    I started a tree service 3 years ago from absolutely nothing. Now I have a house, 2 trucks, dump trailer, dingo, claw and grinder grapple, family and baby on the way. I had no tree experience before I started besides rope access training and 1 month in the field. Tree work saved my life!!!

    As a female I can’t tell you enough how valuable your videos have been to me. I started trimming trees two years ago (San Antonio TX) with a 50 dollar tool rental. I took your “never tell a client you can’t do something, say yes then figure it out” advice and I went from looking up how to install mulch on your channel to installing artificial turf and many other soft and hardscape installations. I LOVE what I do!!! 💚
    Thank you for all the inspiration and advice!!

    I've been dabbing in and marketing Tree Jobs as well. I bought my first and second stump grinder this year. Still being funded by landscaping/lawncare but I do plan on growing the tree side as well. Something very rewarding about spending the day with a chainsaw.

    A PV hook would be a good investment. With a PV hook you could roll those logs out of your trailer effortlessly. They range anywhere from $40 to $100. I got a stihl one that is all metal and has a lifetime warranty. Honestly, one of the best investments I ever made. Saves your back big time.

    Way to many people think you can just start doing tree work. You can’t! It’s dangerous! My husband has been a climber with the same company for 21 years, an he’s ready to get self employed, it’s becoming complicated though for some reason. However, it’s the only way to truly make the money he deserves, time to branch out on our own. It’s nerve wrecking, but I know it’s the best choice. I am just shocked though with how many people we meet who say oh I can do that job, so many doing jobs for Pennie’s with no experience, now as finances get tough it’s gotten really bad.. people are very ignorant to the dangers an essentials of having experience…

    Last video he didn't really strike me as a "tree guy" with the ironworker boots and the oil rigger hard hat but makes sense now that he came up as a line clearance guy. They dress like linesmen and linesmen wear widebrims and flatsoles.. Looks like he's really kitting out now as more of a tree guy with the Petzl style hats and Sena communications. Coming up in a "corporate" company lends itself well to running a owner operator company. It looks like a well oiled machine

  • @williamwalters3796

    What do you do with the logs, sell them to small lumber mills, make firewood or just throw them in the dump? Depends on the species of the log?

    • @jackdunford5775
      @jackdunford5775 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If it’s hard wood, you can bring it to your shop, split it and let it “season” for about a year. Then you can sell it as firewood after it’s seasoned.

Took me 3 day's with cutting releaf cuts and yousing a 16 lbs sledge hammer and lost a cupple wedges. So I made $200 for the cord of firewood but only made about $5 an hour doing it.
