House #1 Lady, you're not buying the house decor! Your furniture, your colour scheme, that's where the personality comes from!

Ok, so they were ready to offer 770k, but decided that 775k is too much, so they stayed in their rental, paying rent. I wonder how many months 5k will cover. Either they are not ready to move at all and looking for excuses or they are searching for unicorns...
Happy for the other couple, smart choice! Although I would have gone for the first flat, but again based on video only. In person it is all so very different.

I knew that they were not going to end up buying anything the moment the husband told Chris that they were keen on trying to make an offer on house number 2. It was such a lukewarm statement with no enthusiasm, excitement or stress (other than the wife saying it was stressful once with no emotion). Usually, if you really want a house, one is nervous and excited about getting it, and the couple displayed no feelings.
Even if the seller had accepted their offer of 760K or 770K, this couple would have pulled out later as they are full of self doubts and second guessing everything due to wife's over analysis and the husband not able to make a firm decision or is just used to wife making decisions for them. Phil pointed out in the very begining the over analysis type struggle when it comes to buying property.
Now they are going to waste so many hours for months or longer checking properties online and then spend many many weekends going to view properties. They would waste more time in property search which if converted to money would far exceed the 5K that they refused to pay. Not to mention the longer they rent that 5K and more would be consumed by rent.

I think the lady is insecure and afraid to trust her instincts and feelngs. If one mentally analyzes a property, over and over, they will all come up short.

A man his age who is absolutely adamant that he does not want children is letting you know that he wants 'you' but not your fertility, because accepting the entire woman, with her fertility, means he will have to give up being an adolescent. Can't count how many women I know who accepted that in their 20s and then found themselves in menopause, still 'living with their boyfriend' and facing the fact that he was NEVER going to commit to marriage and family.

I'm with the Ukrainian couple, Joanna, on that Edwardian. The outside was gorgeous. Then inside, it was so sterile with all the architectural character renovated out of it. Really, what's the point? And the back of the house with those prison-like walls, not at all appealing.

@@AFAskygoddess Don't be ridiculous. There have been many people on this show who could never come to a decision because they were too critical, analyzing every house to atoms. @@JuliaHopewell Polish familes tend to be much closer than "western" families. For more than 20 years I taught college in Poland and out of almost 2000 students I can think of only three or four who did *not* say that their parents were their best friends who had done everything for them and are the first people they would go to for help and advice. This came up again and again over the years in a standardized mock oral exam. So don't judge what you can't understand. The devotion of kids to their parents in Poland is beautiful and deeply touching to see.
