The removal of the brass scorpion from 40K was so devastating, I knew someone at my local tournament setting who would always use his triple brass scorpion list in every GT he went to and now he can’t.
That would be a great justification for a range refresh, though I suspect Fulgrim should PROBABLY come back first? Imagine slaanesh-specific daemon engines.
@@johnj.spurgin7037I’m not sure what they’ll do with Fulgrim now though; he just got a demon form model for Horus Heresy Forge World, and I can’t imagine his current form looks much different. Are they really gonna release a plastic demon Fulgrim relatively shortly after a resin demon Fulgrim?
The last story I read with a Demon Engine was Brutal Kunnin’ an Iron Warrior snuck onto a Mechanicus Forge World that was under siege by Ork Pirates and an Ork Waagh at the same time. The Waagh showed up because they’re run by Mekboss da Meklord and wanted some cool tech and managed to leave with STC’s by the end. The Iron Warrior was there purely out of spite (as an Iron Warrior would) to get revenge on the Mechanicus for killing his Knight. He supplied a Mechanicus Leader with the schematics and let him do the hard work before sacrificing him to summon a demon to possess the Demon Engine. Interestingly we get a few chapters from the Demons perspective and he shifted from killing the Mechanicus to going after the Orks because their Waagh energy was giving it a headache. Apparently Ork powers are so antithetical to the Warp it’s actually annoying to demons. Orks don’t use The Warp, they don’t worship the Chaos Gods and worship their own Gods, everything about Orks is Anti-Chaos and it hurts.
Diesos was an interesting soul forge. It was taken over by an Iron Warrior warband, and they ABUSED it to churn out thousands of Daemon engines.
