Isn’t it incredible that as you’ve progressed, you’ve become better at showing the fails. That really makes me appreciate all the effort you’ve put it.
Very nice! Gave it a new live! On those old boards if you fell and couldn't grab it they would flip over and go all the way to the rocks just like you said. It almost seemed like they were designed to do that LOL. For me, thank goodness for leashes - I don't miss those long swims and often the resulting ding repairs.
So awesome. Jacob boards were born in the South Bay back in the classic era of the 60s. Great to see this long board brought back to life…. In the South Bay!
I love your work. Just a question though. Do you sand over the acrylic paint that you have sprayed in order to create good adhesion for the resin coat?
When automotive paint guys have to colour match on a car, they get the colour as close as humanly possible, then they blend (fade) that colour into the surrounding paintwork over a large area. They do it because it's impossible to get a perfect match, even when they buy the same colour from the manufacturer. And that's because paint fades in the elements over time. Look into paint matching on cars. There's plenty of video on YT covering it. I've found the automotive paint industry very useful when doing colour/paint work on my surfboards.
Can you still buy Reichhold glossing resin in Ca? Has the EPA stopped that one as well? So glad I left So. Cal at the end of the 80’s for a more tolerant board building Country.
OR you could paint ON TOP of the resin and Gloss / Clear to seal it all in. Resin on top of paint will always change its colour. Then the HALO D fin……… tricky stuff young Bro!

Nope never heard of that resin. What country do you like in now?
@@Rogue_wave Western Africa Too many empty pt breaks to name
Absolutely gorgeous. Is it still available? Texas brother wants to buy So-Cal brother a birthday gift. We're South Africans and it's his 55th.
