Nice job! I will be doing my 2000 mk4 gti soon as it has the same issue- a leak on the filter housing. You have a lot of patience bro! Question: did you end up draining the oil each time or were you able to just pull off the housing without draining the oil pan?
i didn’t have to drain the oil! it sits higher than everything filled with oil so just let the car sit for a few minutes after running to let the oil drip to the bottom and then you’re good to go!
