I'm 62 and have a very stressful lifestyle between caring for grandchildren, elderly parents and working as RN in ICU. I've lost 58 pound over the past 5 months through what I've learned from Dr. Fung. I haven't included extra exercise, I just rid myself of bad carbs and sugar combined with intermittent fasting. I'm not even the greatest or strictest at it; but it has helped me lose weight, gain energy and clean up a lot of foggy thinking. Not to shabby considering my circumstances.

I don’t have a budget that can support paying for medical supervision. Because you’re providing your guidance, medical brilliance and truth (with generosity) without charging (greed)

I am physician Assistant in Ghana. One day a friend who is previously undiagnosed called to tell me his FBS is 20 when he visited the hospital and was on admission and started on isulin. I then told him if he is willing I could help him so he doesn't remain on the medication. Upon discharge he was put on meteor in and invitedme to come in. From the knowledge gathered from DR.Fung and my own knowledge from research, I started him on IF and carbohydrate restriction a d within days he stopped taking the medications and 6 months down the line he has been off medication and A1c has been around 4.5 from 7 or so.
Fasting and all that this man talks about works.
I am currently enhancing my knowledge through self study and operational research. Thank u Dr.

I love his humanistic, compassionate, non-shaming approach to understanding why people may be overweight. His point about certain people assuming a superiority due to body weight is perceptive. His logical and intelligent, medically-informed explanation undermines the repeated calorie reduction argument in a respectful way.

That’s very true. And for young people, “calories in, calories out” will work temporarily, but they will wreak havoc with their bodies in the long run. Dr Fung’s approach instead heals the body. Following his advice will work for everyone, not just people in their 20’s. They’ll learn in time.

Dr. Fung has changed my life. He explained things in a way that really makes sense. I was obese and couldn't stop binge eating. I was seeing a psychiatrist and thought nothing would help me stop gorging. It was my high sugar and high refined carb diet that kept me from gaining control. Who would ever believe eating much less, healthier food, less often would help me actually feel full?! I've already lost 10lbs, completely natural, and it hasn't been painful at all! I know I'll get back down to a healthy BMI because I have control of the insatiable drive to eat.

I’ve been a type 1 diabetic for over 50 years. I used to tell people that I eat a single meal most days. Usual response from people my age or older: “As a diabetic you must eat SIX SMALL MEALS A DAY!” I have never met anyone so dogmatic about any religion. Of course nobody could give a reason apart from how it’s essential to eat that way to keep my blood glucose constant. I told them I’d need to take insulin either before or after every small meal. Didn’t shake anyone’s faith in SIX SMALL MEALS.
Now I mostly just don’t talk about my eating habits. Usually best to keep my big mouth shut.

I am a 65 y. o. Woman. I too have always eaten omd since my childhood. My weight has always been healthy & stable. During my 1st pregnancy I did gain 25 lbs but lost it in a 3 month time frame after our son was born. My mother always loved breakfast and wanted me to eat before going to school, I hated breakfast and I do not routinely care for sweets, fruit is very sweet to my pallette! I crave salty or tart foods. I've come to the conclusion that I have more sweet receptors than the average person. This is a blessing but since I HAD high blood pressure salty foods weren't my friends! Lol .... the keto diet has allowed me to loose 13 lbs & CURE MY HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE! I no longer need any bp meds! MY HUSBAND'S TYPE 2 diabetes has improved to the point that his blood sugar is under great control & he is only on one med now. My problem is I tried to drop one of the two thyroid meds I have taken for 45 years and ....needless to say I could not stay awake and had to abandon the attempt. I am now concentrating on getting more iodine containing foods and it is helping my energy level! I HAVE Hashemotos and low thyroid. I am searching for a cure for both.

I spoke to a nutritionist not long ago. She thought the whole fasting thing was nonsense and unhealthy. So I told her my simplified take that fat is stored surplus energy which your body can access in times when there is little or no food. She did not agree, she went on and said that the body would consume muscle and not the fat.... I pitty her clients.

Thank you, Dr. Fung! I've lost 62 lbs gain and my A1c down from 6.8 to 5.8 and still dropping both weight and A1C. A couple of tweaks I've made to accomplish this: Switched to cauliflower rice from white and brown; eating window 4-6 hours and sometimes OMAD; drinking 1T Braggs apple cider vinegar in a tall glass of water to keep glucose and insulin spikes lower; wearing a Freestyle Libre CGM so I can see in real time what different foods do to my body. I feel healthy, fit, active and have zero pain, plus clarity of mind I haven't experienced in decades! I'll turn 59 tomorrow and won't have to die young. THANK YOU!

Thank-you Dr Fung love to hear the insanity of counting just calories. I work with doctors that ask me how I am losing weight. I tell them it’s time, not calories . They look at me and say “it’s always calories in and out’ and I say well I don’t count them. I am picking healthier foods because the longer I stay away from it the easier it gets and my body is burning the fat and stored glucose, and there is a lot of it right now. They are using those prepackaged foods, but I say what is going to happen when you stop buying that food? the weight will just come back. No more temporary, expensive tactics, fasting has let my body rest from all that trash food sold to us on all that insane advertising. You start feeling alive again and in control of your life, and best of all it’s free.

People in the 1920's and 30's were working harder too! Housewives were using wringer washing machines and hanging clothes on the line and mopping their floors by hand instead of using machines. There was just more work to every day living then than there is now.

We were trained as kids to eat 3 meals a day, and we train our kids to eat 3 meals a day. Hunger has little to do with it, its the habit that needs to be addressed. How many people eat only because the clock tells them to eat? I know I did.

Me too. I literally feel like something is off or wrong without dinner, even if I’m not hungry. It’s like I don’t know what to do so I eat, because that’s what I have done all my life. The momentum of habit is stronger than intention or desire to change

Dr Fung is so kind and diplomatic. I’m skinny, but my husband is overweight. When we grew up, I was bombarded with large meals every day, but my husband never had enough food. I think some of it’s caused by food deprivation when people are growing up, now, as adults they eat as much as they can, while they can. 🤔

I was born in 54. We ate many times a day growing up on the farm . Early breakfast then milked and fed the cows. Snack mid morning went back out cleaned the barn by fork and shovel. Ate dinner(noon) back outside worked in the field had snack(usually sandwhich and sweets) around 3pm cont in field til 5 fed and milked cows again. Came in had supper. Got bath for bed had snack before bed. We stayed thin. As the years went on things became more automated and we were told fat we were eating was bad. The combination made us all gain weight. Blamed it on having kids and getting older.. Dr fung is spot on

I’ve been to a specialist for weight loss because I was gaining SO much weight and my family doctor referred me to the specialist. All he said to me was to keep track of my calories for one week and went back to see him. No other tests. He told me to stay at 1700 calories per day but I still didn’t drop any weight. He told me to eat less calories and I was still gaining. He said “ummmm I don’t know what went wrong” so I stopped seeing him. My husband kept saying there must be something else other than counting calories. After watching Dr. Fung’s videos, I went for tests and I found out that I’m diabetic and high cortisol levels. I’m glad I found these videos or the specialist will just give me the “what went wrong?” All he told me was to reduce calories. Thank you Dr. Fung
