Im from southern Minnesota, and when I was going through basic training for the Army 11 years ago, me and three buddies from other parts of the country watched this so they could better understand Minnesota life in the winter:) I will always remember that night of laughter with those dudes!!!
At last I found both "Grumpy"-movies at tubeplus, so now I have just had a good time, watching them again. Uncle Burgess can never be replaced,he will be missed.
Michelle M I don't care if he was something else lol that's part of getting old!! Rip Burgess never be another like him he was a classic from a long time before...
"You're s'posed to be smokin' filter cigarettes, Pop." "Yeah, well I'm 94 years old, what the hell do I care..." One of my favorite lines in the movie. ;)
Talk about a dieing breed, I miss those guys, Walter, Jack, and Burgess, their unedited work, because the time they began, most of that was not allowed on film.
When I first saw this, I was LMFAO! I couldn't believe this was the same guy who voiced one of my childhood heroes: "Puff the Magic Dragon". ;-) RIP Burgess Meredith You'll always be Puff to me.
it must have been so hard deciding which take they wanted to go with on the "looks like Chuck is going to-" lines...priceless! lol. "You mount the woman son! Or else send her out to me huh." Best advice ever!!!
Seeing these Great & numerous Clip's of the Marvelous, Burgess Meredith. IS just Totally, ahhh Awesome & a Very Great Tribute too an Awesome Individual and Great Actor. Sadly He's been gone Many years Now. But thinking 🤔🤔 back on it. He was One Helluva a Talented Man and Actor that really was phenomenal in & During His entire Career and Life as well. Thanks for Sharing. 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🤔🤔👏👏
The moment I first saw this movie back in 95 the ice fishing hooked me since I myself am an ice fisher in jersey since the late 70s. Fell through Farrington once in 3 feet of water. Fell through again a few years later in Lake Hopatcong out in the cove in about 7 foot of water. But what a great movie with a bunch of great people
It used to take me forever to watch Grumpy Men and Grumpier Old Men as I kept fast forwarding and backing up the VHS Tapes back in the 90s ! They made still makes me laugh so very hard i laugh so hard Im surprised I dont pee my pants from laugjing so hard !
This is a scream :). I've got to sit down and watch this movie. From the Twilight Zone to Grumpier Old Men I've enjoyed his work... I hope the fishing is good where he and my Dad are. :)
"Skimboat to tuna town" should have made the main cut and not be just an outtake. One of the funniest things I've ever heard, and I am a standup comedy junkie.
Damn this must be an edited version...I think Burgess says something like "Cold as a witch's titty" instead of "cold as butt out here". So hilarious...such a funny movie!
"Looks like Chuck's entering the holy of holies. Coitus Un-interruptus".. LOL.. Noboby gets that one, but look it up. Thats an exceptional vocabulary word.
Burgess is exactly like my grandfather, god rest his soul. He'd be in a restaraunt flirting with a waitress and soon he'd be wheeling after her and she'd be running for her life!
He had Alzheimer's whilst he was filming this and when he did Grumpier Old Men he had to be gently coaxed with his lines because it was getting worse and despite all that he still gave a brilliant, hilarious and memorable performance as Mr Gustafson Snr what a talented actor he was! My grandad had dementia and its so heartbreaking to sit back and watch a loved one slowly forget their loved ones and eventually themselves I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy. RIP Burgess and Mr Gustafson Snr ❤❤❤❤
I remember it coming out on VHS when it was brand new and I was 6 or 7 years old and my uncle had surgery and he had just had his first son and my grandma took us to the grocery store and it just happened to be up front he said you know who these guys are I said no but I remember seeing it on TV for advertisements and I had some money from mowing my lawn for my dad is a chore and I ended up buying it and we watched it over and over and over because I was helping her take care of my cousin and I never understood the jokes that were in the movie when I was little but now I do cuz now I'm in my thirties
One / two of the best movies ever! Only one big innaccuracy that most from Minny might realize. I highly doubt there would be drivable ice in that part of the state before turkey day!
"The first 90 years, they go by pretty fast, then you wake up one day and you realize your not 81 anymore." What a quote.
"You MOUNT the woman, son! Or, uh...send her out to me, eh?" 😁
The first 90 years *or so*, they go by pretty fast.
@@mwilliamshs Yea but how would ya know? You're just a dam kid!
Probably one of the best comedy characters of all time.
RIP Uncle Burgess
You know Burgess Meredith loved doing those outtakes. He was great in these movies and in Rocky… a true legend.
He was great in everything he did.
If I ever get old this is the type of old man I want to be.
me also
I just want to be old enough to call someone in their 60s a kid.
@@kumarg3598 I'm 60...you can call ME a kid if you want! LOL

"I'm 94 years old! What the Hell do I care?" LOL!
I don't condone smoking but if the man lived to be 94, let him smoke all he wants!
I take my hat off and respect those who live life well into their 90's, must be wonderful :)
I nearly pee myself every time I watch this movie and a lot of it has to do with this great man. Thanks for the laughs Burgess
reminds me of my grand father that passed away 2 years ago, rest his soul and merediths. i miss the 90's, what a great decade for film and music
The bloopers!! LOL! I never get sick of these movies and Burgess Meredith.
"Looks like Chuck is gonna take a ride on the baloney pony!" That one had me laughing for a week.
Skinboat 2 tuna town Roflmaoooooo
@@natesmith5493 "Looks like Chuck's gonna put the hot dog in the bun!" "Looks like Chuck's gonna bury his boner!" That had me laughing for weeks!
Ol one eye to the optometrist lmao 😅😂😂
Grandpa: Looks like, Chuck's slipping her, the old salami.(laughs)
John:(mortified) Oh Jesus, Dad!

Alis Buus I heard from.Stallone he was something else in real life.
Perhaps, but never mind ! I will allways love his movies. Have a nice Christmas from Denmark!

@Al454 I guess when you're that age, why would you. The same can be said for cigars and tobacco pipes too.
This is great stuff! My favorite line: "you mount the woman son!" I still repeat this line to my adult sons. Always good for a laugh.
This has me in tears every time I watch it. Men must never stop talking like this.
Its butt cold out here, and i'm freshhhh out of beerrrrrr.
That’s why I started homebrewing. I’m never out of beer.
Yeah, it's all in the delivery.
Keep the change
Keep the change😂
Talk about a dieing breed, I miss those guys, Walter, Jack, and Burgess, their unedited work, because the time they began, most of that was not allowed on film.
Walter Matthaus last movie Hanging Up had me crying like a baby.. He looked so old ☹
This might just be the greatest movie on the face of the earth.
Pay respects to legend Bergis Merideth.
We need millions of him today
When I first saw this, I was LMFAO! I couldn't believe this was the same guy who voiced one of my childhood heroes: "Puff the Magic Dragon". ;-)
RIP Burgess Meredith You'll always be Puff to me.
darthstarkiller1912 he was also in 4 Twilight Zone episodes, the best being "Time Enough at Last", in 1960.
What? Hes puff? Seriously?
I watch both these movies every year 😂 still remember watching this when first came out 13yrs old laughing my but off.
it must have been so hard deciding which take they wanted to go with on the "looks like Chuck is going to-" lines...priceless! lol. "You mount the woman son! Or else send her out to me huh." Best advice ever!!!
Your supposed to be smoking filtered cigarettes dad. "I'm 94 years old... what the hell do I care?" Doesn't get any better than that.
I like how he built his ice-shantee out of a pickup cabover camper...👍👍👍
My favorite movie. God bless you guys!!

If I was a young fella like you I would be mounting every woman in Waubasha! Keep the change.
I was looking for the intro song ("Having a heat wave...") because it's 40 in Chicago and it's like spring because it's been single digits for days...
God I love Burgess Merideth here!
I missed out on all these dirty jokes when I first saw this as a kid! XD
This is probably one of Burgess Meredith's roles
Skin boat to tuna town hahahaha

and I'm fresh outta beer!
“If I was a young fella like you” My grandpa would say that from time to time. How I miss those days!
Burgess Meredith can sure play the senile old man very well.
He had Alzheimer's whilst he was filming this and when he did Grumpier Old Men he had to be gently coaxed with his lines because it was getting worse and despite all that he still gave a brilliant, hilarious and memorable performance as Mr Gustafson Snr what a talented actor he was! One of the best movies ever made. These folks were made to make this movie as men. But Ann Margaret? Still gorgeous beyond belief
The scenes with jack lemmon and burgess merideth are me and my dad

The moral of the story is to enjoy life and the little things in life.
