My mom would make these throughout the year, but she lived on the wild side and put the powdered sugar on the cookies while they were still really warm 😂 I miss those cookies, I haven’t had them since she passed away in 2015. I might have to try making them myself, happy memories 😊
I've been making these for 45 years but I've always known them as Russian Teacakes. So many different names, Russian Teacakes, Mexican wedding cookies, Italian wedding cakes. All names fir the BEST cookie ever!!!!!❤
My family has made these for 4 generations. I am the only one left. My younger sister absolutely loved them. Our great auntie always made them especially for her. My family lived in California and my grandmother lived in El Paso. We visited often. Our little auntie would make some of them for our trip home just for my sister Sherry. She would put tissue paper in an old movie film container. That was in the 50’s. It’s one on my favorite memories of my sister and our great auntie. God bless you and your Ron with a beautiful Christmas in your new home. ♥️🎄♥️🎄♥️🎄
@@rachelcookswithlove you are very welcome. All those family members have gone ahead. I miss them so much. You Mrs Rachel are a sweet blessing to my life.
Perhaps you can make up a batch to take to a church gathering or a hobby group or give as gift? Having someone ask for your family recipe might start someone else's family tradition! Share this wealth! ❤
Just don’t wear a black shirt! Everyone will know you’ve been sneaking into the cookies! Thank you, Rachel. My mom made these and now my 39 year old son asks for them every year. 🎄❤️
I found some upright tins at my local Dollar General, so I bought 3. 1 Snowman, 1 Santa, and 1 Nutcracker. I used them for different kinds of candies and nutty snacks that I made. If you root around at any dollar store, you can find a container for anything. LOL. Great video.
I LOVE your channel and am so happy to have found you Rachel. The way you teach to cook is unlike anyone else. It all makes sense to me now. You are a true gem! Thank you! ❤
My daughter in law requested that i make these for our huge family Christmas Party. I'm going to bag them in small bags with your recipe and site name. These girls (women) need to learn to cook. ❤🎁🎄🧑🎄
@@ForGoodnesSake All of my DILs and Daughters and my granddaughters are professionals in their chosen fields. While they have nice jobs and trappings they do not have time to cook very often. Honestly...I love it. 🎄🎁🧑🎄 It's nice to be needed and non replaceable 😘
Thank you for the Mexican Wedding Cookies recipe. I remember them from my childhood but I never realized how easy they would be to make. Thank you again ! 😀
Thank you for sharing! My mom used to make these for Christmas and weddings! I lost her recipe so I really appreciate you sharing yours! They are so yummy! Merry Christmas and may you have a Blessed New Year 🎉
They look yummy!!! I make something similar, I call them Russian Teacakes. I don’t add cinnamon and I replace the vanilla with almond extract, also mine calls for 2 & 1/4 cups of flour. They stay in a ball shape. I roll in powdered sugar right out of the oven, then roll again when cooled.
These look sooooo delicious. I like a your recipe. I have been watching a lot of these recipes. Your’s looks the most Delicious! I like how You did it completely by hand. I don’t mind using my Hand mixer but it really is a lot of work to bring out my big, heavy stand mixer. I also loved Your portioning the cookies with a teaspoon. Not everyone has the cookie scoops. As My Son would say, “What did people use when there were no mixers or cookie scoops?” I love it. Thank You for sharing Your talents with Us. Happy New Year. 😊👍🏼💕🍾🎆🎉🎊👋🏼
I loved this recipe and I'm so glad I found your channel. Ive made these a couple of times already. The way you explain how to put the ingredients together makes cooking so simple but sooo delicious. Watching you vhannel is like being in a friend's kitchen. Thank you.
My mom worked for C & H sugar and this was one of their recipes. They were called just pecan balls. They didn’t have the cinnamon. The recipe called for chopping the pecans fine. Also you rolled the cookies while hot and the you rolled them in the sugar while cool. You made them small so they would just pop in your mouth. I just made them yesterday. So good !
I’m originally from the Midwest (Gary,Indiana) my grandmother made these and we called them snowballs. I still make these every year, they are one of my adult kids favorites and the grandkids love them now too!🎄
Oh, man, I want one of those cookies soooooooooooooooooooo badly right now - ha! And your home is absolutely BEAUTIFUL, and so are your gift-giving ideas. :o) Annette

We are Italian & we had these cookies every Christmas same cookies! Maybe we used almond extract! Very good cookies, very easy, thanks for sharing. Happy New Year!
This was just perfect. I've wanted to make these but forget about them. All my life I would find a few on a holiday platter (here in So Calif lots of Mexicans in our town) but never had the recipe till now.
