In their world also exist things like supersoldier serums, artifacts for the worthy, dragonball-alike fighting styles(iron fist), tech to make spiders that give you powers, straight up magic, mutants that can give anyone power(I might misremember the movie), being able to become a herold of galactus or other otherworldy beings, venoms(which do need a suiting host to not kill it), etc.
This doesn’t just remind me of the Cybermen. It reminds me of when Oswin Oswald (Clara) was converted into a Dalek and had no idea she was one the whole time. The tragedy of it is crushing.

In my opinion, the answer to that question depends on a 2 things, the first of which being, physically or mentally, the second, which only applies if you mean physically, being, is the lack of negative side effects aside from the permanent fusion to the suit combined with the plethora of upsides enough to make you ignore how mangled he looks?
