporating in the fuel lines). It won't show up in their short dyno tests, but diesel in gasoline will make the engine run hotter and eventually melt the pistons and rings, warp the heads, etc.

An inline six two pistons are up together anyways without having to cut an engine in half. The only thing that changes whether its a compression stroke or not is the camshaft. Dumb.
Did they call them that because it can explode like an Sidewinder missile? Lol This sounds like witchcraft. Or urban legend. Maybe some dude back in the day had a built engine, and then told someone about this glorious "sidewinder" engine to fuck with him 😂
That's not a thing. There is a Banks Sidewinder, but that's a 5.9 Cummins and doesn't flip half the crank. What you're describing, you would have to cut and weld at the crank pin filet, which is the most vulnerable part of a crankshaft to begin with. Also, the 232 is an AMC engine, chevy never made a 232 straight 6. ALSO, if you wanted to fire the engine the way you're talking about, you wouldn't even need to weld the crankshaft. Straight 6s fire 1-5-3-6-2-4, and the exhaust stroke happens in the same order, you could just swap out the camshaft and tap coil & injector 1-3 inversely into 4-6's signal wires (you'd be firing 1+6-2+5-3+4). I can tell you that the intake system would be a massive restriction in this configuration though. You'd be creating massive vacuum pulses on every intake stroke which would also cause massive increases in turbulence, which would theoretically improve fuel atomization (fluids evaporate more readily at the same temperature with lower pressure) but would starve the engine for oxygen, resulting in a lot of unused cylinder capacity, and unburnt fuel hitting the catalytic converter and fouling it very quickly. Hope you found this informative. There's a lot of tall tales out there regarding engine modifications, and a lot of people get away with their fibs because they're complicated enough most people wouldn't understand how what they're saying doesn't work.
I just wana express my gratitude to cleet and the crew everyday this month it’s been so satisfying and amazing getting off work knowing iv got an episode waiting on me to come and enjoy thank you guys for all the smiles !
We have an an account for a company that has both gas and diesel powered vans and employees who don't pay much attention when fueling them. We have had both gasoline and diesel powered vans fueled with the opposite fuel towed in from them. Every time emptying the tank and refueling it with proper fuel resulted in a van that ran fine for a while and blew up at some point down the line. Why should it create a bang? There are no spark plugs in a Diesel engine so normally the gas shouldn't ignite or at least not well. Diesel mixed wirh some fuel will still work though.
@@danrose3233 Check wikipedia for octane/cetane numbers for "proof", if anything it's the other way around, Diesel is more Combustible than gasoline. That's why Diesel emgines don't need sparkplugs, Diesel exlodes without sparkplugs and why gasoline engines need them: gasoline doesn't explode as easily, spark plugs do the trick. It's not as much about flamability as about combustion. It's called combustiin engine for a reason. Higher octane fuel combusts later/under less pressure only high octane fuel used in high compression race engines not because it is more combustible but because more/easier combustible lower octane fuel could oe would lead to uncontrolled combustion.
@@dannyfar7989 Yes, diesel contains more energy for the same volume. You are correct I should have said more flammable on gasoline. I would think gasoline in a higher compression engine would cause major problems. It would probably need to be a glow plug style diesel in order to combust. I think about what happens when a flame is put to diesel vs gasoline, again this is flamability. I think the other issue is that ignition of gasoline in a diesel engine would ignite at the wrong part of the stroke.
It's been a rough month for some of us, more than some.. MANY of us. The *Month of Freedom* has been an ISLAND for us to swim towards. Thank you Garrett, James, George, Tye, Zach, and especially *you* SAM LANKFORD! It has been an incredible 4 weeks of videos.

Back in the day the "Little Grey Fergie" (Ferguson TE-20) they ran it on TVO (Tractor Vaporising oil) that was basically Kerosene, which is basically Diesel. It was a carburettor engine that you started on Petrol (Gasoline) and once it was hot you switched over to TVO... Great torque.
Just gotta say this channel wouldn't be the same without the crew you have right now. I know it might sound corny, but you guys really have some magic going on over there. I get more excited for a cleetus video than a grown man should 😂
Way back during 1975 during a drive northwards in the Pilbara Region of Western Australia, one of the roadhouses had its fuel supply cut off due to money problems and the petrol had run out. That left me stranded or I could chance pushing on and running out short of the next fuel stop and begging fuel from fellow travellers. That was going to be chancy if they also were running on fumes. The roadhouse still had diesel. The car was a 1966 Vauxhall Viva. I scratched some numbers on a piece of pie bag and worked out that I might get away with extending the range of the fuel I had in the tank by adding diesel which worked out to about 30%. I retarded the ignition as a hedge against detonation damage and made the distance to the next roadhouse with no problems. There I filled the tank with the engine running in fear it might not start. The rest of the journey was fine.
8:41 it's just like seafoam or berrymans. You can put a little down a vacuum hose, or through the fuel system like you've done too. Really helps clean things up. I've mixed a little Diesel with ATF, and done it that way and it works great. Probably not the best for catalytic converters but I've not had issues yet, don't pour like 3 quarts down the thing but otherwise should be okay. I've heard of people putting that mix through their oiling system too but I'm a little iffy on that yet lol. You should do a video on what kinda fuel mixtures you run an old pre-smog diesel with? Heard of some wild mixtures there too 😂
T an Air compressor line into a custom intake in a way that the compressed air pressure will seal the intake system via one way check valve and build boost. If the engine consumes more air than the compressor will deliver the check valve will open back up. Add enough compressor flow so WOT pulls breath entirely from compressed air tank(s).
Red diesel fuel is classified as off road fuel. No road taxes have been applied. That is one of the checks that a dot officer looks for in a highway use truck, is the color of the fuel.
cleetus, I bet the car was running on diesel pretty much from the start If the tank has a bottom feed fuel system, the density of diesel is 0.85kg/L and gasoline has a density of 0.75kg/L. meaning that the lower density diesel would sink to the bottom of the mixture and the fuel pump would suck up a higher concentration of diesel. awesome video!
Things I've always kinda wondered about. 1. Dyno a car in reverse and try to make as much power as you can... Maybe try multiple cars. (Obviously gearing is going to be the main thing here) 2. Thinking about EGRs.... Closed circuit with the exhaust being the only intake... Maybe nitrous too.. probably nitrous as well. 3. Remember when whistling diesel did the wagon wheels. I'd be curious how crazy wheels Dyno. (I know you normally offset this in Dyno ... I don't know the best way or if you even could program the Dyno) 4. Dry ice in your intake? 5. I don't know how you would do it but Dyno 2 cars on the same Dyno... (Maybe the cars sits on jacks with only one wheel on the studs and on the Dyno) 23:11
heating fuel and farm diesel is dyed red for off road use only as there are no highway taxes paid on it, State Troopers will dip you truck (OTR) tanks if they suspect you are using it or if you're from Iowa

Lettttsssss go y’all absolutely killed the month of freedom
It's been a rough month for some of us, more than some.. MANY of us. The *Month of Freedom* has been an ISLAND for us to swim towards. Thank you Garrett, James, George, Tye, Zach, and especially *you* SAM LANKFORD! It has been an incredible 4 weeks of videos.
Hell yeah brother! We are all just trying to keep our heads above water, keep swimming, the tropical paradise is just ahead!
@@natec599 every day is good. These videos are the icing on the track.
Until you find a way to stop the CEO'S of the Big Companies especially food from over pricing everything as their Profits are up 200-500%, then you have a Political party against the working man fighting against Union's and raising the minimum wage, do your Due diligence so you know who is going to help you and who is lying to you just to get your vote, I'm glad to see my last vote paid off, the price of my Meds dropped considerably and the Chips act brought Jobs to the area as well as Construction jobs to build the new Microsoft plant , all I'm saying is if you're going to be mad at least know who too be mad at, you won't learn that from watching MSM, especially from a Opinion channel that just paid 800 million for lying or nothing will change.
😢
Jackstand says "put your goggles on!" You know its getting sketchy!
“Grab a beaker”
**brings a Taco Bell cup lol
Just gotta say this channel wouldn't be the same without the crew you have right now. I know it might sound corny, but you guys really have some magic going on over there. I get more excited for a cleetus video than a grown man should 😂
Science tests in a chefs coat lol. The details are why I love this channel 😂😂
Cleetus is the heartbeat of America
I think that was Chevrolets schtick
We 100% need another boat or cheap car challenge!!!!
I work such long hours but to get home and throw up some Cleetus on the 80” flatscreen with a beer is such a good way to kick back and relax!
Heard of some wild mixtures there too 😂
Hell Yeah Happy Memorial Day Brother!
jackstand in a chef's coat makes this video that much funnier.
Whistlin McFarland😂
T an Air compressor line into a custom intake in a way that the compressed air pressure will seal the intake system via one way check valve and build boost. If the engine consumes more air than the compressor will deliver the check valve will open back up. Add enough compressor flow so WOT pulls breath entirely from compressed air tank(s).
Hell yeah brother!!! Happy Memorial Day everyone, God Bless America!! 🇺🇸
Freedom from those who sacrificed! Celebrating with Freedom Units!
There's NOT supposed to be anything happy about memorial day!! 🤦♂️
The red "food coloring" was a nice touch :D
They are using off road diesel.
@@jmit5650what?!?!? We had no clue? 😮
Red diesel fuel is classified as off road fuel. No road taxes have been applied. That is one of the checks that a dot officer looks for in a highway use truck, is the color of the fuel.
@@jmit5650 that would be the joke.

Lab coat. It’s McFarland Science
🤣 "Chef Jackstand" when your doing these videos would be hilarious!
Dr LeChef Jackstand!
@@StonkeyDomp 🤣🤣🤣
cleetus, I bet the car was running on diesel pretty much from the start If the tank has a bottom feed fuel system, the density of diesel is 0.85kg/L and gasoline has a density of 0.75kg/L. meaning that the lower density diesel would sink to the bottom of the mixture and the fuel pump would suck up a higher concentration of diesel. awesome video!
Taking flex fuel to the next level - why did the lab coats remind me of Mythbusters lol
Things I've always kinda wondered about.
1. Dyno a car in reverse and try to make as much power as you can... Maybe try multiple cars. (Obviously gearing is going to be the main thing here)
I don't know the best way or if you even could program the Dyno)
4. Dry ice in your intake?
5. I don't know how you would do it but Dyno 2 cars on the same Dyno... (Maybe the cars sits on jacks with only one wheel on the studs and on the Dyno)
23:11
James in the chef coat: the red food coloring was a nice touch.
heating fuel and farm diesel is dyed red for off road use only as there are no highway taxes paid on it, State Troopers will dip you truck (OTR) tanks if they suspect you are using it or if you're from Iowa
"Yup YURR DONE!"😂😂 Do it for science brother
