That would be a great justification for a range refresh, though I suspect Fulgrim should PROBABLY come back first? Imagine slaanesh-specific daemon engines.

The last story I read with a Demon Engine was Brutal Kunnin’ an Iron Warrior snuck onto a Mechanicus Forge World that was under siege by Ork Pirates and an Ork Waagh at the same time. The Waagh showed up because they’re run by Mekboss da Meklord and wanted some cool tech and managed to leave with STC’s by the end. The Iron Warrior was there purely out of spite (as an Iron Warrior would) to get revenge on the Mechanicus for killing his Knight. He supplied a Mechanicus Leader with the schematics and let him do the hard work before sacrificing him to summon a demon to possess the Demon Engine. Interestingly we get a few chapters from the Demons perspective and he shifted from killing the Mechanicus to going after the Orks because their Waagh energy was giving it a headache. Apparently Ork powers are so antithetical to the Warp it’s actually annoying to demons. Orks don’t use The Warp, they don’t worship the Chaos Gods and worship their own Gods, everything about Orks is Anti-Chaos and it hurts.
Diesos was an interesting soul forge. It was taken over by an Iron Warrior warband, and they ABUSED it to churn out thousands of Daemon engines. They did it so much that all 4 Chaos gods ganged up on them and sent hordes of each of their daemons to put a stop to it. It took an entire month for the forge to fall. Against a combined legion of daemons.

@@giantninja9173 I mean... is that a bad thing? Oldhammer is basically Besthammer, not to throw shade at 40k but imho it's vastly superior, and more manageable in scale. Even with all the years of lore under it's belt for 40k, I'm still waiting on a good Oldhammer story the likes of Gotrek and Felix. Because nothing came close to me, even stuff like Twice Dead King and The Infinite and the Divine.

Apparently Helldrakes have really good aerodynamics. Someone put a model in an air tunnel and analyised it. Another funny note from that aerodynamic test thing is that the Imperial Guard Valkyrie apparently has a negative lift, kind of like a Formula 1.

Daemon Engines have always fascinated me with how impossible they are, yet exist to spite all laws of reality and physics. Dawn of War introduced me to them and to my favorite one, the Defiler. An artillery walker that can engage in melee combat with 2 massive claw arms. What's not to love about that super front heavy design on thin crab legs?
The Cyber dragon in yugioh was always used in monarch decks back in the day which enabled them to do a tribute summon turn one (which was a rare thing back in the day) They also had a card named treeborn frog which came back every turn so you could tribute summon again if the opponent got rid of your monarchs. I can see brickys hate for this card
That would require them to agree on somthing that isn't fucking with real space. It would just take one or two gods to back out before the attack for them to be able to monopolize the soulforge and get a major victory in The Great Game.
My favorite thing about Forgefiends in this edition is that if you overcharge your guns and fail your dark pact it’s possible for them to blow up 300+ points of terminators and then themselves all in one round of shooting
The scorpion feels like a fitting symbol for Khorne, given that it’s been used to represent revenge and self destruction. Like folktale about the frog crossing the stream. Plus the fact that scorpions can actually sting themselves. There are also ones about stinging themselves (but I’m pretty sure those are myths and they’re immune to their own venom).
In lore, Ironically, being entombed in a Helbrute is considered a terrible fate on par with spawndom. Imperial Dreadnoughts slowly lose their sanity in their imperfect immortality, a Helbrute does so quickly and everyone knows it. The CSM codex even has an excerpt of a World Eater cursing his brothers for forcing him into the sarcophagus and begging them to just let him die. Chaos is wild.

The reason they might have moved them to 30k is because Vashtore is gone into web way and the Demon Engines might be defending hsi place from "Occupation"
The Blood Slaughterers were amazing. Moving and advance up to 16" in a turn, decent enough armor, wounds and save, and the attacks were devastating. All AP-3, and Damage 3. This could trounce dreads, rhinos, marines. I used three always in my Fast Attack slots. Advance up the board all on one side so the opponent doesn;t kill all three
One of the first vehicles i bought for my World Eaters was a Blood Slaughterer and its still an absolute blast to run. I normally try to run it every game that I can as long as my opponent doesn't care.
Defiler was what got me interested in 40k, 10 year old me saw one at a recreational event and was live "Wooow that crab looks amazing." To this day didn't build one, after already building over 3k Chaos knights and in the process of building/painting necrons.
What sold me was dawn of war. At first they seemed absurd, but their animations were so good i quickly loved them. From their spaz out melee smacking a whole squad to shoving the ballista bolt in their face to fire it. Love em

Is it bad that I think the Helldrakes are objectively the most beautiful monsters/machines in 40k? They're just aesthetically pleasing to look at, I want to command an entire flock of them.

You know. For a faction in lore is basically everywher. Yet, on tabletop, GW hates Chaos (next to Eldar). As they do not support the faction. And when they do, it is the bare minimum. And if you DARE do your own 3D printing to ADD to a base model and make your own version of some Chaos unit. GW gets pissy and wants 3D printing banned (and sadly for us in the States. They want to pass a law, that you have to have a background check done. All to get a 3D Printer. Much like a getting a firearm. All because you can make plastic pieces for a firearm or make one. Even though making a firearm is not hard.) So yeah....
I think a decimator kit-bash where you use the center piece of a penitent engine aka the tortured human instead of that goofy ass head would be absolutely kickass

the tower of skulls tank concept was also used in one of the Dawn of Fire series books -the Gate of Bones I think. Where the word bearers built a giant anti space ship canon out of the bones of an Imperial cemetery shrine world using ritual magic and scavenged Imperial weapons - to shoot down Guillimans flag ship when he came in to reinforce

1:22:00 personally i actually think the venom crawler looks like a spider? and then the flying drake looks like a dragon? so i really dont think the brass scorpion is off by itself. I do think it could use some update and stuff you know to its visuals, but still, just wanted to point that out.
Now here's my take I think the legs look cool like the first image was not very flattering at all the second image when it was all painted and stuff looked a lot better and made me warm up to it more But with that I feel the tank treads are still Superior because of one aspect there are not nearly enough skulls all over those legs for the Lord of fucking skulls while the tank treads had that giant skull shaped Grill with skulls all crammed into it Like the legs are cool but needs more skulls many more skulls
I also made that mistake when starting out - But I got Adeptus Titanicus Knights instead of regular Knights - thought I was getting a sick deal and really lucked out!
The old Brass Scorpians pincers claws used to be just a pair of F off buzzsaws, the tail a gatling battle cannon & a a gun skull face. it was a fun as hell unit in Epic

I always thought of the Hellbrute as Chaos' Venerable Dreadnought. A warrior that's defied death for so long and been recognized for it.

Of the 20 or so years Yu-Gi-Oh has existed, some form of Cyberdragon has been competitive for like 14 of those years.

I don't know why but the brass scorpion reminds me of something that could be a necron model with how it looks. Feels kind of like the scorpion in Total war Warhammer 2. With the undead faction
You know. For a faction in lore is basically everywher. Yet, on tabletop, GW hates Chaos (next to Eldar). As they do not support the faction. And when they do, it is the bare minimum.
And if you DARE do your own 3D printing to ADD to a base model and make your own version of some Chaos unit. GW gets pissy and wants 3D printing banned (and sadly for us in the States. They want to pass a law, that you have to have a background check done. All to get a 3D Printer. Much like a getting a firearm. All because you can make plastic pieces for a firearm or make one. Even though making a firearm is not hard.)

Brass Scorpion legit doesn't have enough spikes or skulls to look like a Khorne model.

Now here's my take I think the legs look cool like the first image was not very flattering at all the second image when it was all painted and stuff looked a lot better and made me warm up to it more
But with that I feel the tank treads are still Superior because of one aspect there are not nearly enough skulls all over those legs for the Lord of fucking skulls while the tank treads had that giant skull shaped Grill with skulls all crammed into it
Like the legs are cool but needs more skulls many more skulls
