It's not actually a noise having lived with the car longer I think it's just a quirk of these lsd diff's

A great result! Did you check the breather for the rear diff? If that blocks you could potentially get an over pressure on the diff and blow the front seal, which means a diff out job! I had my diff oil changed at a Jag specialist and they did check my breather and cleaned it out, they said it was ok but worth looking and cleaning. The mileage on my car had just turned 40K (V8) so for piece of mind etc. cost about £100. I was planning to do it myself but time is my enemy!

Didn't see any breather on this one, worth having a go at this yourself especially the electronic ones as they take more fluid which is where the expense is.

@@louismochine4756 Hi Louis, it is worth doing yourself I agree, takes me longer to get up off the ground these days ;) is yours AWD? or just rear. In all respect I thought all diffs had the breather pipes, maybe not. I'm not too familiar with the V6 drive train then. Somehow I thought they were all of similar design, V8 being perhaps more rugged due to power etc.

The F-Type differential units have a yellow cap on the breather at the top of the diff unit. The Jaguar service manual has pictures of the breather. It is very difficult to check the cap. The LSD in teh V6S models does need frequent fluid changes.. and Castro BOT720 oil is the correct fluid. Others on the Jaguar Forums have also reported noise during cornering with old fluid.
