I’ve been cutting trees for over 45 years. Never a climber.
And I watch a lot of tree videos.
But find yours to be the best! And here’s why:
    •they are instructional.
    •well filmed and edited.
•not easy when you’re doing a DANGEROUS job.
•every job is carefully and thoughtfully planned out.
    •you promote safety, by example.
    •NO profanity.
•My feeling is if you’re NOT swearing you’re probably using your Brain RIGHT!
•fun crew. (I’d like to work with you guys.)
•every crew member seems to be well appreciated, congratulated - and on camera.
    •No egos.
•great channel name and intro Graphics.
•I can almost smell the fresh cut trees.
    • could go on.
Nice job and please keep up the great work.
    Interesting note:
My 4 year old grand son calls Saw Dust.
    M A N G L I T T E R.
    Feel free to use that.
    And you’re welcome.
    Genuinely, Jim.

In the 1980s I was in a formal arborist program, sponsored by a coastal city. We learned most of this and more. But had no crane. But we didn't have your unity. Just interpersonal competition and ego. You guys are therefore a pleasure for me to watch.
I came to pruning from timber management in a Western national forest. I showed my team about height and diameter measurement, and even increment boring. That part interested them. So they always had me do those for the record.
Our saws were Stihl 011 and bigger. Our equipment was old style and we footlocked to get up in the tree. No SRT. Our throw lines were 3/8" and heavy, like the ones I used in the Navy.
And so on. I hope you guys appreciate all the changes. But I do think your helmets look funny. LOL!
Every year the agency provided new Redwing logging boots. Once I finally worked out my size I got along with these boots very well.
Thanks for a great video. I enjoy your cameras going up in the tree.
One thing that NEVER occurred to us was the weight of a tree. That was a surprise!
Thanks Gents. I'll see you again soon.
    Michael Dougfir.

I'm just north of you in Victoria. years ago I was told that explorers like Captain Vancouver and others valued highly the Douglas firs for their strength. The tress were taken back to Europe for ships masts. On another note, I knew the owner of a saw sharpening firm here who told me a mill up Island using a gang saw had a blade explode....they had hit a cast iron cannonball.. Shot into the trees and the tree grew around it. Must have been a heck of a bang.

I was doing a big crane removal on some grand firs using a 90 ton crane at 140 feet. Took the dead spike tops out and came down the stem a ways. Crane operator looked and said that where I was would be good for picking so I cut a log off and he was struggling with it,turned out to be 12000 lbs at only about a 20 foot piece, too heavy for him even though it was a 90 ton unit. Went a bit smaller after that 😑

I have never cut down a tree and likely will never cut one down. I don’t even have trees on my property, but Jacob is so entertaining and he seems to enjoy his work so much that it’s entertaining to watch. Keep it up!!!
