Howdy Mike, a dear friend of mine a retired engineer (now passed), restored a 1976 boat very similar in design to yours. He removed all of the rotted OSB and replaced it with real "treated" plywood that he painted with three coats of polyurethane. After sealing with poly he glued down EPDM roofing rubber to it and then carpeted. Years later, the boat showed no signs of water damage after much exposure to the weather. I know because he left it to me when he died. BTW, it also has a 90hp Mercury on it and the last time I had it out its top speed was 46mph.
I have this same boat. Garage kept until last two years but covered. Now I have to replace a soft spot in the floor. Other than that it’s good to go. Same motor as well. Replaced all electrical components and still runs strong.
Excited, i have been waiting for a restoration like this. I did a similar restoration to a smaller less elaborate boat. Your right, your gears start turning when it becomes a blank canvas. Just have to be able to look past the present to the future to see all the potential
Awesome video 👍👍👍 and to be honest I really love the ALUMARATROD idea and like you said the possibilities are endless on how to set it up since it’s a blank canvas .. Can’t wait to see what you come up with.. and see how you do the big dent and how you do the crack on bottom.. 👍👍👍 Don’t get me wrong I still hopeful for the Evinrude and maybe on day in the future it might be worth messing with but that will happen when it happens. Stay safe and As always Sir thanks for the ride along and Keep’em coming
Really great news with the DRY foam!!!!!!! Top quality!!! But thinking of the "wuzwood" (I like that one), hows the transom? I think I'm scared. As far as the dents and crack goes how about no heat. Drill the ends of the crack and rivet on a double sided patch. It's on the bottom, nobody's going to see it. As far as the big whamo goes, peterjennen99's comment about "paintless dent removal" does sound hilarious, but I've used their services, and they are incredible with what they can accomplish with the correct pushing pulling and tapping. Good videos too. Really enjoyed it, thanks for the ride along, looking forward to the next one.
Michael 1st wanna say thanks for the awesome content and I was recommended to ask your opinion on what would be the best used 60-70hp outboard with tilt trim for 95 bass tracker pro 17 Thank you sir
Michael do you have a repair shop I can bring a beloved 75 Evinrude 9.9 for repair? I am 73 yo who would like to be able to use this motor again next year. This for Your great videos.
I have a boat in the front it's all one level and it has comprmits for storage and one live well then next to the console there is a step that opens then all of the back end of the boat is at the level as your fome is at i have one smaller comprmit in the back all of my floor has 1/2 inch Marine plywood. If it was me i would not put carpet back down on the floor

Going that far, you might as well fix that little oh dent. IN FOR A PENNY, OH YOU KNOW THE THING😂😂😂😂😂. your there.
oh that little dent is going to get plenty of attention, thanks for watching
You should maybe talk to a paint less dent removal guy? They might need practice for Ford F150s? IDK😂
That there is funny...
that's a good one, thanks for watching
It looks like partical board
It crumbled like it, but on the pieces that weren't completely rotted away, it had plywood layers. Thanks for watching and commenting.
Not sure its good luck to call the boat the "Eighty Six" ..... Just sayin.
I found this on the Entire Net: "86" is an American English slang term that means to get rid of, throw out, or refuse service to something or someone.
Interesting, Now I want to call the the Rat Rod 86'er, lol, thanks for watching
