    Good episode - the old council house has a great front garden, too, which is as big as many town gardens - can make that really useful with some fruit trees and flowers. It is a thing, when you have a long commute & young kids, you don't have a lot of time for gardening, as you do want one free day when you can go off on Adventures. Much better than their 'dream' home - the terracing would have been a nightmare with a toddler!

      Go off on adventures? They’re not 10 year olds Maybe gardening is their adventure anyway

    Trust me, parking will be an utter nightmare. And very quickly it'll be neighbour wars.

    Poor Laura wants to be a stay at home mom and gardener but she has to work for the house she wants. Hope she figures it out before Jack starts school.
    Both couples are sweet, best wishes to them.
    Thanks for the download!

    IMO the second couple shouldn't have used so much of their buying power when they say they need help from their folks coming up with the 35K deposit. It seems that they have put all their savings into this house, so what if one of them goes unemployed or has an emergency? So I absolutely agree with Kirstie about the house not necessarily need to be a forever home. They should have gotten a house which suits their family needs for the coming few years until they grow out of it again.

      Moving is a pain though. While I agree with you that a house doesn’t have to be a forever house, it’s better to buy for the long term, at least five years. A few years just seems to be a waste to me. You might as well just not move.

      There's moving costs and rising house prices to consider, though. I say go for the house but build up a emergency fund before going crazy with remodeling. Nowadays young people's wants often outstrip their budget. Not a great idea. But if their folks are wealthy, may have them to fall back on. TFS

    A car is big lot of money too, albeit a depreciating asset. All the guy wants is to park it somewhere. Of course Kirstie knows better (not)

    I can't believe how long it takes to close on a house. Good grief! Who is dragging their feet?

    I think it was a mistake to rule out the "Dream House" on the basis of it being too much work. They are not duty-bound to work on it immediately, rather, they can grow into it, over time. When the time comes for them to move to such a house, they likely will no longer to be able to afford it. Missed opportunity, Kirstie - I think they were ill-advised.

      Agree. But Kirstie is far too gullible if herself to ever consider another opinion

      How many emergency room visits would there be in a third acre plot straight up hill with a barely walking one year old boy?
      An hour commute each way for both parents and no time for the garden, because the child should come first.
      Terribly impractical, a very wise move for Laura and Chris.

    Why does it take month to get the deal/sale through after price has been agreed?

    • @M.Campbell
      @M.Campbell 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Home sales have to go through solicitors (lawyers), on both sides, in the UK. A month is really quick. It usually takes several.
